Dazzelerz and Texturez...

Do you know that it is easy to modify the colors of your Dazzelerz and Texturez by mixing your mediums? I wanted my Texturez to have a darker tone so to achieve that I simply mixed some of my Dazzelerz paints to my Texturez paints. You can easily control the tones with the amount of pigment that you use.

Here is the outcome...

Products Used:
Dazzelerz Pucker Up Pink mixed with Texturez Crushed Coral
Dazzelerz Gummy Berry Blue mixed with Texturez Patina
Dazzelerz Lemon Drop mixed with Texturez Gold Mine
Blingz: Spiced Cider and Gold Glimmer

Getting Whimsical with Shimmerz {and NEW INLINGZ!!}

Hi everyone!  Gabrielle here with you today to share with you my first project as a Shimmerz Educator!  I was so excited to get my happy little hands on some of the NEW Inklingz and was just amazed by the beautiful effect you can get with them.

As soon as I saw the color 'Blue My Mind' from the Inklingz, I knew I had to do something whimsical with it.  I pulled out some polymer baking clay (Sculpey or Fimo) and made a mermaid tail to act as a center-piece to my canvas design. I also made a few little accent pieces (Starfish designs) to add to the canvas as well.  The mermaid was made by sculpting the clay by hand and the 'scales' were added by using the tip of a pen (with the pen retracted so that the ink tip doesn't touch the clay).  I used the pen tip on the starfish as well.  Baked it for 15 minutes and gave the piece a coat of Gesso....now it is ready to paint!  I gathered together a bunch of my gorgeous Shimmerz products and an 8"x10" canvas and got started.  Here is a list of the Shimmerz products I used for this canvas.....

Shimmerz Products:
Inklingz (Blue My Mind, Miner Miner 49er), Texturez (Patina), Spritz (Treasured Hymn), Vibez (Egg Noggin', Jenni B Bleu), Dazzlerz (Tutti-Frutti), Shimmerz (Key Lime, Green Olive).

And to make it easy to follow along, I created a video tutorial to show, step by step how I created this canvas.  Enjoy!

Here are a few close-ups of my project....

The Inklingz create such a wonderful two toned, shimmering effect, I think my favorites are in the 'Gold' collection, I know I'll be using these again and again!

As you can see in the video, Shimmerz products are easy to use.  The Inklingz are a little different because they are a dry cake, much like a watercolor pigment cake.  You just add a little sprtiz of water let it sit for a moment and do a little stirring with your paint brush.  The more you stir, the thicker and more luxurious the paint becomes.

For my chipboard piece I used some Shimmerz paint, they have wonderful little flecks of mica in them that not only add glitter to your design but even a tiny bit of texture as well.

And finally here is a photo of the corner cluster of embellishments I added to my project.  I hope you enjoyed my project and that I've inspired you to give a mixed media canvas a try.

If  you would like to purchase some of the NEW Inklingz or any other Shimmerz products, just head on over to the SHIMMERZ STORE .....and remember if you would like a FREE bonus Shimmerz product, when you put your order in just put my name 'Gabrielle' into the 'INTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT' area and you will recieve a FREE full sized bottle of Dimensionz or Shimmerz or a sample sized jar of Dazzlers or Textures in the color of your choice!
Note: right now you can get extra savings on your Inklingz by purchasing full sets of the Pearl, Gold or Metal color groups!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and checking out my project! xo

little me

Today I'm sharing a canvas of little me today.
Had to take some photo's for a new ID and they turned out not so bad! hahaha
Thought I was time to use a photo of me for a change!

For the background I mixed gesso with some sand.
This will give an amazing texture!

For this project I used the following Shimmerz products:
Shimmerz: Bubble Gum
Shimmerz: Sugar Plum
Shimmerz: Pink
Shimmerz: Magenta

Here are some close-ups:
Look at all those shimmer on the flowers! Sooo yummy!! :)

Also added some micro beads on the gesso/sand mix.
After all the paints I like to give my projects an extra touch with gesso.
Randomly applied it to give it a softer look.

