Fairytale Mood

Hello lovely Shimmerz friends and thanks for dropping by today!
I am sharing a bit of a different sort of project, that kind of happened all by itself....
As you can see it's a double spread in one of my journals, but let me start by telling you what Shimmerz projects I used:

When I started, I had no idea where this was going, I just knew I wanted to play in my journal. So I started by covering a double page in thick gesso and when that was dry spread on the Texturez in two corners. When it had all dried I then sprayed some of my chosen colours, keeping the lighter ones towards the top.
Now if you are wondering what the difference between some of the products is, do check out the paint store, for each product there is a very short (2.5 min) video that give you the low down on what each of the different sprays and paints can do, well worth a look!

Now for my project, - where I had sprayed the darker colours over the texture, it started to give me the idea of a rocky landscape, so that is what took me to the following stages....
I added the top layer of a paper serviette and started to create a hint of a light source (at this point I was not sure whether it was going to be the sun or the moon). I die cut a sticky note with a circular die, used it as a mask and then sprayed some more of the Egg Nogging around it. As it had been a pink sticky note, with the moisture of the spray it gave off some pink colour, but in the end I was quite happy with that.

The project needed a focal image, so I took a little vintage image from my stash, fussy cut the little fairy and the birds and adhered it to the bottom of my page.
Now it needed more of  a landscape to bring it all together. So I took out my acrylic paints and painted this little fairytale dream scape. Here you can see the first stage, painting some trees, emphasizing the sun a bit more and the first hint of a little rock pool.
And here you can see the second stage, I darkened the trees somewhat, added another one and painted a few more details, like the birds in the sky and a waterfall running into the rock pool.

Well, that's it pretty much. As you can see, it is perfectly possible to mix Shimmerz with other art supplies you might have in your stash already.

Thank you so much for your visit like always.
