If any of you mom's out there (er, I mean, Easter Bunnies) are tired of that messy, plastic Easter grass that fills all of your little one's baskets... today's post is for you! This Easter Bunny gets frustrated with the clean-up of that stuff, not to mention it sticking to everything, and my youngest trying to eat it... so this year, I decided to do something a little different. And fun.
I had a couple of old pairs of khaki pants lying around and I decided to cut those into messy looking strips. I made two light colored batches and two darker, since I have 2 girls and 2 boys - and all their baskets need some grass in them. This is what I started with...
And after using Mandarin Mai Tai, Pink Stiletto, No Yoking, and Ruby on the light colored strips, and Lime in Da Coconut, Mama Sings the Blues, and Sea Monkey on the darker strips, this is what they looked like...
As I sprayed the color, I used my other hand to rotate, flip, and mix up the strips in each pile, so the color ended up random and beautiful! Here are some close-ups...
And here are my baskets, with my homemade grass in them! Best part? I can reuse this grass over and over, yay! No mess, totally easy, and I think it looks pretty Easter cool. :)
