Hey, it's MK showing off an amazing background created with Shimmerz Paints, a stencil and ink.
Let's get started:
First, I arranged my papers and photo on my base cardstock and drew a light line around them with a pencil so I knew where my background was going to show. Now it's time to play. I started very small with Blingz Spiced Cider. Then added Inklings Burnished Buckle, making the design a little bigger and traveling up to the top of the page. I'll set that off to the side to dry while I work on my chipboard pieces.
I started by using Inklings Tarnished Treasure to paint the numbers. Then I used Inklings Penny 4 Your Thoughts to paint the gears. Lastly, I used Shimmerz Antique Lace to paint the circles. I didn't wait for the colors to dry inbetween so that way I could get some cool blends where they meet and give the pieces a little more grungy look.
Once everything was dry, I went back to my background with a stencil, brown ink and Shimmerz Antique Lace to widened my design slightly to try to soften some of the edges.
Now that everything is dry, it's time to put the papers and photo back between the pencil lines. I popped them up on foam so I could add the chipboard pieces to the background as well. I used liquid glue to adhere all the pieces to the background.
After all my pieces we put into place, I used Vibez Hot Fudge to distress the edges of the background. I also splattered with the new Color Splash Penny in Yer Pocket and Coloringz Don't be Suede for the finishing touches.
That is all that I have for you today. Thank you so much for stopping by! Here is the process video, if you'd like to see how this layout came together:
I hope you have a great one and I'll check back in soon.
