We shall start with a piece of bright white textured cardstock. With some gesso and modeling paste, we start with using the Paige Evans Sunburst Stencil. After my paste has dried, I apply a mixed layer of Chick-A-Dee Spritz and Limoncello Shimmerz to create this vibrant sparkly beach yellow. I dilute it by spraying just a tiny bit of water through the yellow spots that I went a little crazy on. I then let that set up and dry for about 30 minutes.
While that's drying, I then focus on the layered hibiscus flower cut file. Available only in the July Color Kitz Collection. Mixing up Pip-Pip Cherry-O Shimmerz (Available separate from the Color Kitz) and Pink Moscato Vibez to create this stunning pink! How much more realistic to a true hibiscus can you get? After spraying and painting my other hibiscus flowers with the remaining Color Kitz colors, I set those aside for about 10 minutes to dry. My page still needed a little something, so I add some Layered Petite Flowers and a "Summer Lovin'" phrase cut files. Both brand new files available in the Shimmerz Shop. Also using the coordinating colors from the July Color Kitz Collection.
Now that everything is dry, I start game planning my placements. I hot glue all my pieces together and decide on a photo. Of course, it has to be a beach theme. I picked my all time favorite photo of my husband and I on our first vacation to Newport Beach, California. I then use some scrap ripped up paper I had saved away from a previous Maggie Holmes Collection. Once everything is layered and glued, the final touch is some Shimmerz Dotz!
