Tulip Card | Melinda Beltran

Happy Saturday Shimmerz friends,

Melinda here with you today and I am excited to share my latest card creation with you!
With spring time just around the corner and with all the cold, cold weather we have been having across the United States, I thought this would be a great reminder of what's to come! My finished card size is a top folding A2 size card.

I started by stamping my Tulip image from the Simply Enjoy Shimmerz Stampz set. I used some of the Sweet Cane Ink to stamp the image. I then proceeded to paint the tulips with some of the Bumbly Bee Shimmerz paint.

Next, I layered some of the Buddy's Favorite Color Shimmerz paint to give it some variegated. Where I was raised, they would have a large annual Tulip Festival and I would always be intrigued with these flowers that were so hearty, yet pretty and unique.

Next, I went to work on the leaves and used a combination of the Green Olive and So-Sappy Shimmerz Paints.

After finishing with the leaves, I set about to paint the background. I used the Colder Thank Ice Shimmerz paints for that soft, shimmery blue.

Once the blue was dry, I went ahead and added in some of the Golden Wheat Shimmerz paint. I wanted to warm up the background just a bit and give it some depth.

Once it was dry, I trimmed the panel down. I then splattered some water on to the piece and then dabbed up the spots. It pulled some of the paint up creating some water drop effects. I added a strip of plain red cardstock and splattered a little of my "reclaimed" water from my brush to give it some sparkly splatters. I also added a little border of twine for a little extra flair.

I stamped my sentiment and then trimmed it and added it to my card. I also scattered a few sequins for an extra touch.

Here is one last look at my completed card. It was such an enjoyable card to create. The process of painting is so relaxing and with the special shimmer of the paint, I don't have to add anything to it to get such an amazing look!

Cherish, a sunny layout with Karine

Hi,
I'm sharing today my first creation for this month. I think I needed more sun: I chose yellow as my main color.

I started out by coating my background paper with clear gesso. After that, I used two grid stencils with modeling paste. I then used my paint brush to apply my color: Glorious Day Vibez. It was pretty, but I thought there wasn't enough contrast.

I took a third stencil with Licorice Stick Dazzelerz to add a touch of black around my layout.

I first painted my title with Texturez Gold Mine. The color wasn't quite right, so I added Golden Wheat Shimmerz on top of it.

In a few places, I added some clear microbeads, which I painted with Golden Wheat Shimmerz.

Have a nice day.

Love, a lovely layout with Karine

Hi,

I'm sharing today a layout made with Shimmerz little pots of happiness.

On a Craft & You Design (Spring Garden Collection) paper previously covered with clear gesso, I applied modeling paste through a stencil. To add more texture, I also used joint tape and heavy gesso.

When came the time to choose my colors, I was guided by the paper and by the bricks colors in my photo. I choose three Shimmerz colors: Golden Wheat, Marigold and Pumpkin. I applied them with a paint brush and a little bit of water.

I made a few drops using the same Shimmerz colors and a paint brush.

I stamped a few motifs to add texture.
