Why is it that with practically every project I make,
I gravitate toward using Shimmerz?
It's magnetic!

Speaking of magnets,
I made these for my classroom,
using the new Shimmerz products --
Fiery Fiesta and Pop Art Pink Vibez,
and Blue By U, Peas-Be-Mine, and Luscious Lilac Pearlz --
as well as some of my other Shimmerz favorites.
I began by using Photoshop to compile a list
of some of my favorite quotations about reading and writing:

I went through my drawer o' scraps
and assembled various patterns on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper,
ensuring that the papers would later be aligned with the quotes.
Then the real fun began -- funking up these little pieces with Shimmerz!
I didn't want to coat the paper with paint,
or create something too bold, since I still needed to add text,
but I wanted a textured look,
so I brushed paint on cardstock
and then pressed the cardstock over the "target" piece.
Using textured cardstock created some really fun effects!
I also covered some of the pieces with Shimmerz Vibez,
and then used the cardstock as a blotter.
Once everything dried,
I ran the paper through the printer, and ta da!
I cut each paper to fit a rectangular (1" x 2") EcoArtBoard piece,
and adhered the paper as well as a magnet backing.
I just know they'll look great in my classroom!

Gorgeous!!!!
