Hello Ladies, here again with you! In the previous post I showed you a very big canvas ... in this post you can see a small canvas dedicated to the ways of making art.

On the front ... how art can be created from ideas, from drawings made with pencils, from colors on the brushes ...

On the back ... how art can be created with the help of a computer.

I used the Blingz products because their sparkle is much more intense and their consistency is thicker, ideal for a mixed media project!

Products used:
Pearlz: This Spuds 4 Us.
Blingz: Gold Glimmer, Hi Ho Silver, Mello Yello and Spiced Cider.

Have a great day with creativity!

Some More Shimmerz Kicks

A couple of weeks ago, Stacey McElyea showed off a pair of canvas shoes that she altered using Shimmerz paints and my daughter(s) happened to stumble across the post. They immediately went into "please" mode, with full batting of eyes, dimpling of cheeks, and the plea of having something new, something different, since school was starting soon.

SO, I thought I would post a finished shoe, as well as a shoe that hadn't been completed yet so that you could see the before and after effect. :)

What do you need to complete this? I used a fine tipped black Sharpie, as well as a normal black sharpie, black StazOn ink, a few stamps, some stencils, and of COURSE your favorite Shimmerz paints. Using a combination of doodling, stenciling... this is what I came up with.

When the stamps didn't show up quite as dark as I'd hoped, I simply filled them in a bit further with the markers. For my colors here, I used a paintbrush to apply Coloringz in Mon Shari, Pink Stiletto, No Yoking, and Mandarin Mai Tai. In a couple of areas, I wanted a color change effect, so I blended the paints quickly before they dried. In other spots I wanted to the color to be bold, so I let dry after applying.
Here are a couple more side views of the shoes, so that you can see where/how I
decided to divide up the color...
After painting, let set overnight, and then seal with a light coat of Mod Podge.
SO CUTE. Stacey, you rock - my daughters are so thrilled to have a custom pair of kicks now that I have finished painting the other shoe! Think of all the possibilities, friends, bags, camera cases, wallets, etc., white canvas is EVERYWHERE!

Cute card:)

Hi all, today I want to share with you a quick super cute birthday card I whipped up.

Here is what I used:
Spritz in Tuby and Mango Madness
Shimmerz in Magenta
Enamalz Sparkliscious

Starting with the background I scraped some paint on my cardstock.  I then used my Spritz and gave it a mist.  I then layered my balloons with foam tape and added the twine. I used some modelling paste on the edges of the balloons and using a paintbrush applied the Magenta Shimmerz to create the shadow effect.  Pop on some sequins and and few more flicks of Spritz and sprinkle the whole card with Enamalz:)

Thanks for dropping by today, I hope you have a go at making a card like this, quick, simple and super cute for the little ones:)

Hugs, Stace.

Delight-ful colours

I am sharing a page with you I created recently, which features some lovely bright Shimmerz Paints.
I am not a 'yellow' person, or really a 'bright green' person for that matter, I would not usually choose these colours because they are individually pleasing to me....but somehow these two colours meshed and evolved on this page.  Surprising too....but I am happy with the soft yet fresh results!

I used Sunny side up Pearlz and a mix of Green with envy Pearlz and Hermit the frog Vibez. (Flowers are from an Australian Company 'Manor House Creations'.)
This page showed me it is ok to just let yourself go with colours.  Select some you might not at first be drawn to....you just might be surprised!!!
Thanks for stopping by today.

A new Video Up today....

Eye-Catching Use of Color

It's truly shocking to me sometimes, how easy it can be to add a "WOW" factor to a project with just a bit of Shimmerz paint. This month, I wanted to see what I could come up with, using very little supplies, in my usual style - but still with some oomph. This is what I came up with. (Thank you to Swirlydoos Kit Club, for the papers and products besides Shimmerz here!)

