Hi everyone. It's Naomi here.
I would like to share a Layout made using this lovely Valentines day limited edition pack.

I coloured some of the love hearts in red and pink using "My bleeding heart", "Cotton candy" and "Hottie pink" and also later on I added "Sparklicious" onto some of them.

I painted these hand cut love hearts with "Hottie Pink"

Then on some of the love hearts, I added "Sparklicious"

OK. Here it is, A little crazy layout...

Metal note-book.

Every year I'm used to alter a note-book and then, as usual, I do not use it anymore: I realized that's a very shame. This year I've changed my strategy: I started using the note-book and only then I altered it. So now I'm sure that has become indispensable and I'll have to use it all year long.

I started covering the book-cover with adhesive canvas, then I glued some metal objects and finally I covered everything with the metal scotch.

With the help of Aqua Marine and Coffee Shimmerz I gave e touch of old to my new note-book!

Yes, I have a thing for the Beach!!

Hi, Stacey here with you today! As you might be aware I just love to create beach themed layouts! We are lucky to live on the Eastern Coast of Australia and there are so many lovely beaches around this area. I dream of a beach house.........

I love adding gorgeous shimmer and shine to all of my shells, netting, flowers, papers etc and making them all blend together. On this layout I pulled the blue tones out of the papers and used the following products:

Vibez in Egg Noggin

Spritz in Rock a Fella Blue

Spritz in Sapphire

Pearlz in Blue into Town

Blingz in Gold Glimmer

I embellish my layouts first and then add my Shimmerz products along with gesso and other art mediums. Blending and layering the mists and pots as I go! Just a couple of closeups.

Texture, flicks, and drips!

Hi everyone! Heidi here, with a layout that I had a blast making. Offered within the Swirlydoos January monthly kit, the palette within these BoBunny papers is so interesting and so I chose colors that coordinated from Shimmerz to enhance the project. I used Treasured Hymn Spritz, Sea Monkey, Jeni B Bleu, and Before Dawn Vibez, and Choc-O-Lot Shimmerz.

To create a fun texture in the background, I smeared gesso on randomly with an old credit card - then spritzed on my Jeni B Bleu and Sea Monkey. Then after adding all the elements, I painted the edges of my photo - distressing it - with Treasured Hymn and then flicked the tube of the nozzle to add bits of the color elsewhere.

Then to finish the project off, I dripped my Choc-O-Lot Shimmerz in various places around the clusters that I had created. What I first thought to be an awfully retro color scheme - seems so beautiful now!!

Seriously Silly

Hi everyone! Jaime with you today with a seriously silly & super simple layout..say that five times fast lol! Seriously..no, really...I have a super simple layout all about my seriously silly Jilly. I wanted the main focus of this layout to be the photos. I love these photos of her because they are SO her. Sometimes serious, but always silly. A few drops of Shimmerz and some dots of Pearlz and viola! A simply shimmery layout!

To make the polka dots I simply used a No. 2 pencil eraser, dipped it into the Powder Puff Pearlz and then pressed it in random areas around the layout. I love the fun polka dots which are perfect for the theme of this layout! I also love the shimmer that the Pearlz provides - just gorgeous!

Cool Background! ( I think anyway!)

Hi, everyone.
It's Naomi Here. Today I'd like to show you how you can make your own cool patterned paper with shimmerz products.

It's very easy and simple.
All you need is some kitchen paper and some sort of stencil.
I sprayed some shimmerz onto a kitchen paper (as below)

I repeated the same with different colours.
There you have them.

Then I torn them into small (ish) pieces then stuck them onto a paper (anyway you like)
And here is the finished "your own cool patterned paper".

love these bright colours together.

A mix of Enamelz, Vibez and Pearlz!

Hi there, Lydell here again!
I have a page to share here and some fun stuff I did with Shimmerz Paints and Enamelz. They go hand in hand for some outstanding effects.
Here is what I used for todays project....

Shimmerz in

Pearlz -Grey Flannel

Vibez- Egg Noggin (a limited edition colour which I believe may still be available if you hurry!!!)

Enamelz - Gold Digger and Molten Metal

.......And here is my page.

You cant see it very well, but I know its there......I applied texture paste to the background with a palette knife, let it dry and added white paint and buttercup cream acrylic paint to set it all off. I sprinkled Molten Metal Enamelz over this wet paint in splotches and heated to melt, creating puddles of the metal look, (You can see it slightly under the middle yellow flower and just above it......)

I painted the tag in the Grey Flannel Pearlz and sprinkled the edges with the gold digger while the paint was wet, creating a pretty and textured border around the tag. Much prettier than how it started off!

I sprayed each crocheted flower with the Vibez Egg Noggin. These were flowers sent to us some time ago from Petaloo, they were brilliant white!

I also sprayed the Prima felt label you can see here under the photo, and various other flowers....and some lace too!!!!

I sprayed some other Petaloo flowers and dipped them in the Gold Digger Enamelz, totally covering the flower. I added metal button centres to these, and they are really pretty!

So thats what I played with today.

