For the Birds...

Since summer is coming, I decided our feathered friends needed a new adorable home. (Okay, let's be honest, this little house is going to live inside where I can admire it all season long).

Using 'Tickle-Me-Turquoise I painted around the outside of the rooftop. I then alternated the roof tile ribbons with Carrot Top, Pixie Dust, Shamrock, & Pink.

For the perch, I painted two coats of Espresso. Then using a thin brush, I painted a line of Pixie Dust to accent the owls. For the two center pop-out owls, I painted Shamrock & Pink for a little extra shine.

Cupcake Cutie

This little cupcake creation is quickly becoming my favorite piece of 'food art'. All that's left is to decide on where it shall reside in my kitchen. Well that, and to share with you how it came to be...

I was inspired by my best friend & Janna Wilson. Janna posted this cupcake creation on her blog a few months back. While my bff was visiting, we each created our version of the cupcake.

To mine I added Vibez in Razzel-Dazzel Berry on the felt heart. On the heart pin that holds the felt heart, I added Shimmerz Pearlz in the color Pearl for a nice subtle look. On the cupcake wrapper, I spritzed Bamboo Leaf. And finally on the bottom felt ribbon, I applied Blingz in Pixie Dust.

I love how this turned out and I think Shimmerz added just the perfect touches that it needed. Thanks for stopping by!

Candy... Anyone??!!!

Hi guys! With Halloween around the corner, I wanted to share this fun treat holder idea with you. It's been boy approved by my 3 1/2 year old, who had complained, that I was only making "girl stuff" for Halloween! So, with that in mind I made this monster, for my little monster !!! :)

It's true, even Frankenstein can appreciate a little bit of sparkle! The bolts seen below, were covered with patterned paper then sprayed with Baby's Breath Spritz. The spritz really brought the bolts to life with a more metallic look.

Here's a punch-out that I used to embellish the box. I added Pixee Dust Blingz to the crescent shape, for some added texture and sparkle.

The chipboard letters here (the a, n, d and y) were covered with patterned paper also and then painted with the same Pixee Dust Blingz.

Supplies:
Shimmerz Paints - Pixee Dust Blingz and Baby's Breath Spritz.
Pink Paislee - Patterned papers, rub-ons, chipboard letters, punch-outs and glittered chipboard.
Other - Wood monster cut-out, eyes, box and embroidery floss all from Hobby Lobby.