I LOVE it. I absolutely adore how it came out and it seriously took me like 3 minutes to create after I had cut my photo out! I used a bit of Vibez in Pop Art Pink, splattering and flicking with the nozzle tube on the background.
I then added a simple frame, my teeny photo, some ribbon and a flower.
I painted the flower using, Coloringz in Mon Shari, Vibez in Redy-or-Not, and Spritz in Mudpie, blending with a brush as I went. Then I painted with the Pop Art Pink (just dipped a brush in the bottle) onto my daughter's shirt and cheeks to add some color.
Then my final step was to drip (of course) some paint around the edges of my cluster. Here I used Pearlz in Grammie Berrie, applying with a medicine dropper. Then I dragged a little around the photo to frame it some more.
For a final touch, I used the end of a bamboo stick, dipped it in the Grammie Berrie paint, and flicked it for thin paint splatters.
I love it.
The paint immediately commands attention, focusing the eye on my little picture!!!
So simple, so pretty.

Easy use of Shimmerz Paints.....

Today I got out my Shimmerz Paints and used them in the most basic way a paint can be used.  Painted onto an item with a paintbrush to colour it!  I have had these wall plaques for years and years, I think a gift from my Mum, and they have never made it up onto my wall....I decided today to give them a facelift.

First I painted the plaques with Gesso so I had a clean slate to work on.

Then I added Shimmerz Paints to re-colour the sculpture.  I used Green Olive Shimmerz.

I added some shading by dry brushing some Espresso Pearlz

Then I painted the flowers using a selection of colours...
The tulips used Sunny Side Up Pearlz in three layers.
For the background of each plaque I used Penny Pincher Vibez, Just spraying it onto the background and then adding another spray, Heavy Metal Shimmeringz.  I coated the flowers with a good coat of Helmar fixative, to prevent the paint from running, if any of the spray got on the flowers. I also added a touch here and there of Samrock Pearlz to add a moss like feel to the stoney looking background.

The Rose required Royal Red Shimmerz, Pretty in Pink Pearlz, and Teal Shimmerz for the shading
I also added some sparkilicious Enamels in droplets on the petals to look like water.

And the Hydrangea.

I used Blue into Town Pearlz and December sky Blingz, I dry brushed Teal Shimmerz betweeen layers.

All up I was happy with the way they turned out, and I may even pop them out side under the pergola.  I will just give them a coat of spray varnish to protect them and I think they will be fine under cover outside.

So thats my everyday shimmerz play!  Just something I thought i might get done today, to make something in my house get a new lease on life.

Have a look around there might be something in your home you can ressurrect!

Life is as sweet as you make it.

Hello. It's Naomi here today and here is the LO I'd like to share.

On the background, I applied gesso and on top on that, I used

Vibez Pop Art Pink
Spritz Cotton Candy
Pearlz Pretty in Pink

to give it pretty pink colours.

For the blue clouds, I mixed

Pearlz Mint Julip
Coloringz Heidi Ho Blue.

For the shiny look, I sprinkled some Sparklicious over the little circles.

I am usually a very bright colour user but I love these soft and pastel colours, too.
Thank you for popping by and I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Shimmery Shoes

My daughter Samantha LOVES one of a kind things. So I had an idea. One of a kind tennies that none of her friends have or can buy. Of course I used LOTS of Shimmerz!!!! I doodled the design with a Sharpie, then started reaching for Spritz, Vibez, and Colorings in all her fave colors. Once I was done, I sealed them 3 times with Krylon UV - Resistant Clear Acrylic Sealer. I tested this sealer. . . .and sure enough. . . .when I sprayed water on the shoes. . . nothing bled! YAY!!! This is how they turned out. Can you see some Shimmer??? These are sooooo fun and SO EASY!!! I love that combination! If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment. I'm happy to help!
You can get all your favorite Shimmerz colors HERE.
Grab your tennies, and your Shimmerz and be sure to email me a picture of your FABULOUS Shimmerzy shoes!!!! stacey@shimmerzpaints.com
