Shimmery Accents

I hope you are having a great weekend so far, I have been having lots of fun creating in my new space and wanted to share one of the projects with you. I stamped this adorable little bitty bloom with Momento Tuxedo black ink and colored her with my copics. She was cute just like that but I knew that I wanted to give her just a bit more so I added in some highlights to the flower with my Lilac shimmerz.

I dabbed just a tiny bit of lilac shimmerz on my smallest and flattest paint brush and then ran it along the lines of the image to highlight the flower. It just gives it a extra small pop that it would not have before. There are so many colors of shimmerz that you are sure to find your match for adding highlights to your image. Why not give it a try?

I hope you all have a great weekend!! Thanks bunches for stopping by.

Triple the Sketch, Triple the Fun!

Are you ready for another Triple the Sketch layout? I had so much fun working with this sketch!

I started with white cardstock and used Sea Foam Spritz with a Heidi Swapp butterfly mask to create the background. I used Lilac Shimmerz to color the lace below the picture.

Photobucket

These papers are from Graphic 45's "Baby 2 Bride" line.

The sketch will posted on Triple the Sketch all week. Head on over there and check out all the gorgeous creations, and play along for a chance to win some Shimmerz!

Under The Weather?

Today i would like to talk bit more about my card. The stamps is a Motivet Spring release but i thought he is so cute for fall too so i have ordered him the other day. I wanted to give my card that "wet" look, so i have started out with a acetate card base, than i have added to the rain drops lots of Stickles and on the ground where the water puddle is i added paper glaze. To deepen the shades of my coloring i have added to Dexters coat some Shimmerz paint in Marigold and to the frog "celery green. To make my epoxy tag, i stamped the sentiment, cut it out with Cuttlebug's "Tiny Tag" die and also added also lots of Paper Glaze to it. After it was dried i assembled the card. In the inside i have stamped "feeling under the weather"
To glue the papers on my card i use THIS glue! it is totally awesome. That stuff sticks AND you can not see the glue lines once dried on the backside of the acetate.

Stamps: Motivet "Dexter in a puddle",
Papertrey Ink "Hello", Amuse Art Stamps in the inside "under the weather"
Papers: Acetate foil and Making Memories
Embellishments:
Shimmerz (celery green on froggie, Marigold on "Dexters coat" ) Prima Marketing (flowers), Stickles, paper glaze, Stampin up ribbon, Button
Tools:
Martha Stewart "lattice punch"

Triple the Sketch fun!

For this layout, I had the privilege of working with a sketch by Patter Cross for the Triple the Sketch blog, which is teaming with Shimmerz this week. The sketch was super fun to work with, and really worked out with this recent photo of my niece and my son. With this sketch, I decided to recycle a label from some Prima packaging and spritzed it with my Baby's Breath Spritz to give it some extra shimmer. Next I went ahead and colored my flowers with Tickle me Turquoise Shimmerz and again using my Baby's Breath Spritz. Once again, you just have to love that shimmery effect that all of the colors add to you layout!!

This is the layout:

And a fun close up of those amazing flowers!!!

Thanks for letting me share my layout with this super fun sketch!

Sketch It Out With Shimmerz

I don't know about you, but summer (my fave season of all) has come to an end a little too abruptly! Lucky for me, autumn is my second favorite season!

This week, Triple the Sketch and Shimmerz teamed up to create some really awesome work! When I saw this wonderfully versatile sketch, I knew instantly which photo I wanted to scrap. I dug deep in my stash and pulled some vintage Halloween papers and went to town.

After adhering the pumpkins to the layout, I painted them with Orange Sherbert Shimmerz. The bats were painted with Gold Glimmer Blingz.

Here's a close-up of the shimmerz.

I really love it when I can mix some old stash with some new!

Stop by Triple The Sketch and join in on the challenge. Each participant has the chance to win some shimmerz!!!

Triple the Sketch

Happy Friday, Everyone! Are you looking forward to the weekend? Do you have some fun things planned?

For my Triple the Sketch page I decided to have some fun with chipboard. I had this cute flower album by Maya Road and since I'm not a big mini-maker, I decided to take it apart and use the chipboard flowers as page accents. I soaked the page in water for a minute and then pulled the layers apart.

Next I crinkled it and let it dry. When the page was dry, I coated it with white crackle paint. Finally, I added a coat of Hi-Ho Silver Blingz.

The chipboard border is also coated with crackle paint and Hi-Ho Silver Blingz. I LOVE the way they came out.

Thank you, Triple the Sketch, for letting us play along this week! I had a blast!

Head on over to the Triple the Sketch blog and give this design a try! :D

Happy Creating!
Jana

Shimmery Felt Pumpkins!