AND I have a quick tip to share. I have many many Shimmerz Paints like the Pearlz 'Grey Flannel' in the tubs. These can sometimes be left sitting for quite some time before you get a chance to use each colour regularly and can tend to separate and dry up a bit. My Grey Flannel had not been opened in a very long time, and had gone quite thick (it would no longer shake up in the tub......I know Shimmerz says to add distilled water, which is probably best for your paints, but I just add some water from the tap and just stir it through well to rejuvenate them back to how they are meant to be. I dont find it alters the intensity of the colour or the Shimmery properties. Because they are water based and wash out so well in water, adding water (preferrably distilled) brings them right back to life. Remember add a little at a time though.....too much may effect the saturation of the colour.....better to add not enough than too much!!!!!

Hope you are enthused about all the possibilities Shimmerz Paints offers, Especially to extend the use of your stash and create Projects which meld colours beautifully- all acheived by recolouring embellishments. Get stuck into your Shimmerz!

Paerlz are creamy, luxurious, pearlescent and available in 14 beautiful colors that make them suitable for any creation. On this page I used all the Pearlz colors that Shimmerz has produced. I like to combine them, shading them and coloring all.

Going...Going...Gone!! A fun layout with Shimmerz!!

Hi again everyone!!! I know I've been quiet over here at Shimmerz - I took December off because of how crazy hectic it was! We went on our winter vacation to the mountains (which was heavenly!!) and of course Christmas was wonderfully chaotic just as it always is lol!

I started off the New Year with following through on one of my many goals...I purged and re-organized my scrapbook space. Anyone else make that one of their resolutions for 2012? Alrighty, enough rambling, on with the layout!

This layout is about the typical challenge we all face when photographing our children...(or perhaps it's just my crazy kids??!) They're totally into it for 2.5 seconds and then wham! They want no part of it. These photos clearly show the break down of my kids, step by step. I love these photos because they are SO my kids...they crack me up!

I used a piece of die cut patterned paper as my misting stencil - and added a few drops of mist around the page. I then attached the die cut tags and layered a piece of patterned paper under the die cut number. I fussy cut the clouds from a piece of patterned paper and then embossed it to add some extra shimmer.

Make it a little more alive!

Hi everyone. It’s Naomi here.
Today I would like to share with you how I put a little shiny touch to cut-out flowers and leaves from a patterned paper.
They look pretty as they they are but using shimmerz products they can look a lot prettier!

So here I fussy cut the flowers and leaves from a patterned paper.
I used some of Shimmerz products along with water-based pastels to make them look shiny by adding some colours.

They definitely look more "alive", don't they?

For the cut -out branches and leaves, I used shimmerz coffee colour, too.

I also used the Apricot shimmerz to colour some white flowers.

Some people might think this is all too much, too timid, time consuming and needing too much patience but I enjoy putting that extra time and effort to make something a little more special than it already is.
And Shimmerz products certainly take a big part of that.

Bingz Gold Glimmer

Here is the layout using the accented cut-out flowers.

Are You Craving Some Color?

Aaaah, it has been so grey outside. I have been looking forward to getting snow, but it hasn't shown it's sparkly face, so all I have to look at outside is the grey clouds, the dry grass, and I am craving some bright, bold, sparkly, color. OR some snow which just makes everything beautiful! This mood plunged me into creating myself a canvas using the boldest of all the Shimmerz paints, Coloringz!

It's an odd shaped canvas, 6 inches wide, by 12 inches long... and I began by layering on strips of neutral colored cotton tape, laces, paper, and hemp. I then started at the top with some Anchors Away Coloringz that blended into some Mon Shari Coloringz, which then gave way to Pink Stiletto Coloringz, and then No Yoking! I did allow the Pink Stiletto and No Yoking to blend, not drying inbetween, to get that fantastic orange hue in the middle.

Aaaah, the colors are BEAUTIFUL. I love how these Shimmerz paints blend and can create so much texture within a piece of artwork! To finish the canvas off, and to achieve the snow-like sparkle that I have been craving, I added a bit more gesso and molding paste for texture around the edges.

Party Album!

Hi everyone, hope you had a lovely weekend!! So I am now officially out of my 20's (as of just before Christmas). This weekend my hubby and I are having a combined 30th Birthday party. His 30th is in February and yes, he always reminds me that I am older than him, therefore making me a cougar....lol!!!!!! Anyway with that I picked up this 30th album and needed to decorate it. We are having all these colours at our party and I wanted it all to match. I inserted some cardstock in the middle of the album for everyone to sign at our party. I shimmered pretty much everything on here from the flowers to the transperency to the background......I am increasingly becoming more addicted to Shimmerz!!!!

I used two lovely shades of Shimmerz Pearls Paints (the ones in the pots)

Papa Purple and Blue into town

I just played with the paints in the background, then coloured some elements here and there to make them co-ordinate with the page a little better.

This is THE nicest part about using Shimmerz Paints......

Colouring items to match.

I either just paint items solid straight from the pot, or dip my brush in, dab it on a craft sheet, and load my brush with water and mix it there right on the craft sheet, making a more watered down wash of the colour. I coloured the tiny flowers this way.

I also just dip my fingers into this 'wash' and colour things this way too, I did this with the Little smiley face ticket, creating a less than perfect streaky finish.

