Here's my scrapbook layout using these divine colors...

"Shine"

Shine, indeed! What a glorious page!
These colors are a match made in heaven - so stunning!!!

Here's a better look for you....

A really beautiful layout for my beautiful girl!
I started my layout with a really fun and messy resist technique using an 'un-cut' cut file & Cold As Ice Vibez, Chickadee Spritz & Don't Citron Me Coloringz.
(You can check it out in the video at the end of this post)

I then enhanced the geometric floral cut file with more intentional layers of paint with the two exclusive new colors: Inklingz Something Like Blue & Wave of Blue, as well as Shimmerz Limoncello. These colors are beyond words - so insanely gorgeous!!!
I applied two coats of these colors to really make them noticeable over the sprayed layers.

I mixed some of the Cold As Ice Vibez into a white embossing paste, & applied it to my cardstock using the Shimmerz Paints Stencil: With Dewdrops.
I love the soft texture and interest this added to my design - so pretty!
I also splattered Cold As Ice Vibes & Something Like Blue Inklingz around the perimeter of where my cut file would be positioned. Simple, but so effective!

I foam mounted my shimmery cut file to create dimension and interest, and layered it onto my pretty  dewdrop base. I combined a bunch of Pink Paislee: Paige Evans: Bloom Street embellishments with the Daisy Buttons to evoke more of the Spring vibes. Love it!

To complete the look, I added the You Are My Sunshine Dotz and a few of last month's kit, Shimmerz Paints Spotz. Voila!

See it all come together in my detailed process video HERE

Thanks so much for watching!
I hope you enjoyed my video & feel inspired to get creating!

Thanks so much,
til next time,

Happy Arty Days,
Amanda xo

3 Ways to use a Cut File for Cards | Ericka Strange

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week has been going well and you have had a chance to get creative.  Ericka here, and I have three examples of ways you can use cut files on your cards. Today I'm using the beautiful April Missy Whidden Color Kit and the butterfly cut file included in it.

http://www.shimmerzpaints.com/shop.php#!/Color-Kitz-The-Missy-Whidden-April-Kit/p/134925682/category=33206055

For this glittery butterfly card, I placed double stick adhesive on one side of the the paper and then proceed to use the cut file in my Silhouette machine, sizing it to fit on an A2 card. Once it was finished cutting, I removed the adhesive on the butterfly portion and used glitter to cover the sticky adhesive.

I made quick background using Bristol Smooth paper and adding color to a scrap piece of plastic and smooshing the color on the paper. I let each layer dry and then added more color to get darker areas.

I glued the cut file onto the base and then added this sentiment from Reverse Confetti.
For my second card, I used the cut file on vellum that I also added double sided adhesive.

I used Shimmerz Bumble Bee and 1 Hot Mama Creameez for the background on watercolor paper. It's difficult to get a good picture of the texture that the vellum cut file gives to the card but here is a closer look.

I added some black Nuvo Drops and a sentiment that with some Antique Linen Distress Ink to the card. I finished it with a beautiful butterfly Dotz in a matching color.

For my third card, I used the cut file on some heavy cardstock and then used it as a stencil.

I sprayed the Vibez on the cardstock and then let the pattern dry.

This was a quick fun card that I added a Reverse Confetti Butterfly to with some blue sequins. I love the shimmer the Jeni B Bleu adds to any project.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful week! If you want to know more about the products I used feel free to stop over at my blog Strangely Creative.

Making Cards with the NEW April Missy Whidden COLOR KIT | Ericka Strange

Happy Spring! I hope your weather is cooperating and you can feel spring in the air! Ericka here, and I have two cards I made with the beautiful April Missy Whidden Kit!

I love these colors and this cut file was so fun to use in a card!  Take a look at all the fun things this kit has to offer.

http://www.shimmerzpaints.com/shop.php#!/Color-Kitz-The-Missy-Whidden-April-Kit/p/134925682/category=33206055

I love the butterfly cut file and all the ways you can use it. I first took some thin watercolor paper (that I might have borrowed from my daughter's stash) and played with the different products until I got a look I liked.

I used my Silhouette and sized the cut file so that it would fit nicely on a A2 card panel. I love these butterflies and how they are all connected to form a fun panel.

I then created a background panel with watercolor paper by taking some scrap plastic and the Jeni B Bleu, 1 Hot Mamma Creameez and Shimmerz Bumbly Bee and smooshing the color on to the paper.

I glued the cut file onto the panel once it was dry and added this butterfly from Reverse Confetti in a similar color.

After I finished my card, I had all these beautiful butterflies that I just couldn't throw away. So of course, I had to make another card using the scraps!

I made the panel using watercolor paper and painted on the beautiful colors. Then I started to layout all the butterflies I had saved from my card above.

I then alternated using glue and foam tape to give the butterflies a little dimension. I used the same stamp set from Reverse Confetti. I have a couple more cards that I'm working on using this fun cut file and the Dotz included. Stay tune for more lol.

Here is another look at the two cards I made using this beautiful kit.
