Altered Canvas Board with Astrid

Hello all, today I would like to share a little canvas board I made with you.
This started life as a little 5 x 7 canvas board to which I attached several die cuts and a little paper clay embellishment made with the help of a mould. This is what it looked like to start with:
Here is a list of the products I used to turn it into what it looks like now:
Vibez: Egg Noggin, Palm Reader and Before Dawn
Shimmerz: Celery, Golden Wheat, Cofee
Inlingz: Penny For Your Thoughts.
Below a few step by step photos of what I did: I started by adding some clear crackle glaze and when dry gave it a few sprays of Palm Reader, letting it sink into the cracks

Next I started the process of slowly deepening the colours with a mix of sprays and paints applied loosely, to give a kind of back ground glow.
Next came the painstaking work of applying a variety of colours to the openings between the die cuts and the die cuts themselves.
Bringing out the textures on the ornament with the help of all these lovely shimmering paints.
The white on the flowers was done with gesso, all the rest is the Shimmerz paints, adding shadows with darker colours around the flowers to bring them to the foreground a bit more.
The very outer edge, after using the Coffee Shimmerz paint, was deepened a bit further still using a Big Brush pen.
And here at last the finished canvas. I fixed a little easel stand (created with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die) at the back, so it can stand up. I like giving these little canvasses to people as an extra special card and they are great fun to do, specially with the help of all these lovely shimmering paints and sprays.

Well, that's it for today, thanks for your visit like always. Don’t forget, if you mention my name in the "comments" section of your shopping cart when placing your Shimmerz order you will receive free paint. Shop Shimmerz HERE and connect with us on Facebook, too!

This really is beautiful. I'm so glad I dropped by to sense the full canvas. It is Definitely worth the time to get those gorgeous paints in those tiny cracks and crevices. Love the color palette and the clear crackle finish just makes the project. What a special gift to give someone special. Mary Elizabeth

Simply gorgeous! Love the subtle crackle in the background and that's my favourite version of the wildflower die-cuts I've seen so far - fabulous!