A Canvas..........

Hi Everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful festive season:):) Christmas has been and gone for another year, we are still getting over it in my household and finding new homes for new toys and games! Anyway, today I would love to share with you, a canvas, I created. When I was asked to create this for a friend for her Secret santa gift to her brother in law, I was thrilled. Little did we know how hard it was going to be to get a picture of their twins, 1 boy and 1 girl. But we got there in the end, I kept the canvas very neutral and I was quite surprised with the result. Not much of an olive green person, but I just love how it turned out.

Here are just a couple of shots of how I created the background. First off I sprayed on my butterfly mask with Vibez in Egg Noggin and Coloringz in Ivy League. I always let my paint drip and flick it back onto my canvas.

I then added some texture to the butterflies with some modelling paste and then I added some Shimmerz in Antique Lace and blended it in with my finger.

I then added all of my embellishments and added more highlights of Shimmerz to the flower edges and paper edges:)

Christmas ornaments.

Christmas has just passed, but you can still breathe the air of celebration in our homes decorated with bright lights and shiny decorations. Regarding decoration, today I will show you two projects made with some recycled materials.

The first one, the decorations made of music sheet, star-shape cut and fixed with the help of dressmaker pins on a polystyrene ball. Santa Baby Pearlz and Egg Nogginn Vibez add the magic touch to the decorations.

In the second one, I made the gift tags for my family's and friends' gifts. Grinchy Green Blingz has been a great help to make the shape of the Christmas tree.

I am so excited to be a part of this awesome team. Thank you Stac for having me on board.

OK, here is my first LO using shimmerz products for the very first time. I absolutely loved playing with them. I only wish I’d met them much earlier.

As I love using acrylic paints, I firstly prepared the background with gesso and paints and then blended in some of the shimemrz products.

Please take a moment to get to know Naomi a bit more. . . .

Hello. My name is Naomi Capps. I am Japanese living in the countryside of NSW, Australia with my husband who is very supportive and understanding of my addiction, 2 beautiful children age 4 and 2 and 2 dogs.
I am a stay at home mum who loves cooking, sewing, photography and of course paper-crafting.
I started to scrapbook back in 2008 when my son turned 1 year old with the intention of keeping memories. Now I am into 4th year of “paper and photo” business and it’s become my daily dose of "must have “pleasure to keep me sane.
I like to spend quite a bit of time doing up a page (you could say I am slow..) I like to be a little messy on my pages, love putting layer over layer, sometimes I don’t know where and when to stop. I also love using gesso, paints and crayons.
I am very honoured and excited to be a member of Shimmerz Paints and I hope that I can share my passion and creativity with everyone.
I can’t wait to get inspired by all the talented people here and am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful work.

In the spirit of last minute ideas...

This week my girls and I were discussing teacher gifts for Christmas, and came to the consensus that none of the girls teachers (Ahna has 5, Sarenna only 1) would be enthralled with the idea of receiving another apple, ornament, or mug, so we decided to think a little simpler.

Off to the market we went, coming home with baking supplies for cookies (for us), an order placed for a ham (for Christmas) and this beautiful bouquet of roses.

Now, as beautiful as they are, we wanted to make them look a bit more Christmas-y, so we pulled out some paints. Specifically, my Shimmerz Blingz in Gold Glimmer and Grinchy Green.

While I looked over their shoulders, my girls gently and lightly dipped those brushes in, and coated (somewhat artistically) the white part of the petals. Having been the first time that I allowed my children to dip into my cherished stash of Shimmerz, they were grinning from ear to ear.

Can you see the Gold Glimmer all over these petals? I hope so - it is amazing how much they shimmered in the light! We then added some pearls for added oomph, thinking what girl doesn't love a little bling...

And then we decided to go with the green on the other half of the bouquet... each teacher will receive two flowers, one gold and one green, tied together with a sparkly bow.

Blingy, beautiful, blossoms.

From start to finish, 5 minutes.

And I bet whoever receives them will smile.

After all, who doesn't like receiving flowers?

Hey there!

I dont know about you, but I have had so much on in the last fortnight!!!! Preparing gifts, shopping, Birthdays parties, Sleep overs, Christmas table decorations, putting up the tree (late this year! Whoops) School finishing up......I could go on...(and on....)I sat down last night and decided not to do anything Christmas related. I played in my art journal. It was very refreshing. I drew and doodled for a few hours, then I got out my Shimmerz Paints. These are so lovely to paint with. I used the paint pots, which consisted of Blingz, Pearlz and Shimmerz and I chose colours from all the ranges.....Here is what it looked like after I finished..........

I just drew with a fine black pen and then coloured it with Shimmerz and a fine paintbrush to get the details.

Sunday, at our church, there will be a small Christmas market. The mothers of my son's kindergarten have decided to make cakes for sale.

To sell more cookies, I prepared the packaging using acetate sheets enriched with Christmas decorations. To make the packaging super shiny and ready for Christmas I used the new Limited Edition products, ideal fo our Christmas projects.

