A Watercolor Santa, with Karine

Hi,

I'm here today to share my last creation for Shimmerz Paints for 2016. As Christmas is near, I wanted to make something Christmassy, but I didn't want to do a layout, so I went for a little ornament that made its way on my mantle this year.

I drew the Santa following an image I've pinned on Pinterest. I'm sorry, I can't find the link. I would love to give the credit to the person who drew this cute Santa first.

For his clothes, I used Red Hot Aqua Huez and Tidy Widy Texturez. For his skin, I used Tan Yer Hide Aqua Huez and My Clementine Creameez. I also added a bit of Piglet Aqua Huez on his cheeks. His beird, hair and moustache, I shaded with No One's Chrome Inklingz and Thunder Storm Creameez.

The belt, I colored with Inter-BLACK-Tic Aqua Huez. For the buckle, I used Sheer Bliss Inklingz. His little stuffed deer, I painted with Don't Be Suede Coloringz and a bit of Tan Yer Hide Aqua Huez.

I used Ride the Tide Creameez around Santa, and Green Acres Creameez under his feet.

I hope you like it.

A Shimmery Christmas

Hi Everyone, it is Beck BT here and today sharing a scrapbook page.  Although it is Summer here in Australia at Christmas, we often get opportunites to enjoy snow themed decorations and scenes.  There is a street of houses not too far from home that really go to town with lighting their houses up at Christmas.  It is so lovely to park the car and walk along checking them all out.

I used a beautiful collection by Carta Bella to create my page called Snow Fun.  I teamed that up with my Shimmers products for a beautiful effect

Shimmerz Products used-

Shimmerz Pixie Dust
Shimmerz Jilted Jade
Inklingz No One's Chrome

I used the products on my background, first starting out with the Shimmerz pots.  I took some of the Shimmerz colours with a pallet knife and dabbed it onto my background.  I then took the second color and repeated the process.  Next I added some splatter using the No One's Chrome.  I did give the page a dry off before adding more of the Inklingz.

Here are some more pics showing the beautiful shimmery background of the Shimmerz pots.

I hope you enjoyed my share today and found some inspiration.  May you have a Merry Christmas full of lots of joy and laughter.

Spring is in the air

Hi Everyone, it is Beck BT here and today I'm going all floral... why do you ask?  Because FINALLY Spring seems to have hit Melbourne!  Yes I'm so happy to say the weather is finally warming up a little even if we are having some extremes from one day to the next with the air conditioning in fine force one day to the heater being fired up the next!

So for my project today I created a sweet card using some Shimmerz Creameez in the main.

Shimmerz Products used-

Pocket and background:
Creameez - Firm Foundation
Creameez - Piggy Pink
Creameez - Trippin' in the Tropics

Flowers:
Creameez - Blue Lagoon
Creameez - Boogie Boardin Blue
Creameez - No One's Chrome
Shimmerz - Tickle Me Turquoise

For the pocket I first added the Creameez in layers to a canvas sheet and then die cut the pocket.  I love how this give a sweet material look to the pocket as though it was taken off a piece of clothing.

To create the sweet flowers I added layers of creameez again but this time to some cardstock.  I added the Inklingz as the last layer.  After drying off each layer at a time I die cut the flowers and then layered them finishing them with a metallic center.  Who needs to buy expensive flowers?  I love how I can make my own in the colors I desire so easily.

Adding some of the Piggy Pink Creameez to the background of the white cardstock base really softens the overall effect of the card.  Adding some splatters in the colours featured in the flowers really helps to tie them into the overall design of the card.

I hope you enjoyed my share today and found some inspiration.  I also hope the weather wherever in the world you are is being kind to your liking!
