Take It Easy Using the September Color Kitz

Hey all!  Nicole here with my first page using the September Color Kitz!  I am documenting a photo of me in my favorite room from TeamLabs Borderless in Tokyo.

I first cut the butterfly cut file that is exclusive for the Color Kitz out of kraft paper.  I then lightly traced it on a sheet of watercolor paper.  I used all the paints from the Kitz to make the background behind the butterfly.  Once dry I attached the butterfly to the page with foam tape.  I then attached my watercolor page to the yellow patterned paper as shown.

Next I added my photo to the right of the butterfly.  I then added a little cluster of embellishments from the kit next to my photo.

Lastly I added a little cluster to the top left of my page.  I cut out two strips of paper from the patterned papers, embellished with die cuts and then added some puffy stickers and a dot.

Thanks so much for coming on to read about my layout!  I hope it gets you in a crafty mood.  If you decided to grab this kit from the shop don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift with your order!

Summer Memories Using the July Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with my first layout using the beautiful July Color Kitz!  I'm documenting this silly photo of my youngest while we were traveling back in May!

The first thing I did for this layout was add some texture paste through a heart stencil on a piece of Foundations Mixed Media Paper for my background.  I then used all the colors that come in the kit to add lines of paint going down the middle, making sure to add some splatters as well.

I then grabbed the black and white floral paper that comes with the kit and colored 3 flowers with all the colors and painted some leaves with the Evergreen Shimmerz as well.

Next I added some torn patterned paper to my layout along with my photo that was matted with some different paper from the kit.  I added all my flowers and leaves and then I added embellishments from the kit as well as my title.  Lastly I added some splatters of Black Hole to the layout to add that finishing touch.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  You can grab the kit and the Black Hole paint in the Shimmerz shop and use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a free gift.  You can also watch my process video for this layout here: Summer Memories Mixed Media Scrapbooking Layout

Mermaid Vibes Beach Layout Using the June Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with this fun mixed media, beachy layout using the June Color Kitz.  I started by making my background on a sheet of Foundations paper with 2 sprays from the kit.  I have a video for this that you can watch here: Beachy Background

I then distressed my pic and put it smack dab in the middle of the layout!  I used the die cuts that came with the kit for my title and lots of embellies throughout the layout!

I fussy cut some gold shells from one of the papers in the kit and added those, along with some stickers amongst the other embellies.  I also added the mermaid scales dot to the upper right of my photo.

I finished by adding little doodles, splatters, and sequins to my layout!  Thanks so much for popping in to read about my layout!  I had so much fun creating this one!  You can grab the June Color Kitz in the shop and don't forget to add my name Nicole to the shopping cart to grab a little freebie with your order!  You can also watch my process for this here: Mermaid Vibes Beach Layout

Spe-shell Layout Using the June Color Kitz

Hey all! Nicole here with my first layout of the month.  I'm using the June Color Kitz which is full of beach side goodness!  I'm actually just documenting a photo of my and my youngest LA bound on the plane, but I thought this collection was so fun and wanted to use it.

The first thing I did for this layout was to make the colorful background.  I used three of the shimmerz paints that come in the kit... Jeni B Blue, Lilac Blossom, and Stay Golden.  I have a video showing how to make the background here: Shimmerz unboxing and mixed media backgrounds

Next I used the papers from the kit to mat my photos and create some arrows on the right side of the page.  I am scraplifting from Jessica Michaels so this layout might look familiar, thanks Jessica!  I also fussy cut out some of the gold shells from another patterned paper.

Finally I used lots of goodies from the kit to embellish my page.  I also used some buttons and sequins from my stash to add some extra to it.  I finished with some splatters of the Jeni B Blue.

Thanks for popping in to read all about my layout.  I hope it gets you in the crafty mood.  You can also watch a video of my process here: Spe-shell Scrapbooking Process Video

I then used lots and lots of stickers from the sticker sheet in the kit.  I added them to the like colored blocks of paint with glue or foam tape!

