A little bit of Shimmerz + A Stencil + A Simple Design = Beauty

by Carrie Ferrier

I'm all about clean lines and simple designs. I use to think there was no way to use paints and sprays if I was going to stick with my preferred clean and simple style of creating.

Boy, was I ever wrong!!! Check out what I did with a little bit of Spritz Vibez, a little bit of Pearlz, a stencil, and my clean lined design....

I used Vibez Rolling in the Hay with the stencil, and used Pearlz 'This Spuds 4U' to paint my corrugated cardboard letters and flowers.

And this is reason 100,001 why I love my Shimmerz!! The possibilities are endless for me and my simple, clean line designs!

Shimmers- On Visiting Scotland

I creates this page to showcase some of my nieces photos of her trip to Scotland this Summer. I use Shimmerz NEW CHA Spritz in Pop Art Pink  and Olive Branch.  It was important to let the photos remain the focus on this page and the Shimmerz colors were perfect to highligh the floral photos that my niece took while on vacation in Scotland with her family.

This page was created  for one of the Websters challenges in  August at Inspire Me. Shimmerz Paints and Websters Papers are a perfect combinations to create a nature inspired lay out for your travel photos.

Be sure and check out all of the new paint colors  Shimmerz 's  has added. They will add  a personal touch and just the right amount of  sparkle  to your projects and  scrapbook pages.

Be sure and check back daily for new design inspiration from all of the design team members.

She Dreamt

I ran across an old photo of my Zoe girl from several years ago. She was really into the fairy thing from the ages of 3-6 and I swear must have been a fairy every year for Halloween. Her Auntie Jeannie had sent her this adorable Tinkerbell costume as a surprise one year for her birthday. And that costume got a ton of use and was SO much fun for using in photoshoots.
I paired the Tinkerbell costume with our new Pearlz colors: Peas B Mine, Blue By You and Luscious Lilac.
Here I created a tissue flower by using some of my left over tissue from a party bag and painting the tops with the Luscious Lilac Pearlz. A quick smear of Peas Be Mine connects the colors in the page. And check out the SHIMMER on those PEARLZ! See all that sparkle!
Here I summoned the spirit of one of my all time favorite painters and quirky men: Bob Ross
Bob likes to use two different colors on his paint brushes and loads one color on each side, I did the same here and you get this great blend of colors. From turquoise to green and then a beautiful mix of both. Once again, check out that Shimmer!!!
And my finished product ends up like this! Smears of paint, acting as anchors for my whole page, with little stamps of luscious lilac connecting the dots. Sometimes using Shimmerz paints can be just as simple as going back to the basics, making friends with your paint brush again and letting it do all the work!

Altered Headband

Good day to everyone! LG here sharing another project that I did using some Shimmerz Paints.

My 2year old daughter just started attending school a month ago, I decided to alter one of her old headbands. I have used some gorgeous laces by Kaisercraft and Shimmerz Pearlz.

To achieve a colored look for the lace, dip it or use a brush to add some Shimmerz Paint. By using the white lace, it will allow you to achieve the color you wanted. On my project, I have used some pink (Ballet Slipper) and yellow (Sunny Side Up) colors. Here is my daughter wearing this beautiful headband. She loves it so much!

Rubber Stamps + Shimmerz Pearlz

Today I spent a little time experimenting with my Shimmerz Pearlz.
I came across one of my favorite stamps while cleaning up my scrap-room (imagine that).
The stamp had such beautiful flourishes, I just had to use it.
The Teresa Collins, Ballet Slipper Shimmerz Pearlz seemed perfect for my little experiment.
I spread some on my stamp and placed it on a sheet of Ivory Cardstock.
The result was fantastic! I wish that I could take a photograph that actually did the Shimmerz Pearlz justice. This photo will have to do:
After the Pearlz dried, I added a tiny bit of Sea Monkey (blue) Shimmerz Vibez.
I also dressed up some blue paper with (my all time favorite) Pixie Dust Blingz.
Don't you love how the Pixie Dust shimmered up my blue border? Love it.
Here's a close-up look at the stamped Shimmerz Pearlz:

Love my Shimmerz!!

Good day ladies, by now I am sure you've figured out I love the paint splatter technique. It adds instant interest and artistic quality to any project.

Here I splattered Blue By You Pearlz, Sunset Strip Vibez, & Licorice Spritz on the background of my kraft paper.

On this layout I sprayed Sunset Strip Vibez on the background, and RazzleDazzle Berry Vibez on the kraft envelope, along with a little Licorice Spritz. My Prima flower was enhanced with RazzleDazzle Berry Vibez as well. And the tree on this layout cut from my cricut machine (stretch your imagination cartridge) and painted with Peas B Mine Pearlz. The color is amazing on this tree.

Happy Scrapping ladies!!

Using Shimmerz Paints with Stamps

Happy Tuesday!

