*Indescribable*

hi!
Leslie here....

just wanting to share a layout I did of my sweet husband and I.
I loved playing and mixing with Shimmerz Coloringz,
Shimmeringz, Vibez & some paint:

I used the January add on kit from Jenni Bowlin
and added some letters and other things from my stash.

Can you tell I was in a vintage mood?
I first sprayed the entire 8 1/2 x 11 landscape page with Valentino Coloringz
then painted the edge as well as details on the page
with some Jenni B brown sugar paint,
then spritzed like crazy on top of the brown sugar with both

for my canvas flower, I sprayed Valentino Coloringz and while still wet,

but you have to see everything in the sunshine:

the shimmer is amazing!
here's some details:

I love how it all shines bright!

thanks for letting me share with you today...

A Bit of...

Shimmerz makes all the difference, doesn't it? I mean, I LOVE negative space layouts... I almost always create them, but there is something about just adding a hint of color into those spaces for effect. In the layout below I used the Trash Bag Misting technique that I posted in the Shimmerz Vlog on Monday. I hope you got a chance to see it, because the possibilities for your own custom backgrounds are seriously endless!

For this layout I used the the following yummy Shimmerz products to make the background...
Spritz in Olive Branch, Treasured Hymn, & Licorice
Vibez in Sea Monkey

and then I used Shimmerz Pearls in Emerald Isle to drip around and frame the elements

These colors were the perfect, shimmery, subtle filler for all that negative space, really helping to make the photos and other elements pop!

Sweets for my sweets

Valentine's Day has already passed, but why not celebrate love all month long, right?  Here's a heart-shaped chocolate box I altered for Valentine's Day.

I made the paper ruffle and painted the edges with Fire Engine Red Shimmerz.  I sprinkled a little red glitter over the Shimmerz paint when it was still wet.

Hungry? How about a little peak inside . . .

They look good enough to eat, don't they?  Not so fast!   I made these scrumptious looking chocolates out of Fimo polymer clay (the beads are the giveaway).

But here's the BEST part.  My jester husband saw the finished project and decided to play a little joke.  When I was in the other room, he snuck into my scrap room and found my Fimo clay.  He made his own little piece of "chocolate", complete with a "bite" taken out of it (he used the handle of a fork to make the teeth marks).  Then he replaced one of the the chocolates in my candy box with the one he made.  So imagine my surprise when I opened up the box to photograph it and saw a half eaten chocolate!!

My husband has a pretty good sense of humor (and his chocolate/fimo making skills aren't bad either).

Coloringz Take Center Stage

On this layout I wanted to Shimmerz new Coloringz to take center stage.

I used a chipboard fence as a stencil and spritzed it with Lime in da Coconut. I love how bright and happy these new Coloringz are!

Next, I spritzed Pink Stiletto on some white Thickers; such a pretty color! I like that you can see the spritz on the Thickers so well.

Thanks for stopping by the Shimmerz Blog today!

Shimmery Cupcake Wrappers

Along with paper crafting, baking is one of my favorite hobbies. I was able to combine these hobbies for these gameday treats I made for the last (boo hoo)  Patriots game of the season. I am a die hard Pats fan and the game did not turn out as I had hoped it would, but the cupcakes were really yummy (and shimmery!).

I love cupcake wrappers but they are so darned expensive to buy so I thought I'd design my own.  I drew some templates (3 to a page), printed them out on 8 1/2 x 11 white cardstock and cut them out. I used some decorative scissors on the top curve. I then used some paper adhesive to stick the ends together. I sprayed some Anchors Away Coloringz paint from Shimmerz Paints on the wrapper and then gave them a little sparkle with Baby's Breath Shimmeringz.
For the picks, I printed out a sheet of the Patriots logo and used an scalloped oval paper punch to cut them out. I then adhered them with a little tape to some red toothpicks and voila!

For the finishing touch, I sprayed just a little bit of Anchors Away and My Bleeding Heart Coloringz on the frosting for a little color.  I know, you are saying "Oh No She Didn't!"  Well, Oh YES I Did!  The paints are totally NON-TOXIC so no worries!

I can hardly wait for the start of baseball season to make some cupcake wrappers in celebration of my beloved Boston Red Sox!!

If you'd like the template to print, cut and Shimmer up your own cupcake wrappers, you can find the template here.

Cheers!

Happy Friday!!!

Happy Friday to you all. I am here to share a fun layout with you using the New Shimmerz Coloringz & Shimmeringz. If you love bright bold colors, and shiny things then these are for you.

My Maya Road Chipboard was sprayed with Pink Stiletto Colorings, then painted with Fire Engine Red Shimmerz. Once that tried I sprayed another coat of Pink Stiletto on top for even more color.
The bottom of the window was painted with Peas B Mine Pearls.

