Hey All! MK here! Sharing a layout that I created using inspiration from a layout that I found on Pinterest.
The colors I used for this layout are: Sage it Ain't So; Key Lime; Frosty's Buns; Steely Blue Eyes; Rose Gold Red & Hot Fudge.
A few other supplies that I used to create this layout: Scraps of paper & cardboard; wax twine from years ago; seagulls from a Dusty Attic/49 & Market chipboard set; Nuvo Stone Drops & bare branches wood pieces.
I trimmed all my scraps down to 4 1/4 x 3 1/4. I didn't have a blue cardstock that matched, so I took Steely Blue Eyes & Frosty's Buns to make the blue I'd like to use for a photo mat. Then distressed all the edges. I cut my cardboard down to 4x5 and inked the edges with Key Lime & Sage it Ain't So. I let the ink drip from sie to side to allow the ink to get into the grooves of the cardboard.
While that was drying, I used the packaging technique with Sage it Ain't So to create a diamond-shaped haze behind my photo and my small cluster in the bottom left.
While that was drying, I used the Nuvo stone drops to color my bare branches. Using Steely Blue Eyes, I colored the title. While the title was still wet, I came in with Frosty's Buns at the bottom to give a slight ombre effect. I also took Hot Fudge spray and used the nozzle to color my seagulls leaving a large drop in the center of the birds and letting the color fade out to their wings.Lastly, I ripped my paper down from the top of the diamond-shaped mixed media to the bottom, distressed the edges of each side and then glued them to a dark brown cardstock leaving a slight gap that wasn't too distracting. Putting the whole layout together by adding the waxy twine behind the photo cluster and the embellishment cluster in the bottom left corner. I used Hot Fudge & Rose Gold Red to splatter in a few areas around the photo cluster & embellishments.
