Hello, Shimmerz Paints fans!
Sandi Clarkson here with you today sharing my first Shimmerz "play"
... which actually evolved from simply playing around with some of the new paint colors! I was curious how the colors would look on some watercolor cardstock I had on hand.
First, I stamped the floral portion of the "Simply Enjoy" stamp set with some black archival ink and then began to play with Going Peach Side, highlighting with Limoncello and a white gelato from my stash.
When I was satisfied with the look, I began coloring the stems and leaves with Olive U Truly, It's Mint to Be and Green Olive. For highlighting, I hit a few places with more of the Limoncello.
The background of the card was colorized with a very diluted wash of Pool Me Close which looks so amazing here! To blend everything, I spattered with the Pool Me Close and the Green Olive. For added dimension, I painted the edges of the card with Going Peach Side and blended it heavily in toward the center.
Just a little close-up of the stamped images.
Lastly, I decided to add a ribbon, a stamped banner (motto from Simply Enjoy stamp set) and some adhesive backed pearls for texture and added dimension.
Just a quick little experiment before I start my first Shimmerz layout! Be sure to include my name SANDI on your Shimmerz order for a little free product gift!
Thanks for coming by today.
Things have been extra busy around my house lately but I hope to get crafty again soon!
Sandi
