Shimmery Spring Cards

These are some cards I made recently for Spring that just needed that little "something special". Well, that thing for me is always Shimmerz paint! I added a little Shimmerz to the flowers on these cards and what a difference a little sparkle makes!

Have a lovely weekend!

Girls' secrets!

All women need a little treasure chest to hide their secrets of love. I created this little jewel box recycling a cigar box.

I decorated it with a wood dressform, eyelets, brads, beads, lace and other small knick-knacks that were scattered on my desk.
I covered everything with white gesso and then I had fun creating a new distressed, vintage look with the wonderful Blingz.

Products used:

Coloringz: Pink Stiletto.
Blingz: Poinsettia Pink, Flashee Fushia and Hottie Pink.

Have a great day with creativity!

Slip your tootsies into these . . .

I'm a little bit addicted to making paper shoes.  Here's my most recent pair:

I made these big flowers using Fancy Pants' new Filter Papers.  I colored the filter paper flowers with Pink Stiletto Coloringz.  The papers absorbed the color beautifully!  I added some glitter to the alternating layers.

In case you missed it the first time, here's the link to my Shoe Template

That's all for today!

New video layout..

over on the educator blog...

Precious

Today I want to share a card created with some of my favorite colors and of course some shimmer ...

First I sprinkled the papers with Baby's Breath, once I added the papers to the card I painted the edges with acrylic paint once dry I use Pixie dust all over the painted edges ... it gives such nice look! One of my favorite things also is using Blingz to add some sparkle to the felt and flowers, I use Angel wings and a small brush, it was so easy and fun!

And last I just covered the buttons with some Shimmerz butter cream. I hope you all have a Happy Easter, thanks for stop by :)

Shimmery Easter eggs!

The artist in me LOVES to color Easter eggs.  But I admit, I am a very messy artist!!  One of the things that I love most about Shimmerz Paints (next to the colors and the SPAHKLE) is that they are so EASY to clean up!  Just a little soap and water and the mess is off of your fingers, clothes, countertops and floor! (Told you I was messy!)

I bought some paper mache eggs at the craft store and just went to town with my Shimmerz Pearlz and Blingz for a nice bright splash of color.  You can use them on actual boiled eggs as well!

You can add some stickers, jewels, ribbon, whatever!  The possibilities are endless!
So, put away that messy food coloring this Easter and break out the Shimmerz Paints.  You'll thank me, really!

Have a blessed Easter Sunday!

A place for her photos...

Last week I had the chance to sit in on a cousin's first communion, and it was such a beautiful sight to see. I wanted to give her a little gift that she would be able to hold onto the memories of the day with, and that would also reflect beauty itself. I decided to alter the cover of a photo album, so that she could print out the photos from her special day and the captured moments with all the family members
that came to spend it with her.

I covered the album in gesso, and after it was dry, I spritzed it with Coloringz in Valentino, My Bleeding Heart, and Pink Stiletto. I also used Coloringz in No Yoking after those colors dried to add a bit more oomph! I then spritzed with those same colors, and then painted the Prima vine and flowers with Blingz in Flashee Fuschia, Shimmerz in Candlelight, and Pearlz in This Spuds 4 U. I also used that Pearlz around the edges of the album. Of course, I dripped paint in the Flashee Fuschia and Pearlz in Ballet Slipper around my cluster as well.... but I normally do that - don't I? :)

Here are some close-ups!

Anchors Away, My Favorite!

I find myself constantly reaching for my Coloringz, Anchors Away, it's easily one of my favorite colors.
I created this layout using a vintage doily as a mask. I love the deep, rich color of Anchors Away against the light background.
Simple. Fast. Fun.

Oh To Be Three Again

I've never been a chronological scrapper.  I like being able to scrap whatever pictures strike my fancy or match a particular paper, rather than be bound to timelines.  That means I sometimes find myself scrapping pictures from years ago.   The cute little 3-year-old girl of mine in these photos just turned 9 years old last month.  Where does the time go???

I added droplets of Sea Foam Spritz to the paper and then typed my journaling on a transparency.   The beauty of printing the journaling on a transparency is that the words blend in nicely with the background and don't completely cover up the beautiful "Spritzed" paper.

Sometimes I wish I could slow down or stop the clock, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by!!

New shadow-box for my Shimmerz jars.

Few days ago, a dear friend gave me a large shadow-box and I decided to give it a new look with the help of Shimmerz products.

First I have covered it with a layer of white gesso, then I have taken the Coloringz and I turned the shadow-box, simply and quickly, in a harmony of bright colors.
I added a few embellishments and I use few rubber stamps: now I have a new faboulous location for all my Shimmerz jars.
Shimmerz are pre-mixed, highly iridescent waterbased paints. They are non-toxic, quick drying and will stick to nearly any surface, even glossy or non-porous surfaces like acetate or metal.
Blingz are just like Shimmerz only Their sparkle is much more intense and their consistency is thicker.
Pearlz are creamy, luxurious and pearlescent, waterbased paints that are more opaque than Shimmerz or Blingz.

Products used:

Coloringz: Lime in da Coconut, No Yoking, Pink Stiletto, Mon Shari, Mama Sings the Blues, My bleeding Heart and Mandarin Mai Tai.

Have a great day with creativity!

I also give you a preview of MOST of the Coloringz so that you can see the colors as they come out of the bottle.  Just lovely.  Check out Mon Shari.  That is a stunning violet/deep purple color.

Hope you enjoy!

Shimmerz and Chipboard...

is a great combination, I created this tag book with chipboard that I painted and sprinkled with lots of shimmerz!
it is hard to photograph to see the detail of how sparkly some embellishments are
here a few close ups...

for this heart shape I embossed first with clear embossing powder, then I sprinkled some razzel dazzel beery, wipe off excess and .... love the result!

for some of my chipboard embellishments I covered with Shimmerz and Blingz, for this heart I use bubble gum
I also sprinkled all the chipboard tags with Vibez Pop art pink, for the chipboard wings I use Blingz Pixie dust
these are just a few ideas using Shimmerz on chipboard, do you have more ideas you want to share? I would love to know.

Have a great Day!
