Anything but the kitchen sink
I made this layout for a challenge I'm hosting at A Million Memories. It's called "Anything but the kitchen sink," and the challenge is to create a layout using non-scrapbooking items found in a kitchen.
I made the green and purple flowers out of coffee filters: I cut flower shapes out of coffee filters, then I sprayed them with Shimmerz and Spritz. Once dry, I layered all the petals with other found items from my kitchen (see below). I used Olive Branch Spritz and Green Olive and Key Lime Shimmerz on the green flowers, and I used Lilac Shimmerz on the purple flowers.
I hand-stitched around the edge of my layout with twine from my kitchen junk drawer, then I painted the twine with Gold Glimmer Shimmerz.
Other kitchen items I used:
*CHEESECLOTH -- I cut out flower shapes and added them to my coffee filter flowers.
*PLASTIC COFFEE CAN LID -- I punched flowers and cut out leaves from the plastic lids, then I colored the plastic with alcohol ink and Staz-On ink.
*INSTANT COFFEE -- I mixed a little instant coffee with gesso and painted around the edges of the photos.
*CARDBOARD COFFEE CUP JACKET/INSULATOR -- I punched a couple little butterflies out of the cardboard, then I added some Stickles and pearls.
I think I need to go have a cup of coffee now!
