Remember Give Thanks

Thanksgiving is sneaking upon us...are you ready for it?! Have you had a chance to participate in the "What are you thankful for" challenge yet?? Well I have a little something thankful here to inspire you (hopefully!) :)

Imagine some Tickle Me Turquoise Shimmerz on a Thanksgiving card. Having a hard time?? Well let me show you what I did! I took a piece of vanilla cardstock as my base and distressed the edges. After doing that, I applied Tickle Me Turquoise Shimmerz all over the outer edges. LOVED the look, however it was a bit bright. No worries!!! More Shimmerz to the rescue! I then reached for my Antique Lace Shimmerz and sponged that right on top! Take a look at the result!

It almost gives a patina effect and I am loving it!! And my finished card...

So yeah, not exactly your typical Thanksgiving card, but fun nonetheless!! I loved reaching for such a bright summery color even in the midst of fall. Just goes to show...you can use ALL your Shimmerz colors ALL the time!

Hope you liked it! :)

Sneaking in a quick post

I just had to share that I love the new Licorice Shimmerz Spritz!!! I took a stark white large flower and sprayed it down and absolutely LOVED the result! See here. :) With Halloween quickly approaching, Licorice Spritz is a must have! Now, I could have made the flower darker by letting dry and reapplying, but this first round of spray came out perfect. Did I mention how fast it dried?? This is what I truly love about this product. I was able to glue the dry flower to my project within 1 minute of it being completely soaked of spritz. YEAH!

Thanks for letting me "sneak in" on your Friday with a quick post! I may not like Licorice candy, but I LOVE my Licorice Spritz!!

A Little Shimmerz Can Pack a Punch!

And when I say little, I mean this little guy! This sweet little butterfly actually just had a simple outline for wings. Well, what butterfly has wings that don't shimmer?! Not mine. :) The color was a PERFECT match with one of the new summer colors, Island Salsa Blingz. It painted on beautifully even after I had reservations because it was a rub-on. YAY!!! This picture just really doesn't do it justice (because it's under the clear top), but the shimmer really does shine.

And here's the rest!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to "enjoy the small stuff." :)

Paper Popsicles...round 2!

Let me preface my post by saying, I RARELY scrapbook. So when we were asked if we would like to participate in a Paper Popsicles swap using scrapbooking supplies, a resounding YES could be heard through my computer! I'm always up for a challenge! Never mind the fact that it took me hours to put something together, LOL. So here goes....bear with me folks. If it's absolutely horrid to you, I blame my lack of practice in scrapbooking! :)

Now, I absolutely loved this page! I can't begin to gush on and on about what fabulous products they supplied us with. I believe that the patterned paper was from SEI, but I can't recall the name. :) I incorporated the Shimmerz onto my page by doing one of my favorite techniques. I inked up my flower stamp with Versamark and then spritzed with Baby's Breath and then stamped. You end up with a beautiful Shimmerfied stamped image! Here's a closeup :)

After that, I tried my hand at another layout.

Isn't that paper just gorgeous?! They were Pebbles paper. On this one, I used Green Olive Shimmerz on the large flower and December Sky Blingz on the smaller one. You can actually see the Shimmerz pretty well on the flowers, but here is a closeup for clarity. :)

I thank you for looking and for sharing one of (I hope many more) scrapbook layouts I can complete in this lifetime, LOL!

Art Nouveau by Cornish Heritage Farms

Isn't it beautiful?! I got to work with this beautiful Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms called Art Nouveau. I wanted to challenge myself and use ONLY this image as the primary focus on my card. But backgrounds are for backgrounds, right? Not this time! First, let me showcase how I used my Shimmerz. :)

I went with using my Shimmerz Baby's Breath Spritz all over my stamped image...LOVE this! (Off topic, I've even sprayed this on some of my daughter's clothes and accessories, LOL!). And here is the full card.

As you can see, I brought the background image to my foreground and made it a focal point. YAY! Mission accomplished! :)

Two ways to use Shimmerz Spritz

I just love finding new ways to use my Shimmerz products, and boy did I not disappoint myself today! LOL! First, I used my Mudpie Shimmerz Spritz as the "ink" for my background stamp. How did I do it you ask?? Well let me just tell you! :) I first inked up my backgrounder in Versamark and then sprayed a few squirts all over it. Stamped with it, and voila! This is a glimpse of what I got.

I see you are already ready for more! Ok...next, I took a piece of white chipbard and covered it with iridescent glitter. Well, I just couldn't have any white on this card, so I spritzed my glittered chipboard with Bamboo Leaf Spritz. Lookee!

(You may need to click the images for the full Shimmerz effectz)

And here is the full card.

I hope you enjoyed the mini-tutorial and you are inspired to spray away! :)

Masking, Shimmerz Spritz and You

Since I've gotten my Shimmerz Spritz, I thought they would be just GREAT sprayed over a mask. I took it upon myself to buy more masks than a person would need (because that's just the way I am) and I took baby steps and created my first masked project! Here are the supplies I used.

And here's a closeup of the result.

So I masked this bottom panel of my card with those little mini masks from Tim Holtz and sprayed Bed of Roses all over. My goodness did it just look stunning! I then randomly stamped the flower image in black, thus, making my own patterned paper. :) I also sprayed the flower...which was stark white, with the same Bed of Roses Spritz for a stunning look.

And here's the full card.

Whattaya think? Neato Toledo?? :)