Yes, my baby's first Christmas, can't believe he is 6 months already. Oh I just love this time of year, so much love, magic, giving and thankfulness:):) So I had to scrap some pics of Mason in his first Christmas photoshoot! I only just received my New Limited Edition Christmas colours today so instead I used my own recipe:

I loved using the Enamelz. The fine glitter gives the layout a sparkly, magical feel!

I love distressing my edges and adding Gesso and then Coloringz to these edges adds a perfect touch of colour and texture. More Enamelz on the chipboard holly too:)

CRASH a chaotic use of color!

My son is an active, chaotic, messy, little, bugger.

That is what today's layout is all about!

Using tons of color, in different ways, and making it work... :)

What fun this was! I started out by distressing the background with Vibez in Before Dawn, using a "mask", or well, bits of grungeboard turned mask anyways, lol. I then used Coloringz in My Bleeding Heart, flicking spots all over the page before laying down my bits of scraps and papers.

After adding my photo and many of the bits, I used Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and No Yoking, and Vibez in Sea Monkey to highlight areas around the page. After that was finished, I used our Limited Edition Frosty's Got The Blues to frame and drip around certain elements.

Molding paste just makes those colors pop in a textural way that I adore!

Break out your colors my friends, let it go the way a toddler does - you won't believe how freeing it is to splash that paint around!

A glass bowl

Today I want to share with you a little recycling project, to create a green oasis. I filled a glass bowl with some soil and small cactus.

To cover the soil among the plants I used some pieces of tiles that I found along the countryside roads.

On the outer edge of the bowl I sticked some small white pebbles that i colored with Shimmerz and Pearlz.

With the Shimmerz products I gave my bowl originality, brightness and color!

Shimmerz: Jilted Jade and Evergreen.

Just Look At That Shine!

Good morning everyone! Jaime Warren here with you today with a brand new layout! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving...and I also hope you survived Black Friday shopping lol!!

I wanted to document this very sweet and special time in my youngest daughter's life. She used to HATE the camera - like, run screaming from it. Now? Now she loves it. She totally strikes a pose whenever one is pointed in her direction. Funny how things change, huh? She definitely has the diva thing going on, so, gorgeous sparkles just make sense for this layout!

Once again I stamped with Blingz, this time in Hottie Pink. I seriously LOVE stamping this way - it's my new addiction! If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it. Just smooth the Blingz over your favorite stamp and go for it. You won't regret the gorgeous shine! I added little droplets of Spritz in Cotton Candy and Chick-a-dee and Coloringz in Pink Stilettos.

Hi everyone, hope you have been to the store to get your Black Friday special:):)

So anybody who knows me knows how much I love colour!!!! So using the gorgeous bright Coloringz on this layout was just a treat for me:) I started out by spraying the mistable paper and then blended the Coloringz to the shells and the paper tears. I added more and more mist and colour with each layer.

I loved working with these colours and they really just blended so well together. I think that the Coloringz are going to be my new best friend:)

Making It Shimmer and Shine with Shimmerz!

Hi everyone!! Jaime Warren with you today! I hope you are all having a wonderful day gearing up for Turkey day tomorrow! Hard to believe it's the holiday season, isn't it?!

I have a fun layout to share with you today using some of my favorite Shimmerz products - Blingz & Shimmerz. I love the high shine both of these products give me - especially when I stamp with them! In fact, I prefer to stamp with them over a regular ink pad!

Here is my layout:

I used Blingz in Flashee Fushia to stamp the edges of my layout - I LOVE the way it turned out! I also dripped the Blingz directly onto my layout. I then dripped some Vibez in Vertigre in random areas on my layout. Again, the sparkle is just out of this world. I also love the pop of color from both of these products - so gorgeous!

A Sparkly, Jack Frost bitten, Egg Noggin Tree!

Hi friends, Heidi here! Today I want to share a couple of easy, breezy, beautiful Christmas projects for the gift-giving season. First I made a Christmas tree using some vintage fabric and trim...

All this took was a hot glue gun, and some strips of fabric and fringe... then I coated this beauty in the Limited Edition Egg Noggin, heavier on the bottom than at the top. I then coated the whole thing in the Limited Edition Jack Frost Enamelz, and heat set. Here is a close-up of all that delicious sparkle!

and while I was at it, I thought I would make a gift tag while all my fun stuff was still out!

For the tag, I used vintage trimmings, some crystals, and molding paste, and then I spritzed on some Egg Noggin, and then coated with LOTS of Jack Frost Enamelz!!!! Who will get this gift tag on their Christmas gift... hmmmm....I don't know yet!

Hey there!
I am back again to share a couple of things shimmery today.
This is another baby related page,

LOTS of Shimmerz on this one.! I painted an old sheet of used chipboard alphas (the negative left over sheet) with Helmar Acyrlic sealer to make a mask I could mist without it damaging the chipboard. ie. It's now water proof! So my background is painted with texture past, masking and spraying and dripping!
I used Licorice Spritz, Under the sae Blingz, Mama Sings the blues Coloringz, Molten Metal and sparkiliscious Enamelz.

Now the flower is just a silk type flower from Petaloo Flowers. I dismantled it totally and spritzed each layer with Mama sings the Blues Coloringz and sprinkled sparkiliscious Enamelz over it and melted it with a heat gun.

as you can see, something very interesting happens to the fabric flower in this process. AND I LOVE it!!!! It becomes transparent and plasticised.....AND incredibly sparkly!!!!! So COOL!!!!!

