Color Kitz: Hey Hot Stuff! || Natalie Dill

Hey friends! Natalie here today using the March Color Kitz, and this kit was screaming for me to create a rainbow layout!

Find my process video here!

This month's kit includes:
Sweet Pea Spritz: A new exclusive color to this kit.
This color is a soft lilac purple with silver shimmer.
Cotton Candy Spritz
Goldie Lox Shimmeringz
Refresh Mint Creameez
Sky's The Limit Creameez
1 exclusive Hot Air Balloon cut file created by Shimmerz Paints
1 package of 8 random assortment of Shimmerz Paints watercolor hot air balloon ephemera stickers
1 set of "Hello Sun" Dotz
1 set of Shimmerz Paints Spotz: Pastel color Enamel stickers - a new Shimmerz Paints product coming to the Shimmerz Shop Spring 2020.

After using gesso on my white background paper, I created a diagonal rainbow by first applying the Refresh Mint Creameez, then applying the Goldie Lox Shimmeringz.  I let the two blend a bit, but also used my heat gun to dry a good portion of the colors. I wanted some blend, but also to be able to see five distinct colors.

Next I applied the Sky's the Limit Creameez with the same technique - allowing it to blend a bit with the Refresh Mint, but also allowing plenty dry alone in the single color.

The beautiful Cotton Candy Spritz went in one corner to dry, then I applied the lovely new Sweet Pea Spritz in the opposite corner. This color is exclusive to this month's Color Kitz! It's absolutely stunning.

I added texture paste clouds freehand once my background was done. White glitter went on the clouds before they dried.

I cut the kitz's exclusive hot air balloon cut file out of vellum so as to not cover up much of the rainbow background page, and I love the subtle design it gives!

We are challenging ourselves to not use any patterned paper on our Shimmerz layouts this month. I will argue that glitter cardstock doesn't equal patterned paper! LOL. I usedd that to back my balloon basket, and the flower was made with the Refresh Mint creameez painted on paper, then giant drips dropped which textured nicely.

I embellished with the Hot Air Balloon stickers and new Spotz! The spotz are wonderfully sticky, but since I had so much gesso and paint, I added some glue to them just in case.

I hope you've been inspired by my rainbow, spring layout created with the March Color Kitz & go grab your own before they're gone!

xoxo, Natalie
