Let's Walk Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with a fun layout that I made using the March Color Kitz!  I'm documenting a photo of my and my hubby on a walk.  It was cold and dreary that day but we got our walk in anyway!  I love how this layout came together!

The first thing I did for this layout was to spray the background with the Rockin Robin paint from the kit.  Since there would be a rainbow on this I wanted the blue to be the sky behind the rainbow.  I also splattered with some Well Blue Me Down paint to give the background some interest!

I then fussy cut the rainbow, circles, and flowers from patterned paper in the kit.  I distressed the circles and rainbow layers and added them all to the background when it was dry.

I added my photo on some foam tape to the right of the layout and then added my title to the left of the photo.  I wrote my journaling under the title in blue.  I then added some blue doodle hearts to the background and finished off my layout with some iridescent sequins.

Thanks for popping on to read all about my layout.  You can find a process video for this layout here: Let's Walk 12x12 Scrapbooking Layout

Fly With Me Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with another layout using the February Color Kitz to document a pic of me and my hubby on our way to Japan.  I had such a fun time creating this layout for such a special pic :)

I started by making my background.  I wanted to use the paints in the kit to make what looks like a color study in the background.  I added the paints with varying amounts of water to achieve this look.  I then cut down my watercolor paper and added a border with patterned paper.

I added my photo with a patterned paper mat to my page.  I then cut out my title using one of the patterned papers and some metal dies from my stash.

I then added 3 clusters to my page with die cuts.  I also added brown buttons and sequins from my stash.

Thanks for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you some crafty ideas on how to use your kitz!

I *heart* You Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all!  Today I'm using the new February Color Kitz to make this fun mixed media scrapbooking layout documenting me and my hubby at the tea garden in San Antonio!

The first thing that I did for this layout was to use 3 different paints from the kit to make the background.  I basically just added the colors in 3 separate blobs around the page.  I then added some ink stenciling with the Love stencil that came with the kit.

I then did my paper piecing.  I cut 3 strips of patterned paper to make the photo mat and the little banners on the side of my layout.

I then added my embellishments.  I added some die cuts as well as fussy cut the green flowers to add those around the page.  I also added some little bits from my stash as well.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use you kitz :)

Just Chilling Using the January Color Kitz

Hey all! Nicole here with my first layout using the January Color Kitz!  These kits are full of soft winter colors and just perfect for all your seasonal memories! Today I'm documenting me and my hubby at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

The first thing that I did was create the background!  I used all the paints in the kit to make a blob of beautiful on a 12x12 watercolor paper.  I then added some splatters and set aside to dry.

Next I did some paper piecing.  I have a little wedge that I use for a template and cut 5 of the patterned papers to make this circular element to the left of my photo.  I distressed all the papers and my photo and then attached to the background!

Lastly I added die cuts and one of the dotz from the kit, making sure to add the title "Just Chillin'".  I also added some journaling and some little iridescent bubbles to the page to finish it off!

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout!  I hope I gave you some good tips on how to use your Shimmerz product.  If you decided to grab this kit or anything else from the Shimmerz shop, please make sure to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order.

Deck the Halls Scrapbooking Layout

Hey all!  Today I'm bringing you another layout using the super fun and festive December Color Kitz!  I am documenting me decking out the Christmas tree!

I started this layout with the middle paper piecing.  I tore 2 patterned papers from the kit and layered them up in the center of the layout.  I then fussy cut some scalloped edge rectangles from another or the patterned papers.  I arranged them on my page and marked the areas I wanted to add mixed media to.  I wound up using the 2 pink paint colors from the kit to make my mixed media areas.  I then went again and put all my papers down as well as my pics.

I then added die cuts to the sides of the photos including Christmas trees, dotz, and wordy bits.

I finished my page with some ephemera for the title area, some journaling, and some Black Hole splatters.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my page and it gives you some idea of how to use your December Kit.  If you decide to grab this kit over at the shop, don't forget to use my name Nicole to the shopping cart notes to grab you a free gift with your order!  I also have a process video for this layout that you can watch here: Nicole's YouTube Channel

Pinners Scrapbook Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with my newest layout using the December Color Kitz!  I am documenting me and my cousin's trip to Pinners this last November.

The first thing I did for this layout was to make the background.  I used a plain piece of cardstock for this one and used all the colors to make this circular element on the page.

I then paper pieced my mats for my photo and die cut out the title using patterned papers from the kits.  I used some of the ephemera from the kit to add embellishing to the layout as well.

I finished with some do dads from my stash to add around the paint circle and some journaling.

Thanks for popping on to read about my layout.  I have a process video that you can watch for this layout here: Nicole's YouTube Channel

Thankful Scrapbooking Layout using the November Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here using the gorgeous November Color Kitz to make this fun layout documenting a beautiful fall sunset!

I started by making these cool die cut fringe pumpkins using paper from the kit and fussy cutting the THANKFUL banner.  I then used the rest of the patterned paper from the THANKFUL banner page, as well as the golden star paper to make my background.

I added my fringe pumpkins, picture and the THANKFUL banner to my background and then started to embellish.  I used the little medallion stickers from the kit and then die cuts to make three clusters on my page.

