"Paint Splatters" with Jaime Warren

Hi everyone!  Jaime Warren with you today to share a fun and easy way to get a paint splatter look on your projects using Shimmerz products!  It really is super easy and it's my favorite way to use mists!  Here is the layout I created using this technique:

As a funny side note - that huge rip in the right hand corner?  Total accident!  As it turns out, I ended up loving the way it looked so I didn't trash the layout, but, I definitely didn't mean to rip it like that lol!!!  Anyway - back to the matter at hand - splattering mist!

As I said before, this technique is SO easy.  Swirl the mist in the bottle - don't shake, it will clog the nozzle!  Remove the lid and hang the tube and nozzle over the layout in the area where you wish to splatter the mist.  For large drops let it sit until it drops on its own.  For smaller splatters simply gently tap the nozzle until the mist splatters on the surface.  See?  Easy!  I use this technique on pretty much every layout I create - nothing looks complete to me without it now lol!!

Here are the Shimmerz products I used on my layout:

Shimmerz in Jilted Jade (I used this to stamp on my background paper)
Coloringz in Pink Stilettos
Coloringz in Lime in da Coconut
Vibez in Pop Art Pink
Spritz in Licorice
Vibez in Vertigre

Have a great one everybody!!

I love you

Hello everybody, I have so much fun creating this card! I am in love with the new Enamelz! I think the part that I love the most is creating embellishments for my projects, those little accents that look so cute and unique :)
Like these tiny keys, they measure a little more than 1/2" I cut them from chipboard using a die cut and then I covered with Silver Fox Enamelz use my heat gun and... they really look like metal keys!
For the little red flowers I stamped and embossed one piece of patterned paper and it looks like glitter card stock! LOVE IT!

I also use for Butter cream shimmerz and Baby's Breath to add a little more shimmer to the card, thank you so much for stop by hope you enjoy your weekend!

Bold, Little, Blossoms!

I am totally, and completely, hooked on making my own embellishments using Shimmerz Paints! Lately, I have been on a kick, making all kinds of acrylic blossoms - and customizing them with bold colored Shimmerz Coloringz and I thought I would show a few of them off today.

Here's the first! Using Lime in Da Coconut for the most color, but also using a bit of Razzel Dazzel Berry for some contrast, I soaked these blossoms with the Coloringz and then set them upside down to really distribute the color.

Next, I thought even though I am not a purple person, that these would look amazing in Mon Shari Coloringz...

and then I did some in a combination of My Bleeding Heart and Pink Stiletto for yet another set...

The acrylic that I used was Clear Scraps, which is so easy to heat set and manipulate into the right shape - and then all you have to do is give them the WOW! factor by bringing on the Shimmerz!!!

Stamping with Shimmerz : Jaime Warren

Hi everyone!  Jaime Warren here with you today!  I love stamping in different ways - everything from using corrugated board to using mists, just like Shimmerz. I especially love using Shimmerz to stamp with because of the high shine and gorgeous color.  For this layout I used two different stamps and Shimmerz in Tickle Me Turquoise and Blingz in Mellow Yellow.  I also used the following Shimmerz products:

Coloringz in Pink Stilettos
Vibez in Vertigre
Spritz in Licorice

To stamp with the Shimmerz and Blingz I simply painted the stamp with each product using a foam triangle sponge!  Super easy and simple clean up!

Look at that shine!!  So gorgeous!  I hope you have fun using this easy stamping technique!!

A totally Shimmery Page

Hi there everyone!
I have a page to share today that I covered with Enamelz, Shimmerz newest addition!!!!
Ok...I will show you the page, then tell you a little about what I did to it!

Oh my goodness, are these products fun or what.  I had a GREAT time playing this afternoon.  The textures and shimmery goodness you can create with Enamelz is amazing.  I am so in LOVE!!!!

to begin with I painted the background with Shimmerz Celery Paint, just using a paintbrush.  I painted some gesso on some bubble wrap and stamped it, and then did it again with more celery paint a little more concentrated to create a darker print.  Then while it was still wet I sprinkled some Fake Bake Enamelz over and heated it until it melted.