Fall is just around the corner! Time to start making some Autumn cards too! By the way, where did the summer go?? Fall is my favorite time of year though. Pumpkins, corn stalks, fallen leaves raked into piles for children to jump in, cooler weather! So here is a Fall card I made using some of the new collections by Pink Paislee and of course, Shimmerz! The background paper is from the new Twilight Collection and the Postcard and stamps are from the Amber Road Collection all by Pink Paislee. I then cut out some pumpkin shapes from white felt using fabric shears and painted the felt with some Marigold Shimmerz. Then when they were dry, I added some Spiced Cider Blingz to the edges of the pumpkins. I then finished them off with some brown felt and green ribbon and a button and hemp cord. The Shimmerz gives just the right amount of bling to the card.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Hugs...

We're having "Snow" much fun with Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps and Shimmerz!

I must admit I have not been privileged enough to own or work with any Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps before! LOL But I am glad I did now! They are such fun stamps and they stamp so crisp and clear too!

For my first project I decided to make a snowflake ornament using the set called Snowman and Puppy. Soo cute! At first though, I thought, "how am I going to use Shimmerz on images that are blacked out"? But guess what, even over the blacked images (hat, mittens, scarf, dog) Shimmerz shows through! For the snowman I first painted on some Angel Wings Shimmerz to his body and then when dry added another layer of Pixie Dust Shimmerz over that. It gave more dimension to his body. I then added some Sunny Shimmerz to his hat and scarf and some Aqua Marine Shimerz to the rest of the hat and scarf and to his mittens. I added some Coal Shimmerz to the dog. For the Snowflake itself, I used a Maya Road Coaster Album and I added some December Sky Shimmerz to the edges. I painted it on pretty thick to get a more "icy" feel. And lastly, I also added some Opal and Pixie Dust Shimmerz to the punched Martha Stewart snowflakes, a Melissa Frances Rub-on, gingham ribbon and some K&Co. pearls.
Next I made a card with the CHF set called The Lady's Future. I stamped her in black Staz-on and then added some Lilac, Gold Glimmer and Aqua Marine Shimmerz. For the background paper, I first painted the entire piece of white cardstock in Mint Shimmerz and then when dry I sprayed it with some Shimmerz Spritz in Truffle for an aged, funky kinda look! The housewife label is by Graphic 45. Just look at her purse, it is shimmering so much in the sunlight, I couldn't get a good pic of it!! :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

You Are a Star {with Cornish Heritage Farms}!

First, let me say how excited I am to be here and playing not only with the wonderful Shimmerz products but also with the Cornish Heritage Farms stamps! Thank you Stacey for allowing me to join in on the Shimmerz fun!!!!

I have several Cornish Heritage Farm sets that I love but this particular set was a new one for me. It is from their All Things Considered Collection and is called School Primer. I knew when I saw the writing tablet, that I had to use it on my card. Oh goodness, is that going to be a versatile stamp--for backgrounds, journaling, tags, etc.

I stamped the writing tablet onto cardstock and used that to place my sentiment and embellishments. The chipboard star I covered completely in Sunny Shimmerz. Then after it dried, I used the Baby's Breath Spritz on it to create a fun texture and color. Papers: Memory Box eggshell CS, Memory Box parsley notecard & CS, K&Co. Wild Raspberry
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms School Primer
Stamp Ink: Memento bamboo leaves
Embellishments: Deluxe Designs chipboard star, Shimmerz Sunny, Shimmerz Spritz Baby's Breath, Bo Bunny double dot ribbon, Basic Grey Boxer buttons, Karen Foster's Scrapper Floss brown, Rose Moka tiny alphas, Pink Paislee chocolate alpha

Thanks again to Stacey, Shimmerz, and Cornish Heritage Farms for letting me play along in the swap. This was truly a lot of fun! Have a blessed day!

The Rummage Bin

I have to admit that until this stamp set from Cornish Heritage Farms, I had not had the privilege of using their stamps. I have always loved their style, and the stamps that they have. So, this was so much fun for me :)

When I received this stamp set, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it. It is such a gorgeous set, and even though I only used three of the stamps from this set, it is full of possibilities! This set reminded me of a vintage typewriter, and then I saw it. I saw a vintage pen! That's when I knew what I had to create! This is what I came up with.

I used two different postal stamps from CHF for the bucket and the bird. It is a little hard to tell because it is covered, but it is a postal mark, and it looks gorgeous being coated with Bubble Gum Shimmerz! Then I used a journaling stamp to create the tag. I used Bamboo Leaf Spritz, Cotton Candy Spritz, and Bubble Gum Shimmerz on this project. I painted the bucket white, and then spritzed it with Bamboo Leaf. When it was dry, I spritzed the Cotton Candy Spritz to give it the pink tint. I took and dipped a cosmetic wedge in the Bubble Gum Shimmerz and painted the rims of the bucket and the handle. I also used the cosmetic wedge to ink the stamps. The tag is spritzed with both colors, and then I also painted with the Bubble Gum Shimmerz. I stamped the bird, spritzed the Melissa Frances wings, and spritzed the Prima flowers and leaves. I really like the way you can stamp using Shimmerz. It gives it such a look that is original and unique.