Enjoy your day!

Today with new Inklingz.........

Hello!  I am so super excited to share a new creation today featuring the new Inklingz products.  Oh my, the colours are just delicious and fun!!!  I haven't picked a favourite yet, but these were the first ones I picked to create with so I'm thinking these might be the popular ones on my desk ;)

Here is my list of products used:

INKLINGZ in - Blue My Mind
I'm Not Limon
Good As Gold
Gosh Garnet
Sunkissed (actually thinking about it, this might just be my favourite - it's stunning)
  Beets Me
Giddy About Green

I also used:
Spritz in Mango Madness
Coloringz in Pink Stiletto

"Today"

I am not a huge user of cardstock, I generally use a patterned paper for my background but I thought this would be a great way to show off the new Inklingz products.

Using a mask and Modelling paste......allowing it to dry and then applying the Inklingz products.  I used a small paintbrush to dip in the water.

Here you can see I'm Not Limon, Gosh Garnet and Beets Me.

I wanted to try out all of these colours so I have have small amounts of each throughout my layout.  To the right of the straw you can see Sunkissed....it's a gorgeous apricot/coral colour.

I applied Beets Me Inklingz into the 'today' cutout.

Here you can see the shimmer from the Inklingz products.

Mixed Media Name Sign For Shimmerz

Hi Crafters :))

Today I am so excited to share with you guys my new project for Shimmerz. I created myself a name sign!!! They are very easy and fast to make and you will have soooo much fun making them!!

I want my name sign to really represent me. I LOVE colors, so thats why I made each piece a different color :) I used couple different Shimmerz product of similar color on each piece. All different kinds of products of Shimmerz really go together nicely color wise or texture wise.

For the layering, all I did is to rip out a piece of printing paper, use my paper crimping tool to give it texture, then I stamped it to give it more depth. Behind the paper, I used either aplique, cheesecloth, threads to create another layer of texture.

Anyways, hope you like this project :)) Make one for yourself and you will see how much fun it is to play around with colors and texture.

Here is the tutorial:

Thank you so much for looking

Memories- New Shimmerz Product Inklingz and a sad Goodbye

I'm so excited to introduce these amazing new products by Shimmerz called Inklingz

They are hard water-colour paints in a jar. They are so fabulous and shimmery and I loved combining them to create this pastel layout.

I also have some sad goodbyes to say today at Shimmerz as I've had to step down from the Design Team for unforeseen circumstances.

I loved being on the Shimmerz DT and working with these amazing products.
It was truly like being part of a family and I want to thank Stacey for the opportunity and for her kind heart.

These are the names of the Inklingz I used on this layout:
meet me @ sunset
beets me
pink-a-boo
sun kissed

Besides creating a magical, shimmery background with the Inklingz, I also used them to paint over the resin birds in the corners. It covers them perfectly

So come check them out at the Shimmerz store and get yourself some new Inklingz!!!

hope you get a chance to try these!!
Have a wonderful day

INKLINGZ are HERE!!!!

We are so proud and so happy to share INKLINGZ with you.  This has been a product that has a bit of a story behind it.

Dave and I were approached my Sherry Mendoza at a show that we were at.  She asked if we could create a solid watercolor.  What was so funny, is that we had been talking about creating that very same product.  Sherry's suggestion was confirmation that we needed to get to work, so soon after that show, INKLINGZ were born.   We played around with formulations, and got feedback from our testers. . . . .and we are now, so excited about this product and it's possibilities.

I invite you to watch our introduction video and see how this products works.  I also invite you to watch for some of the MOST amazing artwork from our Design Team and video tutorials from our Ed. Team on how easy this product is to incorporate into your art and craft projects.

Let me introduce you to. . . . . . INKLINGZ!!!

Here is the Pearl Collection. . . .
. . . the Gold Collection. . . .
And. . . .the Metallic Collection. . . .
Now that you've seen all this shimmery goodness.  You can do the hard part and choose which are your favorites.  You can get INKLINGZ here today.       (www.shimmerzpaints.com)
