Love

Hello everyone, I created a cute set of wooden mini houses, these are all covered with lots of Shimmerz!
I first painted the houses with white acrylic paint, once dry I cover the front with patterned paper and spray them with Vibez Razzle dazzle berry, for some embellishments such as chipboard letters, accents and silk flowers I covered them with Blingz Pixie dust
I use a brush to also cover some parts of the patterned papers with Shimmerz Bubble gum

I added some glitter and finished with a light coat of more Shimmerz Baby's Breath

Thank you so much for stop by, have a great day! :)

Splatters and faux cup rings with Shimmerz......

Hello.....(Waving from Australia)
I have a page today to share, which was actually done a little while ago, and for a Color Room Palette- but has some very easy and cool techniques to dress up a plain background.

I simply used the colour as it was intended and spritzed the background aiming for droplets and drips as well as some colour coverage.  You just do this by pressing the sprayer part way down....it tends to splatter a little more this way.....lovely!!!!  I then shake the nozzle towards my page, and the droplets that dribbled out (with the partial press) splat very nicely on my page.  I used Shimmerz Vibez in Hot Fudge.

I also had a pretty piece of lace which was white.  I re-coloured it by painting it with Shimmerz Pearlz in Blue By U.  It works perfectly and means you can recolour any light coloured fabric trim with Shimmerz Paints using either the sprays or the paint pots.
I sprayed my flowers with several Shimmerz Paints, including Shimmerz Vibez in Rollong in the Hay and Shimmerz Spritz in Chick a dee, amongst some others.....I just kept spraying and drying until I got the color I needed!
You cant see so well, as the prints are partially covered with the title and flowers, but I also added some faux coffee rings to my background.  I sprayed a little of the same colour onto my craft sheet, and dipped the end of a toilet roll in the paint, then stamped and slightly twisted the toilet roll giving the best print I could get!  I love coffee ring stains (BUT definately not on my table!!!!)

Hope you will try dressing up your own simple yet 'artsy' background with Shimmerz Paints soon!!!!
Thanks for dropping by.....

Layers of Shimmerz

One of my absolute favorite things about Shimmerz paints, is that they come in all kinds of textures and can applied in ALL kinds of ways, enhancing projects beautifully! I had a lot of fun creating the layout below, and trying to build in layer upon layer of texture, and using the color palette from The Color Room this week.

The colors really pop against that white background, and were applied in totally different ways! I used Coloringz inMy Bleeding Heart, by flicking it in certain areas with the nozzle sprayer.
I used Shimmerz in Sky Blue to frame my photos. I did this by simply applying with a paintbrush
from the perfect little pot!
and then I used some Shimmerz in Pink to drip across my crackle paste. I applied this using a medicine dropper and then tilting my page in order to get it to drip as desired!
And of course, we can't forget the background! I prepped it first by misting with Vibez in Rolling in the Hay, what a beautiful color to offset all the details!

There are just so many ways to play with your Shimmerz!

Dress Up Those Boring Old Tags With Shimmerz!

Jaime Warren with you today to share an easy way to dress up those plain tags you probably have lurking in your stash! I love tags - but, I often find that they just don't coordinate well with my different papers, etc.  An easy fix is to spray them with gorgeous Shimmerz products!  I used the following Shimmerz goodies on my layout:

Coloringz in Pink Stiletto
Spritz in Chick - a - dee
Spritz in Sea Foam
Vibez in Snow Storm
Shimmerz in Pink

I used two plain manila tags on my layout and generously spritzed them with Shimmerz Spritz and Shimmeringz.  The result was a colorful tag with gorgeous shine!

I also dropped little droplets of Shimmerz all over my layout for some beautiful color.  I love how well they stand out against the wood grain patterned paper!

I also took a piece of corrugated board and painted on the Shimmerz in Pink and then "stamped" my background patterned paper with it.  I just love the shine and texture it provides.  The end result is this:

A fun and colorful layout about my oldest turning eleven (where does the time go?!)  I hope you have enjoyed my post today and I hope you pull out those unused tags and dress them up with some gorgeous Shimmerz projects!!

A special Birthday-card!

Today I would like to share with you a special card of Happy Birthday!

To indicate the number of years I used the pages of an old book: for the fisrt digit I used the chapter number of the book.

The birthday's girl turns 18 years old , so ....”The eighteenth chapter of your life”.

I loved this idea so,  as you can see from the photos, I made another one : The fifteenth chapter of your life”.

..more chapter in your book...more card!

Products used:

Shimmerz: Celery, Key Lime, Opal and Pink.

Coloringz: Pink Stiletto and Lime in da Coconut.

Have a great day with creativity!

Some Shimmerz Shapes Fun!

Say that five times fast lol!  Hi everyone, it's Jaime Warren here with a layout that is heavy on the shine and the shapes!  I love using shapes on my layouts - especially circles.  For this layout in particular I used lots of gorgeous Shimmerz, a few stencils and got messy!  It's a super easy but super fun way to add some sparkle and some dimension to your work.  Make sure you have your Shimmerz on hand as well as plenty of your favorite pop-dot adhesive!

