Welcome to .... Shimmerz!

I love to decorate canvas and products Shimmerz give them a pearly brilliant touch!

I sprayed on the background Jeni B Blue Vibez for the sky and Hermit The Frog for the grass. I used a stamp for the sun and I colored it with Sunflower Shimmerz. I embossed the flowers with white Utee and I used some Shimmerz for color them.

For the "Welcome" I used white Foam Alphabet Stickers: first I colored it with Fire Engine Red and Coal Shimmerz and then I covered with Glossy Accents. I brushed Coal Shimmerz also on the edges.

Have a great day with creativity!

My Niece, My Friend

My Niece, My Friend by Carrie Ferrier

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a lover of white cardstock. Well, my new "love" is taking my love of white cardstock and dressing it up with Shimmerz Spritz and Vibez! Holy Cow, this was fun!

I used a combo of Spritz Treasured Hymn, Spritz Tuscan Sun, and Spritz Vibez Hot Fudge to soften and warm up my white cardstock background.

My funky little flowers were fun. I used Pearlz Emerald Isle and Shimmerz Green Olive paints for my flower colors. On a separate sheet of scrap white cardstock, I simply painted 7 "blobs" of color and let them dry. While they were drying, I freehand cut a small funky flower shape out of cardstock for my template. When the 7 blobs of color were dried, I turned the painted scrap of cardstock over, traced my flower shape on the back side of each "blob" and cut them out. I distressed my flowers by simply by folding them in a tight ball and then unfolded them.

I painted my lace with Shimmerz Butter Cream paint to warm it up a little.

I realized as I was making my little flowers, that the possibilities are endless when making handmade flowers using my paints! Totally hooked on my Shimmerz!!!!

Shimmerz Licorice Spritz vs. Before Dawn Vibez

Have you noticed that Shimmerz has not just one but TWO black mists? Wondering why?

I used either Shimmerz Spritz in Licorice or Shimmerz Vibez in Before Dawn on the following projects. Can you tell me which mist was used on which project?

Check out my video on the ED TEAM Blog and you'll understand the magic of these two great colors!

Those Eyes

Hi everyone!  There are so many Shimmerz colors I love, but my "go to" colors are the various shades of blue.   My top two favorites are Sea Foam and Sapphire Spritz.  I used these two colors on this layout about my daughter's eyes.  From the time she was an infant, people have always commented on her beautiful eyes.

I sprayed Sapphire Spritz on the cardstock:

I colored a white Prima flower with a mix of Sea Foam and Sapphire Spritz.  Once it was dry, I added a little bit of white glitter.

The papers are Lily Bee, and I hand-crocheted the red flower.

Colored Mesh

For today's post I will show to you the effects of Shimmerz Paint on Mesh. I have altered a flower mesh by Prima and a strip of tulle cloth. I have used my ScrapThat!'s July Kit featuring Creative Imagination's Iron Orchid Designs line.

Painting mesh will require a little patience because if you desire for a 2 tone or 3 tone effect, you need to wait for each layer to dry before applying a new color. This is very easy with Shimmerz Paints because they are fast drying.

The 2 big flower mesh were originally color silver. I painted the first coat with Shimmerz Pearlz Sunny Side Up, then Espresso and finally This Spuds 4U.

The same technique was used on a strip of white tulle but this time I have only used Shimmerz Pearlz Espresso.

Aside from those, I enjoyed altering the butterlies and the small little yellow flowers and leaves using those 3 colors.

Thanks for dropping by!

*Jeni B Bleu...How I ♥ you*

I made quite the discovery a few weeks ago as I was
strolling through Joann's. I was excited to find some
tiny canvases that were just screaming to be altered.

They're 3x3 inches and SO cute.

Just adding some paint, Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B. Bleu,
Hi Ho Silver & Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz,
Concrete Shimmerz Spritz, some flowers & butterflies
(that were made with my Girls Loft June kit)
...this is what I came up with:

this is going on a wall just outside my bathroom.

Here's a few closeups:

I primed my canvases somewhat by first painting them a turquoise color.
Next I sprayed Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B Bleu, in large amounts
on all the canvases.  Next I painted the edges in Shimmerz
Hi Ho Silver. Then I painted over the front with the Pixie Dust blingz.
Finally I sprayed Shimmerz Concrete as a finishing touch, over all the canvases.
Each die cut & embossed butterfly, as well as the punched butterflies
were sprayed with Jeni B Bleu Vibez.
This was SO fun to create!