I used a couple of pieces of the die cuts included in the kit, like the banner and the journaling card!

Hello (Kitty) Using the May Shimmerz Paints Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with my first layout using the May Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting my sweet kitty cat Malcolm... he actually stole my spot on the couch here, but I could never be mad at him, I'll just sit somewhere else :)

I started this layout by using all the paints that come in the kit this month.  I just brushed them on the paper in big strokes.  The paints are absolutely beautiful!

I then used papers from the kit that are the same colors as the paints to add to my layout.  I tore little strips and popped them up on the strips of paint.

Next I used die cuts, stickers, and one of the dotz to add my embellishing with like colors again!  I finished this layout by adding my journaling and some little doodle hearts.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I hope it gets you in the mood to use your paints!  You can grab the kitz here and don't forget to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a little freebie with your order... Color Kitz Bundle

Waiting For Dad Scrapbook Layout

Hey all! Nicole here with another fun layout using the Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting my black lab peeking out the curtains waiting for her dad to come home.  She is sooooo cute!

To start this layout I used the Mustard Seed Vibez to make a swatch card (used as a layering piece) and the background of this layout.  I used Foundations paper to make both the card and the background.

I layered up the swatch card, the white and orange giant grid patterned paper, the blue floral paper, and my photo to make a statement for the middle of my layout.  I distressed all of them and popped them up on foam tape.

Next I fussy cut out the black and white flowers and created little groups of them cascading down my layout.  I then used ephemera and stickers from the kit to add to those little clusters.

I added a title which I die cut from some black card stock.  To finish off this layout I added some black sequins and my journaling.

Thanks for popping in and reading about my layout.  I hope it gives you some ideas of how to use the kit.  You can still grab the kit from the website, just remember to use my name Nicole in the shopping cart notes to get a little freebie with your purchase.

Until next time, Nicole

Hangin Out Scrapbook Layout Using the March Color Kitz

Hey all, Nicole here with a page I created with the March Color Kitz Bundle.  I am documenting my youngest and her friend.  I'm also using a sketch from the 30 Days of Sketches Facebook Group.

The first thing that I did for this layout is find the patterned paper I wanted to use for the triangles.  I decided to use this stripy paper from the kit.  I then cut them into two triangles.  I laid them down on the page to see where I wanted them to go and then I added spray from the kit.

When the paint was dry I then added my triangles back to the page with double sided sticky tape.  I added my photo down here to the lower right triangle, making sure to lay it down a bit wonky!  I then decided to add a cluster of dotz and wood veneer to each of these triangles.

Lastly I added this little interest over to the lower left of the page.  I used a sticker that kinda looks like a postage stamp and then added some of the patterned paper on top.  I then added my journaling and my title.

Thanks so much for stopping in to read about my layout.  You can find the kit here: Color Kitz Bundle If you decide to grab the kit or anything else from the Shimmerz shop, don't forget to use my name, Nicole, in the shopping cart notes so you can get a little freebie with your order! XOXO Scrapbooking Layout using the February Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with my newest layout using the February Color Kitz Bundle!  I made the background in my unboxing video here: https://youtu.be/GYiF6c1EVO0

After my background was made with the paints I then matted the foundations paper onto the pink polka dot paper from the kit.

I then took the paper with the heart cherries and the heart suckers and fussy cut those out.  I then glued them down to my layout.

I embellished with little bits from the die cuts and then with the word sticker sheet.  I also used one of the dotz in the upper-right cluster.

After all my embellishing was done I added some journaling and then drew some doodle hearts around my clusters.

Thanks so much for popping on to read about my layout.  I also have a process video that I can share with you here: https://youtu.be/5ivh0G37K0c

Puzzles & Coffee Layout Using the Shimmerz January Color Kit Bundle

Hey all! Nicole here with my second layout of the month.  I'm using the January Color Kitz Bundle to make this layout documenting some puzzle time and a cuppa coffee!

