It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like......

Fall!! It's beginning to look like fall today at Shimmerz!! I have absolutely been so inspired this week to get out the Shimmerz and try to paint everything that was within my reach. I have the pretty nails to prove it :D

First up today, we have Dena! In Dena's own words....

Fun for Fall:

Fall has finally knocked on our doors and with Fall comes RAIN, at least in the Pac Northwest it does! And what better product to mimic the look of rain than our Shimmerz Spritz? To achieve this rain drop look, I simply sprayed a shot of Shimmerz into the cap, dipped the top of my bottle back into the cap and then flung the Shimmerz Spritz onto my page. I held the page up and then blew the drips down the page. By using a combination of colors (Eucalyptus combined with our BRAND NEW Rockafella Blue) it brought added interest to the page and complimented the colors in the picture as well. A few spritzes of our new Treasured Hymn miniz helped tie in the antique look.

Now speaking of antique, did you know that you can use our Shimmerz paints on lace? I used a lovely piece of Webster's Pages eyelet trim but wanted it to have a more antique look to it. Enter in...Shimmerz new ANTIQUE LACE paint. I applied a light layer with a foam brush and allowed it to dry. Then to bring out the dainty little daisy pattern in the lace, I sprayed some Rockafella Blue Spritz Miniz onto a piece of plastic, dabbed my finger in it and then lightly brushed my paint dipped finger over the daisy pattern! Just one more fun way to use your Shimmerz paints!







So this Fall if you feel those rainy day blues creeping up, brush them away with our Fall Vintage Collection!

With fall being right around the corner here, getting the new line of Shimmerz Vintage colors and new mini Spritz colors was just perfect timing! I decided that I could finally make my friend a frame that I have had in my mind for a while now and with using Crate papers and the new Shimmerz colors, it was a match made in heaven. I went ahead and colored my Prima flowers with Shimmerz Spritz Miniz in Treasured Hymn and then the new Vintage Shimmerz in Antique Lace and Vintage Wine for the other two flowers. The colors work really well with the shabby papers that I used to cover up the frame I used.




Also, for the little tag at the bottom of the frame, I decided to use the Vintage Shimmerz in Mossy Stone with my rubber stamps. I first went ahead and put some paint down on the tag, and wiped it off while it was still wet in order to just give a hint of the green color in the background. I then went ahead and with a paint brush, painted on the color to the rubber stamp I wanted to use – just on the word “True Friends” and did a step repeat in order to get a vanishing look and have the shimmery color with the word. I then let it dry and went over the middle word with Staz On ink and have a “shadow” effect thanks to the Shimmerz Mossy Stone, as you can see in this close up photo:


In the end what you have here is a classy gift item, which was very easy to make and has that extra shimmery effect which I have come to love with the projects I create! I hope you enjoy this project and really recommend the new colors to you all, as they are just PERFECT!!!!
