Springtime in Paris a card by Astrid

Hello Shimmerz friends, thanks for dropping by here today. I have a card to share with you that nearly did not make it here....
I wanted to use the new Aqua Huez around a stamped and clear embossed image, this stamp is by Stampendous.
These are the products I used for this project:

Aqua Huez : Very Blueberry, Perfectly Purple, Red Hot and White Knuckles
Vibez: Before Dawn
Texturez: Teal Me No Lies
I started by stamping my image in Versamark and then clear embossing it. I also added some texture through a stencil in two corners with the Texturez.
Next I added colour with Aqua Huez and Vibez, until I had a sort of night time feel,  I made it darker around my stamped image to make it pop a bit more.
I removed the colour from the stamped image itself, by using the old method of putting the project under a piece of paper and then melting the embossing powder away with a hot iron. It kind of worked, but not brilliantly, as you can see I messed up the P in Paris, and at this point I nearly threw it all away. But then I remembered that I had a set of wooden letters about the right size, so I picked out the P and covered it with gesso and some crackle paint. I also put together some other embellishments and gessoed them.
After having covered them with gesso, I used my Huez and Vibez to colour them to match the rest of my project. I also stamped part of my stamp again, this time in black. I fussy cut the flowers and coloured them pink with a mix of red and white Huez. Now all I had to do was put my card together.
I mounted the main card on some black, then on a 8 by 8 card blanks. I also added some strips of tissue tape and some background stamping, a couple of words, and voila, card done.
Well, that's it from me for today,  I hope you like my card. Thank you for your visit, and like usual, don't forget, you can order Shimmerz products directly from the Shimmerz Paints Store. If you do, mention my name (Astrid Maclean) in the «Instruction to Merchant/seller» part of your order form (just below your name and address). A stunning cart Astrid, the add of the flourish and flower looks gorgeous, and the front of the card with Tour Eiffel oh so beautiful. I never tried the ,-melting away- technique , so wonderfully done, and the add of the extra P, just looks like it was always supposed to be there .

How beautiful; I love how "pulled this one out of the fire". Have not heard of that method with the iron, so will give it a try. The flowers around the Eiffel Tower look perfect. Inspirational work. TFS

Brilliant, Astrid!1 I loved the word "Paris" even without your addition of the letter, but adding makes everything even better! Wonderful techniques and step-outs - fabulous make and so inspirational, which I need at the moment, lol! xxx Lynn