These little triangle banner pieces are some clay that I made using conflour and Helmar glue, which I just threaded with string and left plain for this page. The little heart is the same but I painted it with the coloringz too!

I painted the already blue chipboard letters with Under the sea Blingz to add some Shimmer! And there is my page today!!!!

A new black-board

Hi Ladies! Today I have an altered project to share with you.

Every time I go to my parent’s house, I found little treasures to transform, since I was a child.

During my last visit I found a little black-board seriously damaged.

After cleaning it thoroughly, I started the restyling with the help of Shimmerz products.

With the addition of some flowers, my new artistic black-board is ready to write down all the things I usually forget.

Hi there, so happy to be here and share with you my first Shimmerz project:) Of course it's of my sweet boys and of course it features lots of blues and layering!! I started my layout by applying gesso randomly to my background. I then sprayed with Spritz and Vibes letting it drip down the page. I painted Pearlz onto my Hambly screensprint to give it some colour.

Blending those paints!

I love blending my Shimmerz paints, making monochromatic layout, with lots of oomph! Color, for me, can make or break how the emotion comes out within each project, and I love how the color on this layout popped, and still remained masculine.

Using papers from a new Polish manufacturer, 7 Dots, I created this layout with LOTS of My Bleeding Heart, Mandarin Mai Tai, Truffle, and Choc-o-lot.

It is very simple to create a color scheme like this, if you take the time to add color, then layers of paper, then more color, wiping with a baby wipe or towel as you go to blend.

Then to highlight even more, I used No Yoking in small doses around the embellishments!

Hi, my name is Stacey Young and I am so excited to be here at Shimmerz. I live on the Central Queensland Coast of Australia with my husband Tim and our 3 little boys Cooper (4.5), Kobi (nearly 3) and Mason (4 months). I am a Stay at Home Mummy and these 3 are my main crafting subjects. I have been scrapbooking for the past 7 years and have always had a background in art. I love getting messy, I love playing with texture and paint, I love layering and I absolutely adore colour!!! My layouts are always very busy and dimensional but I just can't help but add "just one more thing"! I am currently on design teams for Prima Marketing, The Color Room and My Little Bit of Whimsy. Winter Green Blingz Painted, Dripped and Enameled

Hi there again. Lydell here, sharing another page recording elements of my life right now. This page is one recording a few weeks ago now, but it will certainly be nice to have this to look back on when I have forgotten a lot of this time period.

I am on a mission to use some of my older papers, so I am spraying and spritzing like crazy!!!! This one was an old doodle bug paintable paper covered in pretty little daisies with its reverse side a perfect match for Winter Green BLINGZ!

I used Gesso and a credit card to create the background very randomly!

Once that was dry I added drips of Winter Green Blingz which I applied sideways (by turning the page on its side and then applying drips) I did this by using a wet paint brush dipped into the Blingz and touching the page allowing the excess watery paint to drip. Once dried this created 'lines' for my journaling. I also added some rough edging down one side of my page with what was left of the watered down paint on my brush. Using every bit of that gorgeous colour!!!!!

I die cut a leaf and painted with the same Winter Green and this time created a chunkier look by sprinkling Sparkilicious Enamelz (this is a clear but sparlkly embossing powder) directly on top of the wet paint and zapping with the heat gun to melt. You are left with a much more 'substantial' embellishment than a flat paper piece.

I repeated that same process with the alphas and the top and bottom of some prima packaging I trimmed off to staple to my page.
I added the rest of the co-ordinating embellishments to finish off and called it done!!!!

Hope you enjoyed seeing what can be done with just one colour of Shimmerz and some Enamelz! You can always do heaps with what you have.....not always a need to have every colour of every product on the market all at once.....as nice as that is!!!!!(LOL) Go buy your first pot or bottle today!!!!!

In a few minutes you can create as many original and fanny masks for any party.

Misting & Masking with Jaime Warren

Okay, I have to admit something. This is the very first time I used a mask when misting. There. I said it! lol! Seriously, I have always been leery of using masks! I wasn't sure how I could make them work for me. When I received my Studio Calico mask I just had to give it a shot. I pulled out my trusty (and oh so gorgeous) Shimmerz and set to work. I was happily surprised by how easy it was to use Shimmerz and the mask together - no crazy warping (because I used a lot of mist!!) and the color and shine...wow!!

I used Coloringz Pink Stilettos and misted over the mask - look how crisp and colorful it is! So gorgeous! I then dropped bits of Coloringz Lime in da Coconut and Vibez in Blue Jeans all over the layout.

I had an absolute blast using the mask for the first time and I'm super happy with the result! So, if you have been on the fence about using a mask, pull one out and give it a try!

Make Believe...

It's that time of year, isn't it? I have been busy creating costumes and taking pictures, because I know these days will end sooner than later, and I will miss it. So this year, right after I finished creating the costume, and taking the picture, I sat down to add it to the memory books. :)

My Sarenna decided to be a faerie, yes spelled the "pretty" way too, this year and she chose her color palette. It just so happens that Shimmerz had some amazingly, brilliant colors to accompany these pictures and really create the layout that I wanted to! (I also created this layout for The Color Room and one of their palettes.)

