Together, a layout using the new products by Karine

Hi,

January is such an exciting month over here, at Shimmerz Paints, with the new products released! I'm so happy to be working with those products.

My first share this month, I used both Paste-Eez and AcriTonez on my layout.

Together

To create my background, I used Peach Fuzz Paste-Eez through a checkers stencil. To add contrast, I used Lava Flow Paste-Eez through a typewriter text stencil.

It was pretty as is, but I thought I would add some mists, just to unify everything. I used Peachy Keen Coloringz with a brush, making drops and little «pools» of colors.

I also added Truffle Spritz, using the same techniques as I did with the Coloringz. The soft grey color add just enough interest to the background.

Look at the gorgeous background I got! Isn't it pretty?

I used some stamps to add even more texture.

I painted my 2Crafty Chipboards pieces (Squiggly Heart Cluster and Mini Word Set 2) with 3 Sheets to the Wind Acritonez.

You like what I have used and would like to get your hands on the products ? Visit the Shimmerz Store to see all the gorgeous colors in the many ranges on offer!

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to mention my name when placing your order to get a free product.

Stillness, a layout and a video by Karine

Hi there, Shimmerz fans,

I'm stopping by today to share another layout I created for Shimmerz Paints. Here it is.

I started out with this 7 Dots Studio paper that I covered with clear gesso.

I used sandy texture paste through a stencil, and then, I applied my color. I used two colors: Truffle Spritz and My Bleeding Heart Coloringz. I used some stamps to add more interest to my background.

I didn't have blue flowers, so I used my Deep Blue Sea Vibez and sprayed them. I love the result.

I made a video tutorial to show you my process.

Don't forget to mention my blog if you order! You'll earn free paint!

Fall leaves by Astrid

Hello everyone, this is Astrid and I am super excited to share my first project with you here on the blog!!!
I decided to start off with a journal spread and have kept it quite simple.
These are the Shimmerz products I used:
I'll give you a quick run down on how I put my pages together:
I covered a double page in my journal with gesso, using a pallet knife. When it had dried I added texture paste in random places and heat dried it with my heat tool to create some textural bubbles etc.
Next I die cut two Tim Holtz Layered Leaves, embossed them with the matching embossing folder, adhered them to the page with gel medium and then covered them with gesso.
Time to start playing with my wonderful Shimmerz sprays and paints.
I started with the sprays, Don't be Suede, Truffle and Rolling in the Hay, adding some water and blending them a bit with a brush and a piece of kitchen towel. I deepened the colour with the Coffee Shimmerz paint and added some texture with the Muddy Buddy Texturez on the leaves.
Here's are a few close ups:

As you can see, I also added some background stamping and a few bits of text tissue tape, to add more interest to my background.
I added some shadows around the leaves with a dark water soluble pencil, to make them pop a bit more.
A die cut sentiment, cut from Kraftcard and then covered it with Muddy Buddy Texturez to finish it all off.
Well, there you have it, - quick, simple and super fun to do.

On your next Shimmerz order, mention my name (in the notes to merchant) and Stacey will send you a sample for FREE!!!! You can also check out  our Facebook page for more inspiration and watch out for giveaways and links to the NEW Shimmerz Shortz videos! Thank you for visiting and have fun creating!!

Earth Day

made a few special projects for Earth day. I feel that with all the changes that the Earth has been going through with global warming, the earth quake's, volcano's exploding and everything else that is really causing the Earth to be imbalanced, that it's really important that everyone concentrate on doing something good for the Earth. Gavin was born on Earth day - six years ago today, and for that reason, I want to see him enjoy Earth and all of it's natural beauty as much as I and past generations have been able to.  To honor Earth day, I made this beautiful layout, using a recycled cardboard for my background and then by using up some of my scraps of pattern paper. The theme today is Earth, and this layout "Save the Earth" talks about what I pray for when it comes to making the Earth a little better for my son and for future generations.

I added some of my Shimmerz paint in Blueberry Cobbler to the upper corner that is torn on the cardboard...look at how beautifully it shines!

I also sprayed the edges with my Shimmerz Spritz in Truffle to give this layout a little extra sheen. Again, just look at how beautifully the colors shine and how subtle this color is with the cardboard.

I really love how the cluster of flowers an also the title turned out, this layout was just too fun to make!

Such a fun layout and while promoting Mother Earth and her importance!
