Usually, I shy away from too-dark paint and mist colors, for fear that they will overpower my pages. NOT SO with Vertigre.
This color may look like a bit of a bad boy in the bottle, but it really is a keeper -- and quite the charmer, playing well with other colors. Dena mentioned in yesterday's post that Vertigre blends well with other colors, and I discovered this to be 100% true! For instance, I used Vertigre Vibez as a base color over the Sweet Vintage muslin fabric flower, and then I sprayed over it lightly with 4 Leaf Clover Spritz, to create a darker, more subdued green. I also added Vertigre over the Sweet Vintage green doily to darken it a bit.
As much as I love my doggy dear, Vertigre is the real star of this layout, in that it is responsible for the "blocked" background. I folded the Lily Bee patterned paper into squares, sprayed Vertigre Vibez on the corners, and, since I wanted a darker color on the creases, I sprayed Vertigre onto the bottom of a cardboard box, and rubbed the edges of the folded paper in it. I uncreased the paper, added a bit more Vertigre and 4 Leaf Clover in sections, and ta da! I love the effect.
