two mini alarm clocks

Having my daughter studying in the USA and her boyfriend in China, I need to keep up with their time if I want to talk to them. Made these two mini clocks for their timezones.
The pink, flowery one for my daughter of course, AM and the blue one for her boyfriend, PM.

For my Dutch friends, these were bought at the Hema.
These little cuties are 9x9cm / 3,3 x3,5inch.
Started both with glueing bits of paper towel to give them more texture.
Added all the embellishments, gave it all a coat of gesso before applying all the colors.
After all the colors, an extra touch with some gesso using a sponge.

For the pink clock I used:
Vibez: Grape Escape
Vibez: Razzel Dazzel Berry
Spritz: Plum Pudding
Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Marigold
Shimmerz: Magenta

There she is...another earring piece! :)

A pearl string around the edges.

Added some wooden beads.

The cute little handle is from a Dutch online store Scrap-Unlimited.

And here the other clock:

For the blue clock I used:
Dazzelerz: Gummy Berry Blue
Dazzelerz: Sour Apple
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Shimmerz: Key Lime
Shimmerz: Aqua Marine
Shimmerz: Tickle Me Turquoise
Inklingz (metal): Tarnished Treasure

A metal piece, gears, buttons and beads cluster.

A chain tassel on the side.

Some rope around the edges.

The mini chipboard gears are from Scrap-Unlimited as well.

Have a great time!

A little Inklingz Calligraphy and some Project life Cards!

Hi there Shimmerz fans.

Lydell here with you today sharing a recent project to add some Project Life cards to my ready-to-go stash!

I got out my Calligraphy straight holder and favourite nib and away I went.  Not perfect by any means, done quickly and without pressure.  (I keep forgetting to cross my 't's'  LOL)

AND I got out my stash of Inklingz
(mmmm....divine.)

(I wet the paints and loaded the nib with a paint brush to write.
You want the consistency of full cream milk.)

and I wrote and wrote what ever I could think of!

I added little buttons and string and staples and what ever was lying around that matched!

And that's what I did today!

and here is something else.....

Have you heard about this yet?

If you want some Inklingz.....this is just the weekend!!!!

Order yours now, and mention a Shimmerz Designers name in the notes to merchant section of your order and you will get a free paint!!!!

Thanks for stopping in!
Have a wonderful day!

♫ Shimmerz Mixed Media Art Journal Page By Song

Hiii friends :)

Today I am sharing an art journal page I created using ton of yummmmy Shimmerz paints. Scroll to the end for the product list.

Recently I have been crazy about teal and green colors, so as you can see, this art journal page is pretty green :) I used paints in different shades to add the subtle color variation. I think one or two colors could be a little big dull on art journal page, so I grabbed many different paints that are about the same color but has different tones. On this page, you can see the different greens, blues, and oranges.

I layered some paper as background, and I wrinkled up the edges of the paper to give it more texture so they don't look like they are all one layer.

Around the heart shape, I used some darker color paints to create a shadow effect, and it will make the heart shape pops out more.

Tutorial:

Product Used
Vibez: Sunset Strip, Jenni B Bleu
Inklingz: Steely Blue Eyes, Giddy About Green
Shimmerz: Orange Sherbet, Jilted Jade
Dazzelerz: Coral Me Crazy
Coloringz: Well Blue Me Down, Peachy Keen

Happiness - Mixed Media Layout with Shona

Hello Shimmerz Fans..and Happy Friday to you all! I have a mixed media layout to share with you today…and I wanted to play with some of my new Shimmerz products.

I added it underneath where the clusters will go and I adore the way it pokes out and adds some vibrant color to this layout. I heat set this and added some Don’t Be Suede Coloringz along beside it now. The two blended perfectly with each showing brilliantly in the background.

After the layout was complete I added some drop and dips of the two Coloringz, Bold Blimmer Blingz and Bass Knuckles Inklingz. I just adore the say this layout of my daughter and grandson turned out!

Watercolor Card Video Tutorial

Hello friends!  Gabrielle here with you today!  I have a fun and easy little card tutorial to share with you all today.  It's the weekend and I wanted to have a little fun playing with some of my Shimmerz Paint products, and some of my Dusty Attic chipboard.  So I gather up a few supplies, some watercolor paper and got playing!

Here is a quick l'il video tutorial I made up to show how I put it together!  (Note:....my lighting is bright when I film so the card appears softer in color in the video...above is the actual colors)  Enjoy!

Here are a couple of close-ups of the card design:

I used some old stash for this card, some Prima Hydrangea blooms I had from an old kit.  I also used Martha Stewart leaf punch for the green leaves (just punched from cardstock and given a bit of a wrinkle.

I used one of my stamp designs, the Dandelion, as my center piece.  I used some white embossing powder with it....I would recommend not to press as hard as I did for this card as I feel I lost a lot of my detailing because of this :)

Products Used in this project:

Dusty Attic Chipboard:  Filigree Frame

Shimmerz Paints Products:
~ Moody Mauve Coloringz
~ Don't Citron Me Coloringz
~ Plum Pudding Sprtiz
~ Punked Up Purple Coloringz
~ Blue My Mind Inklingz

I hope you enjoyed watching me create this card today and hope you have some fun just gettin' loose and playing with your Shimmerz Paints!  You can shop for Shimmerz Paints HERE. NOTE:  Don't forget to mention my name "Gabrielle" in the Message to merchant part of your order to get your FREE/Bonus Shimmerz product in the color or your choice!  Go check out the shop, there are lots of amazing deals on Seasonal color groupings going on right now! xo

set of three cards

Today I would like to share this set of three mini cards.
Made these on a card sized mini canvas, perfect to hold all the paints!

For these cards I used the following paints:
Spritz: Caribbean Sunset
Vibez: Princess
Vibez: Razzel Dazzel Berry
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Texturez: Brick Wall
Texturez: Tidy Widy
Dazzelerz: Grapetastic
Dazzelerz: Pucker Up Pink
Dazzelerz: Gummy Berry Blue

Card no.1
For card no.1 I used a wooden left over packaging.
Randomly painted until I was happy with the result and embellished it with flowers, metal pieces, chipboard, gauze and pearls.
Gave a final extra touch with gesso around the edges.

All the flowers were painted with the Shimmerz colors also.

The empty packaging gives a great dimensional effect!

Card no.2
Just playing with the colors on the background and added some flowers, twigs and pearls.

Made this butterfly with a template using the Dazzelerz, Gummy Berry Blue.

Card no.3
So loving these colors together....they make me happy! :)
At this card also a touch of gesso around the edges to make it a bit softer looking.

Using Texturez, Tidy Widy, for the branches.

Enjoy your day!