The first thing that I did for this layout was to cut the pink hearts paper slanted across a white cardstock.  I marked with a pencil where those papers lay on the card stock and then added some paints from the kit using a stamp to control where the paint was going.  I then ran my layout through a laminator to get it as flat as possible. Next I added my patterned paper to the layout.

I added some patterned paper behind my pics for a little more dimension.  I added them to opposite corners of the page, popped up on some foam tape.

Next I added the die cuts from the kit.  I added lots of dies that I thought were warm and cozy since this was a stay inside, nice and warm activity.

Also in the kit are some cute stickers that includes trees, little sparkles, and hearts.  I decided to add these among my clusters around the layout.  I added my title with some rubon alphas from my stash and my page was complete.

You can also watch my process for this video here: https://youtu.be/2kpMAKuylhg

Thanks so much for checking out my process for this page.  I hope it gives you come ideas on how to use your kit.

Until next time, Nicole Santos

Merry and Bright Using the December Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all, Nicole here with my first project of the month using the new Decmeber Color Kitz Bundle!  If you like pink Christmas, this is the kit for you!

I started by making my background page.  I used a white foundations page then added all the colors from the kitz as brushstrokes down the top part of the page, adding splatters as well.  You can watch me make this page here: https://youtu.be/IO0qTzKJLdM

When my page was dry I started to build up the page with paper, ephemera, and little bits from the kit.  I started by adding torn strips of the floral pink paper to where the paints are and a small one down at the bottom of the page.  I then added my photos to the top part of the page with some dimensional foam tape.  I then added the acetate snowflakes up near the photos.  I added 3 clusters to my page, one near the top left of the photos, another near the lower right of the photos and the last one down at the bottom near the center of the page.

To finish this page I added my jornaling near the bottom cluster.  To add some more black around the page, I doodled some hearts around the clusters and added some dots as well.  The last thing that I added were the silver stars from the kit.

I also have a process video that you can watch for this layout as well here: https://youtu.be/H11sZXU-VIA

Get 'Em Girl Using the September Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all! Nicole here with another layout using the September Color Kitz Bundle!  This time I made my back ground with the In Deep Coloringz and the Moss-terious Green Vibez from the kit.  I made this background with my unboxing of this kit and you can see it here: https://youtu.be/o21UqAAlc3o

I started my page with paper piecing. I fussy cut out the flowers from the bottom of one of the pages, and tore out the blue stripe from a paper as well.  I distressed those and my pics and placed them on the page.

I used some leftover fussy cut flowers to the lower right of my photos to start a cluster down there.  I grabbed the blue flowers from the die cuts and the sticker sheet to make by three clusters.  I added some embellishments from my stash to finish them off.

I also used some alphas from my stash to make my title and then finished my page with journaling.

Thanks so much for stopping by to read about my page.  I also have a process video that you can watch for this page here: https://youtu.be/Zy8BOBuyI2o

Aloha Using the August Color Kitz Bundle

Hey all! Nicole here with another layout using the beautiful August Color Kitz Bundle!  Today I'm documenting a turtle that was swimming at the beach we were at in Hawaii.

The first thing that i did for this layout was to make the bright blue background.  I used the Love Ocean #9 and sprayed on a Foundations Mixed Media paper.  I then took the nozzle and splattered it around everywhere.

I cut out some of the waves from the patterned paper in the kit and also cut my pictures to look like waves.  I then distressed them all.  I also cut some of the white off of the die cut pieces from the kit as well.

I placed my pictures and little waves on my layout.  I then clustered some die cuts around it.  I also made a little cluster in the "sky" with the sun and a tag where I added my journaling.  I added some little doodles to my waves and in the "ocean" to give some interest and finished my layout with some sequins from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping in to read about my layout.  I also have process video that you can watch here: https://youtu.be/c8cnITm3Uh8