I blended a bit of Coloringz in Mon Shari and Pink Stiletto to get the purplish-pink hue and then added some Shimmerz Bubble Gum along the clusters and edge of the photo, dripping here and there. :)

I love that Shimmerz has a color to fit every page, every project, every costume :))

Getting Ready for the HOLIDAYS

Hi everyone! Jaime Warren here with you today to share a rather simple layout using gorgeous Shimmerz product. I love using Shimmerz in tons of different ways, but, one of my favorites is to use it as I would paint. Especially letting little bits of it drop onto the page and creating droplets of Shimmerz. It's a simple way to add shimmer and gorgeous color to your projects.

Here is my layout:

I love the pop of color that Shimmerz gives me - especially on this patterned paper - it's just wow! So, super simple, but it's the perfect touch! I simply let it drop in random areas around my layout, and mixed the different colors up all over the layout.

I, like Heidi have some Ultra sound photos to scrap!!!
I certainly did not expect to be scrapbooking ultrasound photos in my future, having had my last 7 years ago, and just given all my baby stuff away to charity......LOL.....and I am "Singing the Blues" not the woeful blue though.....we are being blessed with a blue baby (as opposed to pink!!!!)..another baby Boy, who will be joining our family in March and making us 5.

It was only fitting that Coloringz in 'Mama Sings the Blues' features in this page.

I roughly painted a circle in Gesso as my background, and spritzed some Mama Sings the Blues to drip quite heavily down the side.

I added some black and white papers to let the blue of the Coloringz be the focus and cut my white cardstock frames to resemble polaroid photos. I made some of my own polymer style clay using cornflour and Helmar Tacky Craft Glue (see my blog for details) and made some little button hearts.

I painted these with the Coloringz which resisted the surface a little creating a crackle type effect. Which looks cool.

I added some other little embellishments and its pretty much done! My first Baby photo recorded!

I have a page I did today to share with you! A bit of Artsy fun was had!!!!

I had a good time anyway working with some cool Papers and LOTS of Shimmerz.... some punches and some tapes and you have all the ingredients you need!!!!

I played with Under the sea Blingz, Hot Fudge Vibez and Licorice Spritz. I paired that with a little texture paste and some gesso for some texture.....

First I stuck every thing down, then I did some shimmering. I didn't want to confine the paint to the background this time, so I just sprayed and dripped around my photo, (not being too careful.)

I painted some of the elements with the Under the sea Blingz to help them co-ordinate better, and of course to add some Shimmer!!!!

I enjoyed doing this page to share today!

Memories in the Making...

Good morning, friends! Is the weather changing where you are at? Are fall colors around you? Are changes in the air? There are indeed some changes taking place in my house lately, one of the most important being my growing, growing, belly with our 4th child. Today I thought I would attempt to scrap his (yep, another boy is blessing our home in February!) ultrasound pictures.

I love grungy type photos for boys, so I thought I would kick off his memory book with a grungy boyish, type layout. I know it isn't very "baby"-ish, but aahhhh, well... you know me, themes are a bit hard for me to work with! :)

With fall colors in mind, and lots of white gesso to mute and highlight the colors, I created the layout using an autumn Shimmerz palette!

That is, Spritz in Olive Branch and Mudpie, Coloringz in Mandarin Mai Tai and Tropical Tanline, and Shimmerz in Choc-o-lot and Butter Cream.

After applying gesso, I layered the Olive Branch and Mudpie onto my background paper and let dry. I then added the Mandarin Mai Tai and Tropical Tanline, applying both together to mix a bit for the right color.

I then reapplied some gesso and molding paste to add dimension, along with my pictures and embellishments, and then spritzed a bit more color on top for shimmer.

Lastly, I added the Shimmerz paints in Butter Cream and Choc-o-lot, dripping and painting wherever my hands took me. :) It might not look baby-ish, but I love the blending of all these colors and I SO plan on using them together again soon, in fact, I see some pumpkin patch pictures coming up...

Creating Embellishments With Shimmerz!

Hi everyone! Jaime Warren here with you today with a fun little tutorial on creating embellishments with Shimmerz products! It's a super easy way to add some sparkle, and dimension to your layouts. You'll need the following Shimmerz products:

Enamelz in Super Sparkle
Blingz in Hottie Pink
Shimmerz in Tickle Me Turquoise
Spritz in Cotton Candy
Spritz in Chick - a -dee
Shimmeringz in Baby's Breath
Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox

You will also need your favorite embossing tools and stamps.

Here is the layout I created:

First, I do apologize for the crooked photo. I could NOT get a straight shot of this layout to save my life. I finally gave up lol!!

I created my two main embellishments with this fun and very simple little technique. I simply stamped my favorite image using my embossing adhesive and then used my embossing tool to heat it up. The shimmer from Enamelz is just incredible. I am always fascinated by the way it transforms my stamped images.

