Meet our Guest Designer for September...Melinda Thompson

Our Guest Designer this month is Melinda Thompson from Australia.
She is an amazing artist!

Here is a little more about Melinda.

"Hi my name is Melinda Thompson but most people in the scrapbooking world know me as Min. I am married to a wonderful husband Brad of 13 years and we have two adorable boys, Riley 6 years, Finlay 4 years who are my constant source of inspiration. I am 3 weeks off having our 3rd precious baby so I can’t wait to scrap those little baby photos again! We live in a growing country town called Emerald in Central Queensland, Australia and just love the quiet country life. I love to scrap and journal about the little & insignificant details of my boy’s life. My style is always evolving, not sure if I have a style as I love to experiment with new techniques, so it often depends on what I am scrapping or the challenge. Even though I have two boys, you will always see flowers here and there on my LO’s. But I do love to use any mixed media/art mediums on my layouts and love any distressing technique, misting/masking, stamping...the list goes on. I am so very honoured to be given this opportunity to be Guest Designer this month at Shimmerz. Shimmerz has been an all time favourite product of mine since I found it a couple of years a go now..its one of the first things my hand reaches for when I start a project! Looking forward to sharing my creations with you all this month.

So Welcome Melinda.....

Here she is to share her first Project!

Hi Everyone,

Its all about Bright Colours this month so for my 1st layout I have used lots of gorgeous bright Shimmerz products not only on my background but to alter my flowers.

Here is a list of what I used:

Background Coloringz – Lime in da Coconut
Coloringz – No Yoking
Pearlz – Green with Envy Altered Flowers
Spritz – Caribbean Sunset
Shimmerz – Pink Blingz – Hottie Pink

I love to use Shimmerz to alter things, weather it be flowers, chipboard, backgrounds and so on. Here is a close up of an altered flower. Love the shimmer and shine and lots of texture it adds to everything when altering with Shimmerz.

For my background I have used modelling paste with a mask and then randomly spritzed the 2 Coloringz. Love the bright colours in the Coloringz range. To add extra depth and deepen the colours further I have unscrewed the bottle top and using a fine paint brush I painted in between the masked area as well as some Pearlz – Green with Envy (one of my favourite colours!)

Thanks so much for visiting! "