Here's just a few more closeups:
I also love how mixing all the different Shimmerz products gave
some of the canvases the "crackled" look. I didn't even do that on purpose.

Another project I did was this layout:
I took this Girls Loft June layout and used Shimmerz Vibez in Jeni B Bleu &
I first sprayed the old book paper & the tiny butterflies
with a light coat of Jeni B Bleu Vibez.
Next I painted some of my flowers & my leaf edges
in a very thick coat of Tickle Me Turquoise.
Finally I sprayed another layer of Jeni B Bleu on top of the flowers I painted.

Thank you for letting me share my love of Jeni B Bleu with you.
Have fun with some on your projects!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Shimmerz is always on the pages of my Art Journal!

This is a page from my Art Journal dedicated to the moon and the stars.

I brushed Pixie Dust Blingz to create a moon and its lights. I have colored the stars with Sunflower Shimmerz.

A bit of Pixie Dust Blingz, is "finished" on the flowers.

I gave a hint of light at the edges with Marigold Shimmerz.

Here are some pages of my small art journal where I used the Shimmerz products.

Page "That's spring". I used for the background: Aqua Marine, Golden Wheat, Key Lime and Pink Shimmerz.

Page "Zip". I used to color the flowers Flashee Fushia Blingz.

Page "Spontaneità". I used for the drops Marigold Shimmerz.

Page "Silhoutte". I sprayed Jeni B Blue Vibez to create large balls.

Page "Busto". I used for the background: Burgundy, Key Lime and Tickle-Me-Turquoise Shimmerz and Licorice Shimmerz Spritz. For the dressform I sprayed Cotton Candy Shimmerz Spritz.

Page "Foglie". I sprayed Razzle Dazzel Berry Vibez to create the background using the metal leaves as stencils.

I love all the Shimmerz products!

Have a great day with creativity!

One of the great things about Shimmerz products is the never ending selection of awesome neutral colors to pick from. Concrete Spritz is one of said products. It has a great light grey tint to it, with a lovely burst of silver shimmer. We think it is pretty amazing and wanted to share WHY with you!

Colorful bookmarks

I love to read a lot but unfortunately I have not enough time. Now, thanks to Shimmerz products, the pages of my books are much more colorfuls.

I cut the canvas into strips. I embossed the flowers with Utee and then I sprayed Vibez colors. I brushed Shimmerz or Pearlz on the edges. I added some Rub ons, few drops of black color and some stamping.

The color combinations are: Red-Y Or Not Vibez, on the background, with Grammie Berrie Shimmerz Pearlz, on the edges; Grape Escape Vibez with PapaPurple Shimmerz Pearlz; Jeni B Blue Vibez with Tickle-Met-Turquoise Shimmez; RazzleDazzel Berry Vibez with Burgundy Shimmerz; Hermit The Frog Vibez with Samrock Shimmerz Pearlz; Sea Monkey Vibez with Emerald Isle Shimmerz Pearlz; Sunset Strip Vibez with Marigold Shimmerz.

Have a great day with creativity!

Find My Place in This World

I had a lot of fun playing with my Shimmerz Products on this layout. I love me some Shimmery goodness.

I used the new Shimmer Spritz color, Jeni B Bleu on top of some chipboard letters to create the following effect:

I also used the same Jeni B Bleu Spritz on a little Crochet Flower:

I played with some Shimmerz Blingz, Under the Sea...

and love how the pin-dots turned out on top of my photograph:

...again around the edge of the word, "place"

I also Shimmered up the word, "Find" with the Under the Sea Blingz:

Both the Shimmerz Blingz and the Shimmerz Spritz matched the Prima Paper perfectly and were SO easy to use!

Thanks for stopping by the Shimmerz Blog, have a wonderful day!

Vibez Doily Masking

Hi, Shimmerz fans....Lucy here with a layout that makes me smile....most kids get sick of the camera at times and my daughter is no exception. ;)

I used some Shimmerz Vibez here over a paper doily...Hermit the Frog. Isn't that a fun name? And some Breaking Dawn splatter. Loving the Teresa Collins home line here....it made the perfect accent.

Have a Shimmery Day!