I hope that you have enjoyed our creations so far! Make sure to stop by later to see what else the Design Team has created :)

Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps

Here are a couple of cards that I created for our swap with Cornish Heritage Farms stamps. This firs image is Stump Scene by Shady Tree Studio. I used several shades of Shimmerz to color in the image including Under The Sea, Pink, Key Lime, Coffee, Mocha, Golden Wheat and Jilted Jade.

This image is Turtle Sled by Friendly Kritters. I used several different shades of Shimmerz on this image as well. I used Key lime, Angel Wings, Under The Sea, Fire Engine Red, Mocha and Golden Wheat.

The sentiments on both cards are from the set called Get Well Centers by Mona Lisa Moments.

Thanks for stopping by the Shimmerz blog today!

Art Nouveau by Cornish Heritage Farms

Isn't it beautiful?! I got to work with this beautiful Backgrounder from Cornish Heritage Farms called Art Nouveau. I wanted to challenge myself and use ONLY this image as the primary focus on my card. But backgrounds are for backgrounds, right? Not this time! First, let me showcase how I used my Shimmerz. :)

I went with using my Shimmerz Baby's Breath Spritz all over my stamped image...LOVE this! (Off topic, I've even sprayed this on some of my daughter's clothes and accessories, LOL!). And here is the full card.

As you can see, I brought the background image to my foreground and made it a focal point. YAY! Mission accomplished! :)

Friends...

...are precious, and I love making cards to my friends and tell them how much they mean to me! Cornish Heritage Farms have some fantastic stamps which I use a lot on cards for friends. On this card I used two sets of sentiments and one background stamp.

This beautiful sentiment is from the Mona Lisa Moments - Friend Centers stamp set. I stamped it first on some watercolour paper. I then masked it and stamped with the Leaves #3 Background stamp. I sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz Olive Branch and Bamboo Leaf before I distressed the edges of the paper, used a Martha Stewart punch on the top border and sewed the edges on my sewing machine.

The flowers and leaves are sprayed with Olive Branch and Mudpie Spritz. I used some Crackle Paint underneath the flowers.
The small sentiment is from the Script Essential Expression stamp set. This is a very versatile set with sentiments for all occations! A must-have for a cardmaker;)

Inside the card i used one more sentiment from the Mona Lisa Moments - Friend Centers stamp set. And in the corners I stamped with the the Leaves #3 Background stamp. All edges of the papers are distressed and sewed. I sprayed the corners with Shimmerz Spritz Mudpie.

Welcome Autumn!

Are you getting excited for Fall?! I know I am! The changing of this season is my very favorite time of year! :)

For the Cornish Heritage Farms stamp swap I was lucky to get to play with this adorable Kim Hughes stamp set called "Autumn Trees". I love this set and can imagine myself using it in many, many ways! :)

Welcome Autumn Card - For my first project, I couldn't resist creating a happy, Fall scene on the front of my card.

I stamped all my images on cream cardstock using Timber Brown Staz On ink and then used Shimmerz paints to color them in. For the tree, I used Choc-o-lot Shimmerz on the trunk, and both Sunny and Sunflower Shimmerz on the leaves. The scarecrow is painted with Choc-o-lot, Green Olive, Sunflower, Marigold, and Fire Engine Red Shimmerz. The leaves on the ground are Sunflower. The pumpkins are Green Olive and Marigold Shimmerz. The lines of the pumpkin are shaded with Spiced Cider Blingz. I then stamped the sentiment on a small piece of canvas and used lots of stitching for a homespun, Autumn feel. :)

Welcome Card - I just had to use that cute crow image for a "Welcome" card. He just has a friendly, home-y feeling about him! :)

Again, I used Timber Brown Staz On ink to stamp my images. I painted the leaves using Sunflower and Fire Engine Red Shimmerz, and Spiced Cider Blingz. The crow is filled in with Coffee Shimmerz.

A big THANK YOU to Cornish Heritage Farms for swapping with us! I can't wait to see what the other team members have in store for us this week!

Thanks for coming by!

Happy Harvest

Happy Tuesday!! Today I am so excited to share with you my project for the swap that the Shimmerz team did with Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps. I was given a set called Happy Harvest from their GM Series to work with. I loved all the fall vegetables and fruits that were included with the set and I knew that I wanted to use them. I stamped them on my white sheet and colored them in with my copics. I then masked them off and sprayed the whole sheet with Baby's Breath Shimmerz. Using Baby's breath shimmerz is a very inexpensive way to get the look of the expensive sparkle paper. Plus when you mask the images and then spray it, the images seem to stand out more than they would if the whole paper was sprakley. I also wanted the ribbon to sparkle so I painted it with my Choc-o-lat shimmerz.

Stay tuned to see what the other design team members have created for you!!

Hope you have a great Tuesday!! Thanks bunches for stopping by.

Shimmerz Moves

Still in a moving sparkly house frame of mind today. The house is made of fabric, backed with card and sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz Baby's Breath for that sparkle and I've used Shimmerz Paints Teal on the embossed card and yummy Choc-o-lot on the button. Mmm Chocolate buttons!

Have a sparkly house Saturday
