Watercoloring and Doodling | Rubeena I.

Hello, Rubeena here from A Rare Ruby with another post as Creative Design Team member! In my last post, I shared how to create your own watercolor patterns using Shimmerz Paints watercolor paints. For this post, I will do something similar except I'll be focusing on loose floral watercolor patterns and adding my own doodles with a black and white pen.

I started by watercoloring botanical patterns. If you want to try this but don't know where to start, I would recommend browsing Pinterest or Google images for "watercolor florals" or something along those lines. There are so many tutorials and beautiful images online. I have not done this before but I've seen a lot of patterns over the years. I thought it was finally time to try on my own. Once I had some of the gorgeous shimmering colors down, I waited for it to dry. Then I freehanded some floral and leaf doodles. I added brush strokes and dot patterns to fill in some of the gaps. I tried to create slightly different looks with each one.

I turned each one into a card and added strips of pattern paper (one of my favorite things to do!) and the sentiments. I surprised myself with these - I thought they would be difficult, but they were a lot of fun. I hope you'll want to try some of your own. If so, be sure to tag me on social media to share with me. If you place an order, don't forget to mention my name Rubeena in the notes to get yourself a freebie! Thanks for stopping by! Until next time.