Lg here sharing you some layouts that I did using Shimmerz Paints with stamps. We all know that misting and painting is becoming a trend with scrapbooking. We use it for masking, misting and painting our embellishments. Lately I've been trying to use it with my stamps.

I am really not a stamper. I collect some but don't regularly use them but when I tried using it as a stamp tool, I was able to achieve a more subtle effect that I really love.

Here are some layouts that I did:

Sprayed some Fiery Fiesta Shimmerz Vibez on this one and used a bubble wrap stamp with Carrot Top Shimmerz Pearlz.

Used a corrugated board as my stamp with Sunflower Shimmerz on this one

Used a BasicGrey clear stamp for this one with Sunny Side Up Shimmerz Pearlz

Timeless

By Stacy Cohen

Timeless . . . that's what Shimmerz products are. Many scrapbooking products go in and out of style, but you'll always be able to dress up your projects with Shimmerz.  It never goes out of style!   Here's a layout I made that's just dripping with Shimmerz, and coincidentally it's called "Timeless."

I made the background by using a sheet of die-cut KI Memories paper and using it as a mask with Razzle Dazzle Vibez:

I found the embroidered tulip applique at an estate sale. It was originally white, so I colored the petals with Pink Shimmerz and the stems with the new Peas-Be-Mine Pearlz.

I cut the flowers from Glitz paper, and I went to town coloring them (they were originally white too) with some of my favorite Shimmerz colors -- Sea Foam Spritz, Sea Monkey Spritz, and Wintergreen and Tickle Me Turquoise Shimmerz paint. Yes, you can spray Spritz in a paint palette and paint it on your projects with a paintbrush!

I made the fabric flower and colored it with the new Pop Art Pink Vibez and Ruby Spritz.  I also used Ruby Spritz to color the strip of lace under the photo.

That adorable dress form stamp and the little journaling sticker are made by Glitz.

Have a great day!!

Tea Time

As much as I admire the boldness, warmth, and fiery sweetness of orange,
it can be a difficult color for me to work with on layouts,
especially in large portions.

As always, Shimmerz to the rescue!
With the help of Shimmerz Vibez and paints,
I "tamed" a piece of bright orange cardstock,
rendering it into a gentle peachy color
for my "Tea Time" layout.

I began by opening up a container of that miracle medium, gesso,
and added a few dollops to the paper,
along with an extra helping of Shimmerz Carrot Top Pearlz.

I then brushed the gesso/paint combination across the page,
creating a soft peach background in the process.

Since the resulting surface was somewhat thick,
I had the idea of adding some extra texture to the page,
courtesy of this Stamping Bella script stamp,
and a few sprays of Shimmerz Fiery Fiesta Vibez.

The Vibez added a little extra "kick" to the stamped image.

After a few go-rounds with the paintbrush and stamp,
Shimmerz and I had tamed the orange beast:

Oh, but the powers of Shimmerz didn't stop there.
They also rejuvenated the petals of these Prima flowers,
care of some magical Pixie Dust Blingz:
Could it be that I can actually "do" orange now?
Purple, you're SO next.

Addie

I started this layout by cutting out "Addie" on cardstock using an Accu-Cut Machine. Then I used the cardstock as a stencil and spritzed it with the new, Fiery Fiesta Shimmerz Vibes Spritz.

Using the new, Blue By U Shimmerz Pearlz to paint along the edge of my Addie layout .

I spritzed the background papers with the new, Pop Art Pink Shimmerz Vibez Spritz and the paper embellishments again with Fiery Fiesta.

Shimmerz Spritz provided a lovely way to create a title for my layout.

Beautiful You!

I really think that Stacey and Dave nailed it on the head when they came up with the newest release of colors! They mix so beautifully together.
I created this layout for the Shimmerz Booth for CHA using Peas B Mine, Blue By You Pearlz paints and Pop Art Pink and Fiery Fiesta Vibez.
Pop Art Pink is perfect for using on any flowers that you may have! Look at the Shimmer on that bad boy!
But not to be left behind: Blue By You is creamy and luscious with a beautiful hint of turquoise!
And when you mix ALL of the colors together the result that you get is harmonious and eye catching:

I was a bit hesitant to use all the colors at first, but taking cues from my picture, I realized that they would work soo well together. The Blue By You matches Zoe's eyes, the Fiery Fiesta and Pop Art Pink bring out her hair and the Peas B Mine, grabs the grassy background and makes it all pop.
So don't hesitate, use all of those new colors together. They will be happy and so will YOU!

Pop Art Pink Vibez

What girl doesn't love Pink? I know I do and Pop Art Pink Vibez is a girly girls kinda pink. A soft beautiful pink with gold Shimmer. My BFF Myia M is one of the most girly girls I know she adores Shimmerz, as well as the color Pink. And what better way to celebrate the beauty of the color Pink than with a BFF layout.

The white Prima flower was sprayed with Pop Art Pink Vibez.

And splattered onto the background paper, along with Spritz in Licorice.

And here is the entire layout

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Scrapping!!
