Pretty Butterfly

Hi Shimmerz fans, just sharing a new layout with you today using loads of my favourite Shimmerz products.  I visited my best friend and her new bub a few weeks ago, accross the other side of the country, I couldn't help but create something girly of the 2 of us!!  I have used a load of product here, so here is the list:

Coloringz in Heidi Ho Blue, Mandarin Mai Tai and Pink Stiletto
Shimmerz in Apricot, Tickle me Turquoise and Hott E Pink
Spritz in Licorice, Mango Madness, Carribean Sunset, Ruby and Sea Foam

Now you don't need all of the above to create something like this, some of these colours are just flicked on my page to add that little bit more colour.

Closeup my butterfly!

I just wanted to share a quick how to on the butterflies I created in the background.  I apologise for the photo quality, it was a night and lighting was poor.
I grabbed my chipboard butterflies and placed them on my layout where I wanted them to frame my photo.  I sprayed serveral bottles layering over each other.  I then took all the butterflies off and put the big one back on this time holding it in place whilst I held the paper upright and let the Spritz run down the page.

Using some texture paste I outlined the butterflies.  I then grabbed my Shimmerz pots and a paintbrush and coloured in the butterflies blending the colours into together.

I then pulled the nozzle off the Licorice Spritz and traced the inside lines of the butterflies, also adding flicks to the page as I went.

More flicks were added by taking off the lid and flicking back onto the page.

I then added my photo mat for my picture.  I placed another couple of butterflies around the calico to blend into the background.

All extra embellishments were now added.

Thanks for checking out my creation today, have a wonderful week x

Winter Shimmerz Box

Hey lovely scrappers, I'm here today with a super fun box I created! I used the Merry & Bright Collection. I wanted to do something different with this box, so I hinged it to stay open :) kind of like a jack in the box Lol. BTW, if you would like a free shimmerz paint/spray .... at your next checkout just mention my name, and then list the one you would like! That easy :)
Another reason to looooove Shimmerz!

The lace i colored with the Vibez 25 Karat. Also hit it with a little gesso :)
The icicles are made of hot glue, then painted with the Pearlz Powder Puff.
The snowflakes in the background are covered with Shimmerz Frosty's Got the Blues.
The snowflakes are colored with the Pearlz Powder Puff. YUMMMMY!
I died this white seam binding with the Vibez Abomidable Blue.
I created the "love bird " nest out of jewerly wire that i hand bent to the words. I also colored it with gesso and Shimmerz Frosty's Got the Blues.

I hope you all enjoy the box, don't forget to get your free Shimmerz with your next purchase :)
Big hugs!

Quick and easy cards

Hi lovely Shimmerz fans!  I am sharing today a few simple cards I made.  Cooper had a couple of birthday parties to attend over the school holidays so I whipped up a few cards.

Here are the Shimmerz products I used:
Spritz in Sapphire
Vibez in Hermit the Frog, Sunset Strip and Blue Jeans
Shimmerz in Key Lime

I started with a scrapping of Gesso and then flicked and sprayed the Spritz and Vibez down the middle of the card allowing it to run.

Popped on some flags and twine and then sprayed some stars and adhered them aswell.

There you go, simple as and receiving a handmade card is extra fun for the little ones!

A little book made from a 12 x 12 sheet of paper with Shimmerz!

So here is a 'quick pic tutorial' on how I made a sweet little book for my baby boy a little while ago.
I just used sturdy double sided paper and cut a 12 x 12 sheet into strips and folded the strips into pages. (my strips were 4 inches wide, the height can be what ever you choose, mine are 3 inches, so my pages when folded are 3 x 4)

Glue the strips together forming 1 long strip.

Now glue the folds together where they will create pages

Dont glue right to the spines edge when you do this so it has room to expand when you embellish your book.
I cut an extra piece of paper to wrap around the whole book front, spine and back- gluing only the front and back, leaving the spine loose to allow for expansion when the book was decorated.
This makes it look like a real little book and hides the spine folds you can see below.

Paint some Shimmerz Paint onto some bubble wrap and stamp some texture onto the background of your pages.  There will be paint colours for any colour scheme you can dream up!!!!

Embellish away!

Such a fun project.  Nice small pages to create on, means the task happens quickly.  Select some embellishments to repeat throughout the book and you can plough through your little project in an afternoon!

Thanks for stopping in.