After I have finished embossing I simply cut out the stamped image and then adhere it to my layout using foam pop dots. Viola! Shine and dimension, easy peasy! To add even more shine and color I spritzed my layout with various Shimmerz products. I also painted on my embossed tree using Blingz and Shimmerz.

I am so excited to announce that the very, very talented Lene Nabon is joining the SHIMMERZ Design Team. Lene has a beautifully, unique style of scrapping. We just can't wait to see her add her special touches with SHIMMERZ.

Please take a moment to get to know Lene a bit better.

My name is Lene Bjørnerud - aka nabon on the net! I'm 28 going on 39 and live in cold Norway not far from Oslo. I live with my hubby of 20 years, 2 kids 6 & 8, girl & boy, golden retriever Lucky and 3 turtles!

I have been obsessed with paper since 2005, and have never stopped! I scrap a lot, and every week I do a layout for our challenge blog Skissedilla, where I'm on the design team. I also do a lot of photography, and I run a (very) small business, '2B Photography' with my sister. My photos inspire me a lot in my scrapping, and my scrapping inspires me to take more photos too. Love both my hobbies!

At the moment, I'm a student, and in the spring of 2012, I graduate as a teacher! I am looking forward to start working, love to study, but maybe a total of 6 years is long enough? LOL
I'm also a flower decorator.

My style? Less is NOT more? Layers, using things not meant for scrapping, I love old lace, paper, post stamps, foreign coins, candy paper etc, etc! I Love to sew, spray, paint and distress everything on my layouts! I also like to scrap more plain and simple layouts, especially if I got a great photo which need to stand alone. I Love the strong colors, but I like to scrap with the light ones! I Love the vintage feeling, and love summer layouts!
I'm so excited to be on the team, and I can't wait to get started and get to know all of you!

Hi Ladies, I have one project to share with you today!

I'm not British, but I think that a good tea at five o'clock is a pleasant moment to share in good company of a friend.

To commemorate this moment I created this little and fun artwork: I've altered a metal pills-box, with paper flowers, acrylic paints and lots of Shimmerz.

I used Shimmerz products to color the flowers and Bronzed Bombshell Shimmeringz to give a cheerful glow to the entire object.

As you can see, if you use our Shimmerz products on most of your project or in a small part of it it makes always a large impact.

Products used:

Pearlz: Carrot Top, Luscious Lilac, Emerald Isle, Sunnyside Up, Peas B Mine, Blue B You, Samrock and Grammie Berrie.

Shimmerz: Indigo.

Shimmeringz: Bronzed Bombshell.

Well this is my last project for Shimmerz ... I had so much fun working with these products... for this album I use papers from DCWV and Melissa Frances, I cut the chipboard album by myself, then I just painted the edges and distressed a little, other embellies here: chipboard and felt leaves, silk flowers, lots of vintage buttons

I sprinkled most of the album with Vibez Rolling in the hay and some of the chipboard leaves with shimmerz antique lace.

Building Contrast

Earlier this month, The Color Room offered a palette with some interesting colors (#75). These colors were so strikingly different from one another and I thought I would really challenge myself to create a bold layout, using a dark, dark, background created with Shimmerz paints, and then highlighting all the elements with other Shimmerz hues.

The background was a pale colored corrugated cardboard prior, but after adding lots of Vibez in Before Dawn, Hot Fudge, and Pearlz in Toadlee, it was this deep, delicious color.

I then used Blingz in Under the Sea to highlight lots of the cracks within the cardboard, and do my dripping around the cluster, creating a beautiful contrast to the dark brown background. To add a bit more visual interest, I dipped the cap to my Under the Sea Blingz, into its paint, and stamped onto the background for fun. :)

I am here today to share with you a new project about two very simple cards.

As a base I used a white cardstock and then I was inspired by a stamp, a piece of cloth, a strip of lace, a pin and other stamps. To add a touch of color to everything I used the Shimmerz products.

Now, I have two new Thank You card to give to very fashion friends.

Products used:

Shimmerz Spritz: Bed of Roses and Cotton Candy.

Shimmerz: Magenta, Angel Wings, Antique Lace and Opal.

Layering With Shimmerz!

Hi everyone! Jaime Warren here with you today to share a new layout and some fun layering! I love layering on my layouts, in every way imagineable. While I have always loved layering patterned paper, I have a new found love for layering inks and embossing powders. It's a super simple way to add dimension and tons of shine to my projects.

Here is the layout I created using Shimmerz awesome embossing powders and mists:

I used the following Shimmerz products on this layout:

Coloringz in Pink Stilettos

Enamelz in Silver Fox

Enamelz in Sparkliscious

Enamelz in Super Sparkle

To layer on the sparkle and shine I simply stamped my images and lightly misted over each area, then embossed! I continued the layering until I was happy with the overall look and shine! It's such a fun way to use Shimmerz products! So go ahead, start layering and get messy!

today just a cute and sweet card to share, using one of my favorite Shimmerz color... I created this card using Bed of Roses, I sprinkled a light mist on top of the papers, then a little bit more on the circle frame

I also use a polka dot stamp in some corners of the card, instead of a stamp pad I use more of the Bed of roses color as my ink love how it looks!

A Tweeny kind of color palette!