The Shimmerz adds all the character the window needed.

On this layout it's hard to see all the yummy shimmer on this layout. But I punched 1/2 inch circles, placed them randomly on the background. And sprayed the entire background with Heavy Metal Shimmeringz. OMG, the look is so beautiful, very subtle but very beautiful.

Here is the project

Thanks for letting me share!! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lots of Shimmerz Love!

It's all about the love this week, isn't it? I have had these photos on my to-do list for almost a year now, and this week they begged to be scrapped! It's about an act of love, rather than the smooshy, in-lovey, kind of love. :) For some time, my younger daughter Sarenna and I had been talking about the Locks of Love program because of a movie that we had watched as a family. She begged for MONTHS to let me cut her hair so that she could donate it... and I truly fought her on it for awhile... but she won after her sister joined the crusade, it was two against one and the love I saw in their hearts won out.

I wanted to add some soft texture amidst the grungy layout, so I Shimmerz'd :) some Kleenex. I used Coloringz in Valentino and My Bleeding Heart, and topped it with Shimmeringz in Goldie Lox. I then scrunched it all up and used the Kleenex to frame some of the photos, fraying the edges. I then tore off pieces, and mod podged it to chipboard hearts.

Then I used Shimmerz in Fire Engine Red to paint my Thickers, heating them up after they dried to make teeny bubbles on top of the letters.

Then I dripped (of course!) some Shimmerz Pearls around for some fun, using
Shimmerz Pearlz in Ballet Slipper.

As a final touch I dropped bits of the Ballet Slipper Pearlz and Goldie Lox Shimmeringzs around the whole page - just because I wanted a bit more splatter. :)

Those girls together donated over 27 inches of hair, and I am so proud of them! Their hair is growing back fast, and while I keep telling them that I can't wait to braid, brush, curl, and ponytail it - and they keep telling me that they can't wait to give it away again.

Gotta love 'em. (In a smooshy kind of way.)

xx Heidi

Oh! and one more project!
I can't resist sharing because the background was made using oodles of Shimmerz...

The colors I used to create the background are Spritz in Plum Pudding and

Okay I GUESS that's all for today, lol.

Have a beautiful day!

Valentines Day home decor project

Here is a Valentine's Day home decor project that I created using the new Coloringz from Shimmerz Paints called My Bleeding Heart. It is my favorite new color, a gorgeous bright red!
I used Goldie Lox Shimmeringz over the red. I also used Goldie Lox Shimmeringz on the little heart in the middle.

I got the idea for this ruffled heart from a video that Rhonna Farrer did on her blog about a year ago. She used some tan colored (unbleached) coffee filters and hot glued them into an empty heart shaped candy box. I loved the project she made but thought it would look so hot in a bright red! I used My Bleeding Heart Coloringz over the tan coffee filters and the coverage of this paint is so amazing!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Be my Valentine! :)

I LOVE February...it just makes me smile! I love Pink and hearts and LOVE...how convenient that this is my my Birthday Month right? ;)

Every year, I have loved making Valentine's with my children. My youngest daughter Olivia is now the only one that still does this for her classmates in school...so I am treasuring every moment of it. We made Valentines using tissue paper and some scallop and round punches. We sprayed the tissue with 3 different colors. We used Shimmerz Spritz Ruby and Plum Pudding. We also used Shimmerz Vibez Jeni B Bleu. When they were all dry, it was time to assembler our blossoms. We used a hole piercer and stacked 3 of the tissues together and pierced through them all at once. Olivia put the sucker (dum dum) through them and I tied a ribbon around them. Once they were all complete, we put them in a vase. :)

Won't these be fun to hand out to her friends on Valentine's Day?

Thank you so much for looking! I hope this shed a little fun idea to do with your little one's too.
Loves,
Kimberly

*My Bleeding Heart*

It's  almost day...are you ready?
I am!
In celebration...today I'd like to share with you
a couple of creations I've done using my FAVORITE new release
from Shimmerz...COLORINGZ

I had the best time playing with My Bleeding Heart with this card:

I took Maya Road banner chipboard & stacked them together
on top of the American Crafts (LOVE) paper to make this banner.
The scalloped banner is painted with My Bleeding
to  make the banner "pop" off the card.

they are so opaque, just one spray was enough to get the desired color I was going for.

I also used My Bleeding on this card:

I made an "old school" valentine's...
using May Arts ribbon, American Crafts  (LOVE) paper, mixed with
My Bleeding Coloringz
I took cardstock, folded it in half, drew a half of a heart,
then cut with my decorative scissors (I used Fiskars cloud scissors),
unfolded my heart, then sprayed with
Shimmerz My Bleeding Heart Coloringz.
I like how it dried...kinda gave it that "marble" effect...

I hope you've enjoyed My Bleeding today...
have a great day!
~Leslie
