Altered Wood Veneer Embellishments With Sara Scraps

Hello Everyone! Sara on the blog with you today to share a little photo tutorial on how to alter and create unique embellishments using Shimmerz Paints.

In my stash I had these adorable bee embellishments. They are made from wood veneer and plain..all ready to be altered.

I started with a layer of white acrylic paint so I had a nice white canvas to work with
And now it was time to paint!
I chose Shimmerz paint colors in Angel Wings , Miner Miner 49er, and Coffee.
I chose Coffee instesd black because I didnt want a harsh black..just something dark but not too
dark and Coffee was perfect!
I put on a nice coat of paint to get lots of that beautiful shimmer on my embellishments. And since I had my paintbrush out, I decided to put a lovely, shimmery coat of Miner Miner 49er on some other wood veneer elements I planned to use on my page too!
Once everything was completely dry, it was time to create!

I love how the painted wood veneer adds, not just shimmer, but also warmth to the wood veneer. Wood veneer can be a bit meh but the paint makes it pop and I love that!
These were the perfect colors to use on my bee and his honeycomb! I added a bit of Nuvo drops to the bee after he was all dry for a bit of dimension.
So next time you are looking to dress up some wood veneer embellishments, grab your Shimmerz paint colors and have a little painting party! You'll love the results, I promise!

Have A Lovely Day!
