Beautiful Getaway | Shimmerz Paints July Color Kitz | Sarah Millerhouse

Hello! I’m excited to share this layout featuring the Shimmerz Paints July Color Kitz and Paper Kitz! This is one of my favorite Shimmerz layouts I’ve made, and I loved using these beautiful mediums to paint in abstract circles! The flowers in the July patterned papers are truly stunning, and their style inspired my art on the background! I have a full process video linked at the end of this post!!

I started this layout by using a stencil from Vicki Boutin that features imperfect large circles. I traced the insides of the circles on my background using a black permanent marker. I used ink that I knew wouldn't bleed when I added all the wet mediums. I then added all of the colors in the July Color Kitz to randomly paint in the circles in patches. I added colors to the circles in random places until all the circles were full. I also pulled out a few other colors to add in to match the brighter tones in the flowers found in the patterned papers. Once the circles were mostly dry, I went back and added splatters of all the colors. 

July Color Kitz Colors: 3 Inklingz - Pistachio, Blue Spruce, and French Twist; 2 NEW Vibez - Green Tide Monster and Tangerine Dream

Additional Colors Used:Shimmerz - Carrot Top and Limoncello; Inklingz - Naughty or Nice

I layered on tons of flowers that I fussy-cut out of the beautiful July patterned papers! The flowers are absolutely gorgeous!! I bent up all the petals and pinched the tips of the leaves to add great texture and make the flowers look like they are growing out of the paper. 

I also fussy-cut butterflies from the July patterned papers and added those above my title. I used two acrylic perspextives that coordinated perfectly from Bramble Fox to create my "Beautiful Getaway" title. 

I finished the layout by adding in gems and half pearls and lots of Liquid Pearls and Pops of Color to the flowers and around my clusters. I also added on the "Summer" Dotz from the July Kitz.
