She is Clothed in Strength and Dignity with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today to share a layout that I have just completed using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz Spray Paints.

The photo I have used for this layout is of my dear friend Nicole who is so inspiring to me with a gorgeous heart. During a recent trip to the beach with both our families, I took this photo of Nicole and just loved it so much. The photo is so carefree and fun and just the perfect shot of Nicole.

I really wanted to use the gorgeous Stencil from Donna Downey with the She is Clothed in Dignity Scripture Verse but I just knew it would take up a lot of room on my page so I started off by adding some Gesso through the stencil to the right side of my white cardstock. When the Gesso was dry, I have sprayed some random spots of Shimmerz Coloringz over the page that would match my papers I had chosen.

Once I let the Shimmerz Coloringz dry, I have then used my stencil again lining it up as perfectly as possible over the Gesso before spraying some Vibez Rolling in the Hay over the top. As you can see, the Shimmerz Vibez did run a little through the stencil as I was way too heavy handed with the spraying but I just love the blotchy effect it left behind. I really wanted that Gold Shimmer to come out from the Vibez sprays.

The final step for my background to bring that beautiful stencilled scripture verse back to the fore front was to draw over the letters with a Snow Marker before heating with my heat gun to activate. This Snow Marker is so cool for giving a funky new type of texture and is particularly great for adding a snow like effect to the edges of flower petals etc. I just love the effect it created on the letters here and because I wasn't very good at doing an even coat over each letter, the letters vary with dimension and bubbley texture which is super cool.

Some ripped paper, doilies and TONNES of flowers of course was the final touches to this fabulous layout. I have also got a fun Flourish with a Bling Laser Flourish tucked under my flowers here and there that was also sprayed with the Shimmerz Vibez Rolling in the Hay Spray. Because the water based sprays instantly wanted to resist the laser flourish, the end result was a very cool dribbled effect that I unfortunately had to allow to dry naturally because one zap of my heat gun and the flourish would have melted. Oh well LOL sometimes we do have to wait for paint to dry *sigh*.

Shimmerz Paint Products used include...
Shimmerz Coloringz in No Yoking, Oh Say Can You Sea, Pretty in Pink and Peachy Keen
Shimmerz Vibez in Rolling in the Hay.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree with Amy Prior

Hi Shimmerz fans! Amy Prior back with you all today to share a last minute Christmas Decoration that I made for our Christmas Table this year. Our Christmas theme is very much Bright Fun Candy Rainbow colours. Heck that is always my theme LOL.

This MDF Christmas Tree is a BTP Countdown Calendar from Kaisercraft but of course I was way too late getting it finished to use it as a countdown calendar so it just sat shining bright adorning the Christmas Dinner Table for our family this year. I have painted the entire MDF with Gesso to prime and then added lots of paper doilies to add some texture to the base. I just love how the little hints of the doilies poke through the colours here and there.

Once my gesso and decoupaged paper doilies were dry, I have sprayed various Shimmerz Coloringz & Vibez spray paints but I have dried in between each colour to avoid making brown muddy mess. This was done quickly using my heat gun but of course if you are patient enough you could wait for each colour to dry naturally.

When the Shimmerz paint sprays were dry, I have added some stencilling using a Donna Downey Stencil and various colours of Shimmerz Dazzlerz. Man I just love Dazzlerz so much aren't they just the funnest paint colours ever? I then dried this with my heatgun before adding some final touches of Gold Acrylic Spray Paint to random spots on the tree. This was simply to help tie in the gold embellishments that I planned on adding next.

My final addition was lots of gorgeous Flourish with a Bling pearls in Antique Gold plus some FWAB Antique Gold Flourishes cut up. Last minute I thought I would add some larger baubles to the tree and these Prima Marketing Pebble Gems were the perfect choice.

Shimmerz Paint Products used include...
Dazzlerz in Jelly Bean Green, Pucker Up Pink & Gummy Bear Blue,
Coloringz in Don't Citron Me, Oh Say Can You Sea, Pink Stiletto & Heidi Ho Blue,
Vibez in Hermit the Frog, Grape Escape & Razzledazzle Berry.

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

art journal

After seeing all the gorgeous art journal pages I decided to give it a go too.
Don't have anything to show you yet but next year I will try to make some pages.
Made the front cover of this A4 journal with lots and lots of Shimmerz!!

A used my favorite technique to start with:
Glueing paper kitchen towel on the journal with gesso.
Embellished with lots of flowers, dew drops, beads, buttons, metal pieces and a metal frame.
Spraying and painting with all the colors and added some water to let them run.
And the last step: a coat with gesso for the finishing touch.

For this journal I used the following colors:
Coloringz: No yoking
Spritz: Bed of Roses
Spritz: Plum Pudding
Vibez: Princess
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Sunny
Shimmerz: Magenta
Shimmerz: Key Lime
Shimmerz: Coffee

Here are some close-ups:
Some chipboard letters.

Some dew drops as an extra element.

Using up some flowers from my stash.

Added some small pearls for extra texture.

This gorgeous metal frame was found at a local flea market.

Chipboard letters from Imaginarium Design.

An extra touch with gesso using a sponge.

Randomly splattered some paint.

I love the way the light touch of gesso shows the cracks of the paper towel.

Enjoy your day!

Last Minute Gifts...

Caught up in the Christmas rush? Here are a few ideas on some last minute gifts. If you are like me who hate to rush into the mall during peak season to get some last minute gifts, then you might find some easy and quick ideas on making something you can give as a gift.

These canvas photo frames are made from a canvas board sized 9 x 12 inches. I simply coated the base with gesso, let it dry then sprites Gimmerz mists in colors of "Egg Noggin", "Don't Citron Me", "Pink Stilettos", and "Jeni B Bleu".

To add the embossed white patterns, I just mixed some gesso with the texturez "Widy Tidy" and spread it on top of a stencil.

Happy holiday crafting everyone!!

Merry Christmas!

I absolutely LOVE to receive cards from friends. . . especially when they use Shimmerz!!!!  This adorable little snowman was given to me by my dear friend Deana.  She used Inklingz to jazz up his scarf, buttons, arms, and the blue background.  Then to really make him shine, she used Snowbuddies Bizness Dazzlerz (from her free holiday set) on his round, snowy body.
This handsome little snowman makes me smile overtime I look at him.  He is just adorable!!!  Thanks Deana!!!

You can find Dazzlerz and Inklingz HERE

A baby Gift, Sweet Shimmerz Nursery clock.

Hi Shimmerz fans.

Lydell back with you today with a project I have been working on for my step sisters new little one. I wanted something special with her Birth details on it and something pretty for her room. This is what eventuated!

I painted a frame in acrylic, and drew on the sleeping girl and painted her base colours in acrylic paint.

next I went over it all in matching Shimmerz Paints (Shimmerz in the paint pots)

I painted the things that could do with some shimmer, and added shading details with the colours in other areas.

and in the clouds....

India Ink painted on the sides

and her birth details down one side.

I painted the quote on ...."Let her sleep for when she wakes she will move mountains."
I thought that was a beautiful quote for a little girl's nursery!

......add the clock parts and She is ready to give away!
