A Decorative Piece

Hi everyone, today I have a little project to share with you.  I had a craftwood letter 'S' sitting on my desk along with a small canvas (12cm x 12cm) when I thought to myself I should combine the two together.  So here I have made a decorative piece with my initial!

Shimmerz products used:

Blingz in Grinchy Green
Shimmerz in Tickle Me Turquoise and Antique Lace
Vibez in Egg Noggin and Hermit the Frog
Spritz in Treasured Hyme
Coloringz in Lime In Da Coconut and Heidi Ho Blue
Enamalz in Sparklicious

I always apply a little gesso to my embellishments and this makes the perfect adherent for me to sprinkle on my Enamalz.  I just love pretty, sparkly things :)

Before adding my letter and the embellishments I sprayed my background with different colours and I always let them blend together.  If I don't like the colours they turn into, once dry I just reapply a different colour.

I just adore these little peacock feathers and after applying a coat of gesso onto the craft I used my pots and blended the colours together with a paintbrush.

I hope you enjoyed my piece today, I think it will have a sweet little spot in my scraproom.
Enjoy your Halloween festivities tonight,
Until next time xo

Spiders!!!

The night of Halloween is coming ... and if your are still yours decorations ... here's a simple idea to create some funky, cute hairy spiders.

I got some balls of cotton wool and I colored with: Anchors Away Coloringz, Before Dawn Vibez and Coal Shimmerz.

I added to the black balls two little eyes and the legs made with the black wire.

Happy Halloween!!!

Last bit of sunshine...

The season is changing, so here is my last attempt to hold onto those warmer days, using warmer, sun-kissed, colors by Shimmerz. :)

A little bit of gesso smeared on some lovely yellow Prima papers... highlighting the spots where I planned on placing my photos.
Around my cluster, I added a bit of molding paste, dabbing with my finger to make peaks.
Adding a bit of masking tape over this, and spritzing with some Pop Art Pink, Mandarin Mai Tai, Sunset Strip, and Treasured Hymn made for a lovely, warm colored layout!

Summer has left me now though... but the warmness of those photos were captured!!

Pastel Pretty

Hi everyone.  Today I have a new creation to share with you.  I am in love with everything pastel at the moment so thought I would create something using all of those pretty hues.  Here is the Shimmerz I used to create my layout:

Coloringz in Heidi Ho Blue and No Yoking
Vibez in Jeni B Bleu
Spritz in Sapphire and Mango Madness
Blingz in Under the Sea
Shimmerz in Candlelight and Tickle Me Turquoise

"Enjoy the Little Things"

This is how my layout started.  I wanted to add some bubble like elements to my page.  Easy, take the lid off your mist bottles and dip into your pots.

Add another colour to the mix using the same technique.

I love creating layouts with shells, they are the easiest embellishment to alter and they also add instant texture to your page.  I always start out by giving them a coat of Gesso.  I will then spray the mist over the top of them all.  I then apply a little texture paste to the shell and using a paintbrush I apply more Shimmerz to the top section sometimes letting it run down the shell.

I always like to add a darker shade of Shimmerz under embellishments and paper layers to add to the depth of my page.

Don't be afraid to get you Shimmerz on your photo, I purposely flicked Shimmerz onto my photo to blend it all together and to add to the shabby feel of the layout.

I hope you picked up some tips here today, just have fun and get messy :)
Have a great weekend xo

Simply Colouring flowers with Shimmerz....

Personally I love spraying and splattering paint on everything in sight, but I know its not for everyone.
If you are not 'yet' into spraying and droplets over your pages, then this might be of interest to you.
You dont have to be messy, if you dont want!!!

The Shimmerz Paints I used on this page, were to predominately colour my flowers.
I used Grey Flannel Pearlz for the tiny white flowers, Grinchy Green Blingz for the leaves and
Blue Jeans Vibez for the blue flowers.

Easily done.
Most of these are pots of paint, but you can use the spray bottles to recolour too by either spraying directly onto your object, or removing the lid and dipping your paint brush straight in to 'paint'.

Adding ink to the edges adds dimension too, like you can see here in picture below of the leaves, they look shaded, but its just a bit of Distress ink swiped lightly over the edges.

So if you are not into spraying, start by colouring and painting, the colours you will find in the Shimmerz ranges are amazing, there is always just the right colour for your project.

Tomorrow's Splash of Color

Still trying to keep it simple, and adding these little splashes of color are just too easy.
Only one color was used here, to accent the neutral color scheme, and make it pop...

Jeni B Bleu

I waited until I had attached all my bits of paper and photos, and ribbon...
Pumped a little paint into my paint nozzle, unscrewed the cap, and flicked a bit. Then pumped the nozzle for the bigger splashes. I love it. It makes me happy!

and don't forget!!! Shimmer Paints big announcement about

I added some green felt for leaves.

Now my little pumpkins are ready!

Products used:
Coloringz: Mandarin Mai Tai.
Shimmerz: Marigold, Orange Sherbet and Pumpkin.

Have a great day with creativity!