Have I ever mentioned that I struggle using the color purple? Well, I do. In a major way. I tend to gravitate to everything else. :) So when my 10 year old recently came to me and told me that since she is getting older (tween years, yikes) that her newest, favorite, colors were lime green, purple, and turquoise, I took it upon myself as a challenge to create her back to school pics using that palette.

Having literally NO purple paper on hand, because, well... I don't ever buy it. However, Shimmerz Coloringz did ALL the work for me, and I can't believe I am going to admit this.... I LOVE it. I LOVE Mon Shari in so many ways and I have some big future plans for this amazing color in some upcoming projects.!!!!

Gotta love some Coloringz in No Yoking, Lime in Da Coconut, and Mon Shari, plus a bit of Vibez in everyone's favorite Jeni B Bleu. Aren't these colors striking together?

Enhancing some Clear Scraps acrylic with these colors also added some oomph in a subtle way behind the photos. Just remember when using acrylic, make sure to let each color dry before layering another hue on top of it or it will result in muddying and you won't get that amazing boldness of the Shimmerz colors!

What colors do you tend to avoid? I challenge you to break out of the box and use them, you might be surprised by the result!!

Fun with Spritz and Pearlz.

I have a Layout to share with you today.
One I did using Shimmerz and a kit from Scrap That! ( Canadian Kit Club) So much fun to work with all these gorgeous products together!

I started the page with some Sea Foam Spritz. A very pretty light blue shade to create the base for my background. I painted some Blue-by-U Pearlz onto some bubble wrap and hap-hazzardly stamped it around, keeping in mind where I planned to put the focal parts of my page. I also used the same colour to paint a slide frame, which I put aside to use later. I used Licorice Spritz to add some splats, by just half depressing the pump, causing an irregular, splotchy spray.....that was my background complete.

I added all my bits and pieces and it was done!

Tools of the trade II

I wanted to show you a few more of my tools that I use for journaling. Earlier this month I showed you a few and now I have a few more - take a look what some basic tools can do!

This is an effect I used often. It is done using sequin waste and it creates this beautiful effect.

I also like to try different things in combination. So I made my squares just freehand using the shimmerz paints. Then I sprinkled on some bling! Love these two together!

Here's another simple option. Take a tag hold it at the edge of the page and then just spritz shimmer on the rest of the page - voila!

Finally there is nothing as simple as inkblots! Spray any color in the corners of each page and then ... just close the book to let the color smush (yes that's a technical term - smush).

Now my butterfly are much more lovely and I really like them.

Hello, I want to share how fun was playing with Shimmerz products, I wanted to create my own fabric flower, so I use a flower die cut , fabric and shimmerz colors in red: Bed of Roses and my bleeding heart

I also covered a chipboard piece with Enamelz sparkliscious and the final touch a light sprinkle of Baby's breath all over the card, remember that you can find all these colors/products HERE

the flower was so easy to create once I cut my flowers I sprinkle some bed of roses and my bleeding heart and dry with a heat gun, just layer them and secure with a brad! how easy is that!

Hee... So I had a lot of fun making this card using Shimmerz, crystals and Clear Scraps. Sometimes, all you need is just a tad of Shimmerz to make a BIG impact. In this case, all I needed was a bit of Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox to achieve the overall bubbly effect that I really wanted for this card.

After using silver mixatives to cover the acrylic shapes that I handcut out, I went over the glasses with Shimmerz Enamelz in areas for a little more texture, creating subtle bubbles within the glasses.

I then dipped my paintbrush into some Goldie Lox and just lightly brushed over areas of the champagne glasses. Then after adding the clear colored crystals from Prima to make the "bubby" inside the glasses, I again dipped my brush into the the Goldie Lox, and dabbed it on.

After adding my final crystal embellishments to the card, I once again lightly coated some of them with the Shimmeringz. Aaaah, The Shimmerz paint and Emamelz, while used minimally - acheived such an elegant look on this card!!

Tools of the trade

So I thought I would show you how well the shimmerz work with some of my regular journaling "tools"

Just basic tools like these:

I use to create different patterns on my journal pages using the shimmerz. The one below is just the waste from a pad of stickers - once all the stickers are removed I was left with this great template. With shimmerz sprayed right on the template which sits on the page it creates this beautiful "window" effect!

Then I used a basic ruler that had a letters of the alphabet template - these are just old fashioned rulers that I have had forever. When I spray them on th journal page I get these great letters - blurred but that's okay too !

Then I used this border that I had purchased and I loved the circle effect. Sprayed through that as well and then I got this

So much fun - just using basic everyday tools. Later this month I'll show you a few more!!

I created this page a while ago now, after reading a blog of a Young Mum who lost a child. It made me always want to remember how lucky I am. I wanted my page relatively simple, uncluttered where my journaling was a feature. I am not good at simple though, so there are lots of little details from the spraying to the penwork and stitching and the liquid pearl flourishes. Lots of fun! I was a little more controlled with my spraying this time.

I layed down some adhesive backed felt trim on my hand cut tags and sprayed over the top of it, before removing, then outlining with a white gel pen.

My colour of choice this time was Vibez 'Grape escape'. It is such a pretty and intense colour.