I used some of my favorite Shimmerz products:

Shimmerz Spritz in Chick - a - dee
Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Baby's Breath
Shimmerz Coloringz in Pink Stiletto
Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice
Blingz in Flashee Fushia
Blingz in Pixie Dust

(click on the image for a full size & fuzz free view!)

I used the Shimmerz Shimmeringz in Baby's Breath to add some shine to my background paper and I dropped little droplets of the Shimmerz Licorice Spritz, Chick - a - dee and Pink Stiletto Coloringz all over the layout.  I love how it gives it a splattered paint look but with loads more sparkle!

For my circles I simply used my stencil and spritzed over the different sizes of circles and then cut them out.  I adhered them to my layout using foam pop dots and viola!  Lots of color, sparkle and dimension.  I cut several of the circles in half and attached them to the sides of my layout - again, using foam adhesive for dimension.

I absolutely love how versatile Shimmerz products are - case in point, I painted the Petaloo flowers using the gorgeous Blingz.  The result was gorgeous sparkle and I was able to coordinate the colors to match my other products.

I hope you have enjoyed my very first blog post - I look forward to sharing more projects with you ♥

Shimmerz Pearlz (Teresa Collins): Pearl

Shimmer Pearlz (Teresa Collins): Ballet Slipper

And on this little frame I used:
Shimmerz Vibez: Pop Art Pink

Morphing Backgrounds

In my last post I started to show you how I worked some of my shimmerz backgrounds to turn them into journal pages. Here from the same journal are some additioanl pieces. Can you recognize the original backgrounds. The Shimmerz backgrounds really help these pieces 'morph" into a whole different class of journal pages!
The depth of the shimmerz backgrounds comibined with some shading just makes everything pop.
The second page of the candy wrapper page I showed you in my previous post!
And the fund never ends as I add and add to these backgrounds.

You can check out even more pages shown on my own blog at http://cathyb.typepad.com/ since I go back and forth between these two blogs to shows you my work with shimmerz

See you next time with a new sweet and smaller journal!

Go!

I love two things: boxes and Shimmerz products. It's easy to see, beyond a simple box , a new, altered colourful object with the help of Shimmerz stuff.

To make this box, I used many Shimmerz products: now my object is  full of colours , shiny and enriched with small details.
Shimmerz, Blingz, Pearlz and Coloringz are the products that I used, in many different colors.

Products used:

Shimmerz: Caramel, Choc-o-lot, Key Lime, Mossy Stone, Indigo, Fire Engine Red, Angel Wings, Magenta, Bubble Gum, Sky Blue, Tckle-Me-Turquoise, Apricot, Pumpkin, Candle Light and Golden Wheat.

Blingz: Flashee Fushia.

Pearlz: Samrock and Papapurple

Coloringz: Pink Stiletto, Mon-Shari, and Lime in da Coconut.

Have a great day with creativity!

Going beautifully busy!

As a scrapper, I normally gravitate to a neutral background in order to really make my paintwork pop off the page because of the amazing color. This week, however, I wanted to really make it pop while challenging myself to use a very busy, but beautiful patterned paper from my stash.

I used my all time fave Coloringz, My Bleeding Heart, Vibez in Rolling in the Hay, and
Shimmerz in Coal. I LOVE how this color combination played out on that paper, especially against
the Petaloo "Color Me Crazy" flowers.

I challenge you this week to really go bold with your paints... mix up the textures by showcasing different lines of Shimmerz products, and really make your project shine!

Color Me Happy

Honestly, I'm usually not a "bright" scrapbooker, I tend to have a more vintagey-feel to my layouts. Although, the color popping up around me SCREAMS
for a more colorful layout.

And no one does color like Shimmerz!

Shimmerz Coloringz,
"Color Me Happy"

For this layout I used:

Mandarin Mai Tai
No Yoking
Lime in da Coconut
and
Pink Stiletto

Thanks for stopping by the Shimmerz blog today!

A Shimmery Layout and a Chippy paint technique

Hi there Girls and guys (if we have some tuning in!!!!)  I have a shabby style page to share today using some Shimmerz Paints....... some Blingz to be exact! (Poinsettia Pink)  I painted and I splattered my way through this page!

I thought I would just quickly show you how I jazzed up some plain chipboard die cuts....These ones happen to be some Tim Holtz Cogs I cut with my big shot.  The Birdcage and some of the other little elements are from Imaginarium Designs (an Aussie chipboard company)  So heres what I did.......

Paint the Die cut with gesso.....

Lay the wet die cut down on some scrap newspaper and leave for a while waiting for it to dry a bit.
(I saw Alyssa McGrew do this and its such a fabulous technique!)

And the result is some of the newspaper sticks to the wet paint leaving a shabby text print here and there.

Use some Blingz Paint in ANY colour and paint on well.

Let it dry and admire!!!!

Cover the die cut with a generous coat of Dimensional Fluid, which dries crystal clear and dimensional.

Let it dry for an hour or so and you have a beautifully finished element to add to your page.

So there you go.
Maybe something you could try!

Thanks for stopping by.
