Hi Shimmerz Fans!
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today. You are in store for a bright and colorful scrapbook inspiration! I've used the stunning February Color Kitz to document some sweet pictures of my son, and I just love the end result. Be sure to drop by the Shimmerz Paints Shop to pick up your kit, and remember to type my name "Lorimar" in the comments section of your next Shimmerz order so you can receive a freebie.
Let's jump right in! For my base, I selected a subtle black and white patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studios These Days Collection. Without adding gesso, I sprayed and splattered Beach Glass followed by splatters of Before Dawn, Sunflower, Rednecking, and Coral Reef. I repeated the process twice in order to get a fuller look of the mixed media. While my base was drying, I started to work on backing the cut file (part of the kit); I gathered inspiration from the colors in the pictures in order to pick patterned paper to back it. All of the embellishments and patterned papers that I use from now on on the layout will be from the Paige Evans Bungalow Lane collection.
Once my cut file was backed and the base dried, I began to rearrange the cut file and pictures on the base. The cut file itself is popped up on craft foam for added dimension. The rest of the embellishments were arranged around these items and then I finished off the layout with the Epoxy Hearts and Dotz from the kit.
That's it! Pretty straightforward, right? Be sure to check out the close-ups down below, and I'll see soon with another layout.
Take care,
Lorimar
