Make Any Scrapbook Theme Match Your Style | Melissa Minor

Today I'm showing how you can make any scrapbook theme match your style. I'm using the June 2025 Color Kitz. It's a beautiful kit full of adorable underwater and mermaid themed ephemera. But what do you do when you don't have any beach or swimming photos to scrapbook?

I drew inspiration from the colors in the kit. I started by applying some clear gesso to a white 12x12 background paper. I then pulled out my favorite colors of paint in the kit. I love the Jeni B Bleu-Vibez and Peacock's Plume-Shimmerz. All the colors are gorgeous but these 2 are my favorites! I added these 2 colors going down the center of the page. Then I tore one of the pattern papers and added a strip to each side right and left with the paint showing in the center.

I backed my photos with the pretty patterned purple flower paper. I adhered my photos using some wet tacky glue. Then I turned to my collection of dies. I pulled out some flower dies and leaf dies. I cut several different flowers in various sizes from a piece of the patterned paper. I also die cut some using some cardstock and painted to match the colors I already had used on the layout.

I pulled out a few pieces of ephemera from the June kit that matched and that were non-themed. I mixed the hearts into the flower clusters. I also made a few messy tangled thread nests and adhered behind the epoxy flair button. For my title I used an acrylic title from the stash. A few sequins and pearls and this layout is complete!