Cool effect Huh?

I cut out a butterfly and painted it with Gesso, then again while it was wet I sprinkled over some Molten Metal and heated, then added a little embossing ink to the wings and the edges a bit and sprinkled over some Gold Digger.   Mmmmm!!!!

So then I used Sparkilicious to coat the flowers from Petaloo.  I pushed them into an embossing pad to coat, and then covered with the Enamelz.  I painted some buttons with gesso and covered those too, with Molten Metal Enamelz this time.  I did the same to some chippy pieces from Imaginarium and some scrap corrugated cardstock, covering parts with gesso and sprinkling over the Enamelz.

Lastly I painted some lace with Shimmerz in Marigold to add a shot of colour.

Ohhhh, I hope you can all get your hands on some Enamelz soon.
The world would be a better place if everyone had some Sparkly Enamelz!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Okay okay - so as I mentioned I am journal obsessed - no question about it! Now with Shimmerz everything is so much easier. As I mentioned, the backgrounds are always challenging but when I do a few shots of shimmerz on my pages it's easy to then start adding the bits and pieces.

This journal is a great little 6 x 6 water color journal, bound with a coptic stitch (elvie studio on etsy). Here are more pages from that little gem

Have a great week all and see you soon

Flowers Hiding in the shimmerz

Hello again in this beautiful summer weather we are having even here in Canada. Well despite all the time Iam spending outdoors I have still had time to work with my shimmerz. This month I wanted to show you how I "found" some flowers hiding in my shimmerz backgrounds. Okay I know that seems crazy but I often find that if I look at a pattern long enough, I can actually see forms and shapes insides those patterns.

I'll explain what I mean. The two pages below were created by starting with my backgrounds. I used two shades of my Shimmerz - pink an orange (great combo by the way). So I spritzed and smudged as I usually do and then from the original background - I could see some forms, and those forms became flowers. Let me show you in the next picture:

Below is a closeup of my shimmerz background. See where the arrow is pointing?
Can you see the possibility of a flower in there just like I can. Take a good look, see the center and then the petals extending from there. Well, I took my Pitt pen and drew around these shapes. I drew around the circle - which for me was the center - and then I drew around what I saw as the petals extending from that center.

What I ended up with are the two closeups below ...

Have a great week all - see you actually in a few days.

I use Pop art pink and Cotton candy for the felt flowers I cover the green paper with pixie dust and also use Butter cream Shimmerz for the edges of paper scallops

Coloringz on Home Decor

I love to change up the contents of my apothecary jars with the seasons.

I made these super-quick balls, Shimmerz sytle.

First, I used several 2" foam balls.

And one package of 1.25" baking cups.

I used a glue gun to attach several baking cups to the foam balls.

I used Shimmerz Coloringz, Lime in da Coconut and No Yoking to color each ball and then set them aside to dry.

Once they dried, I placed them inside one of my apothecary jars.
Easy peasy.

A little grafitti style spraying.

I have another page to share today.  I went a little crazy with the paint and did some graffiti style spritzing.
I have played like this many times in my Art Journal, but this time I applied this crazy spraying to a page.
I used a previous Palette over at The Color Room, (#56-such pretty colours!).....so many of the palettes are easily done using Shimmerz Paints....It actually makes colour selecting a breeze.

For this page I decided my paints in the background would represent my colours, and all the extra embellishing would be white.  So here is what it turned out like.....

.....this page includes the paper tape I created using stamps and Shimmerz Paints!!!
(You can see how I did that in this video tutorial  HERE.)

I used texture paste on the white background, then sprayed, stamped, masked and stencilled it with Jeni B Bleu in VIBEZ, Chick-a-dee and Ruby in SPRITZ and Luscious Lilac in PEARLZ.  I created drips and splats to add texture to the spray and paint to concentrate the colour a little.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting my art out with this one!
Maybe you feel the need to spray a little now???

Thanks for stopping by.
