Fly, - a Spring card with Astrid

Hello lovely Shimmerz friends, thanks for popping in here today. I have a Spring card to share with you:
As I am writing this, it's actually snowing where I live (Scotland UK) so I really needed something to remind me it is actually meant to be Spring.....
These are the products I used for this large 8 x 8 card:
Vibez: Egg Noggin
Jenny B Blue
Before Dawn
Coloringz: Heidi Ho Blue
Spritz:Rocka-Fella-Blue
Inklingz: Miner Miner 49ner
I have a few step by step photos, so let me take you through my process:

I started with a neutral coloured bit of scrapbook paper and added some random strips of slightly darker other paper cut offs.
Next I added some texture with the help of a couple of Prima stencils and texture paste. When that had dried I added some clear gesso to help the sprays mingle better and not soak straight into the paper.
I added a first layer of colour with my Blue and Turqoise coloured sprays.
Followed with some gold and darker hues, partially added with the help of a brush. - The effect was a bit too dark for my liking.....
This was remedied with some gesso, dry-brushed particularly over some of the textured areas. As you can see, I also added some stenciling to frame my page a bit.

Now for the finishing touches.
I die-cut a large dragonfly, using the Tim Holtz Layered Dragonfly die and matching embossing folder and coloured it with matching Shimmerz products, using a brush.
A sentiment with some added shadow, both around the words and the dragonfly using the Before Dawn Spray and a brush again.
And here is the finished card. The title was created with some word stickers coloured with the Before Dawn again.

Well that's it, - thank you so much for your visit like always.
Don’t forget, if you mention my name in the "comments" section of your shopping cart when placing your Shimmerz order you will receive free paint. Shop Shimmerz HERE and connect with us on Facebook, too! And finally, keep your fingers crossed for me that Spring will arrive in Scotland soon too, I really can do with a bit of sunshine:)

Gorgeous - the dry-brushed texture over the paper scraps makes for such a detailed, delicious background, and the dragonfly is lovely hovering over the top.
