Altered Amazon folder by Astrid

Hello Shimmerz friends, hope you are well and happy. Today I am sharing a little altered project with you, - Shimmerz sprays and paints can be used in so many different ways...
This is what I made, and below you can see how it started. One of these folders that Amazon likes to use to send stuff in. Well, with a bit of altering this has so many new uses......
I started by covering the whole out side with two layers of gesso. I also added some texture crackle paste through a stencil, a Blue Fern chip board piece and then it was time to start with colour.
These are the colours I used for this project:
Vibez in Egg Noggin, Jeni B Bleu and Rolling in the Hay, Night Moves
Coloringz in Oh Say Can U Sea and Heidi Ho Bleu
Shimmerz: Sunny, Key Lime and Coffee
A first layer of colour, just using the Vibez and Colorings sprays.
I added two scraps of the top layer of a paper serviette using a decoupage medium. When it had dried I covered these pieces with clear gesso, this so they would not absorb the next colours too much.

Next I deepened the colours using the Shimmerz paints and also some more of the sprays, but this time carefully applying them in certain places with a paint brush.
Deepening the colour still further and adding some background stamping with a text stamp and some stencilling using black Archival ink.
The chip board was coloured with a mix of Coffee and Key Lime Shimmerz paint.
And here the final front cover. I love the added texture from the ripped cardboard.
Two Ideaology Hitch Fasteners and a piece of string help the folder to close. You could use elastic as well of course or a little magnet.
The inside was covered in scrap book paper and I added some tissue washi tape for strength on the folds.
Well, there you have it, an altered folder to keep all sorts of bits and pieces in.

Thank you so much for your visit like always.
Don’t forget, if you mention my name in the "comments" section of your shopping cart when placing your Shimmerz order you will receive free paint. Shop Shimmerz HERE and connect with us on Facebook, too!