I finished my page with some journaling and splatters from the two vibes that come with the kit.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  You can still grab the November Color Kitz and use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order.  You can also watch my process for this video here: Thankful Scrapbooking Layout Process

Happy Halloween Scrapbooking Layout Using the October Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with a spooky fun scrapbooking layout using the October Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting me and my girls making some haunted gingerbread houses last year for Halloween.

The first thing that I did for this layout was to make these mixed media flowers.  I covered a watercolor paper with the orange and pink colors from the kit and then sent it through my cricut to cut these flowers.

Next I paper pieced my pattern paper and my photos on the page.  I then added the flowers to the upper right and lower left corners of my page.  I used black sequins from my stash to add the middle of the flowers.

I added embellishments from the kit to my clusters as well as a haunted house and a title piece.  I finished with my journaling and some Black Hole splatters.

Thanks for popping in to read about this layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas on how to use your kit!  You can find the kit here and don't forget to use my name in the shopping cart notes to get yourself a free gift with your order:

When Life Gives You Lemons | Sarah Millerhouse | July 2024 Color Kitz

Hello friends! I am so excited to share my first layout featuring the July Color Kitz! I absolutely LOVE the colors in this kit! It’s one of my favorite Kitz ever!

I started by adding color across the middle horizontally! I added both the yellow shades (Coloringz - No Yolking and Color Splash - Squeeze the Day) and let them blend and mix! I then used a stencil and ink from my stash to add little pie piece shapes that I thought looked like lemons! I then layered on the Shimmerz - Berry Smart to add a touch of pink! I added this with a brush and then went back and moved it around and smudged it with a piece of packaging.

I also painted the paintable ephemera sheet included in the Kitz and fussy cu
t out the images! This is where many of the beautiful strawberries and lemons came from! I also fussy cut lemons and leaves from patterned paper in the collection!

I added my photos in a strip down the middle, matted with patterned paper from the collection. I LOVE all the patterned papers on the July Kitz!! It was then time for some fun layering up the ephemera and pieces I had fussy cut around the photos! I had so much fun doing this and enjoyed every second of it!

I also layered in some tangled thread and the BEAUTIFUL sequins from the Bonuz Bundle! I added in a few more pieces of ephemera and my block of journaling! I had to print it in super tiny font since I had so much to say about this day! (Tip: I always go back and look to see if and what I posted about on Facebook about different life events with my kids. Often times, this makes the journaling process more specific and full of details that I might’ve otherwise forgotten. On this layout, I was able to print my exact words from the Facebook post and capture everything I wanted to remember!)

I added a little of the paint in places where most of it was covered, and then I added coordinating Pops of Color around my clusters.

I have all the details in the full process video here: Process Video

I would suggest that you purchase everything in this Color Kitz, the paper, and the Bonuz Bundle! Everything is beautiful and you won’t regret it! Remember that if you place an order, put my name - Sarah Millerhouse, in the comment section of your order to receive a free gift! Have a beautiful day!

Pure Joy | Sarah Millerhouse | June 2024 Color Kitz

Hello! I am excited to share this layout featuring the June Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz! Be sure to check out the process video linked below!

I started this layout by punching circles out of the beautiful patterned papers in the Kitz this month! I used 1.5 inch and 2.25 inch circle punches. I also painted the darker green (Coloringz - Keep Palm) and the blue (Vibez - Frost Bite) circles using the beautiful paints and gesso to create the square pattern. I used a back stitch the handstitch the circles going across the page.

Above and below my photos I added circles of paint using an ink blending tool. I added the Shimmerz - Moulin Rouge pink circles and Spritz - Sweet Pea purple circles. I also added open circles using a cup to stamp a larger circle with the Coloringz - Keep Palm.

I layered on flowers from the ephemera in the June Kitz and made leaves out of the same green paper I painted for the circles. I love all the color and texture the flowers add! I also pulled sequins from the previous January Bonus Bundle and crystals from my stash to add on and around the clusters. I also added Pops of Color in coordinating colors.

I have all the details in the full process video linked here: Process Video

Best Ever | Sarah Millerhouse | May 2024 Color Kitz

I am SO excited to share my first layout using the May Color Kitz! I love all the blues, and they were perfect for capturing a Mother's Day memory with my sweet mom, who happens to love navy blue! Be sure to check out the process video linked below!

This layout was definitely a process for me! It did not end up the way it started, and I made several drastic changes along the way to get it just right (check out the process video to learn more about the changes I made)!

I loved using four of the patterned papers in the Color Kitz Paper Collection on the background to make a wonky circle. I also fussy cut out the long sprig of blue flowers from one of the patterned papers.

I tucked in lots of ephemera down the sprig of flowers along the center of the layout to create a multi-layered look. I added craft foam in between all the layers to get just the right amount of dimension between the layers!

I used the Vibez - Don't Rain on My Parade, Shimmerz - All is Frost, and Shimmerz - Antique Lace at the top of the circle and bottom of the circle to layer behind the ephemera. I also used the Antique Lace on both sides of the circle to finish off the look.

I added some half pearls and crystals from my stash tucked into the floral cluster and around the ephemera to add some more visual interest. I also added in Pops of Colors in coordinating colors for some added detailing!

I hope this layout inspires you in some way!
