Hey, it's MK! Today I'd thought I'd go old school and paint my roses red...with a bit of grunge added in, of course!
I remember doing this technique on seam binding ribbon and using reinkers, but I have to say the Shimmerz sprays make this process much easier and less messy.
To start, I put my roses in a ceramic bowl and sprayed them using Vibez Rose Gold Red. I swirled the roses around a bit until I got the saturation I wanted.
I took the roses out of the bowl and spread them across my glass mat. Then I used the tubing from the Color Splash Bronze Baby to paint the tips of my roses, giving them that grunge look.
Once the roses were dry, I cut them apart and added a glue dot behind each one to keep them from unraveling.
Returning back to the layout...I tore an edge of a scrap of paper and, using the tubing from Bronze Baby, I painted the torn edge to give it a metallic finish.
I laid out all my elements (photos, leaves, gear cut file, labels and number stickers) and began gluing them to the page.
Once everything was glued down, I used Color Splash Whites of Their Eyes to splatter over all the elements giving me that "filled in" look.
That is all that I have for you today. Thank you so much for stopping by! Here is the process video, if you'd like to see how this layout came together:
