Old McAnya had a farm...

And it is shimmery!

Oh this cute little Anya just wanted me to bling her out with Blingz and Shimmerz! I mean, wouldn't you enjoy yard work more if you had bling'd out overalls? I know I would!!

What I used: Anya stamp from The Greeting Farm, Brilliance ink and EP, Copic markers, White Inkssentials gel pen, Flower Soft, Shimmerz Paints in Mello Yello blingz and Blueberry Cobbler Shimmerz, SU CS, SU PP, SU ribbon, EK Success punch, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Hero Arts flowers, SU brad, MM button brad, Doodlebug brad with a bead spacer, corner rounder punch.

Here are some close-ups of the shimmerz and blingz:

Hope you all have a great day!

Formal and Funny

Today's project is a study in contrasts. It's dressed up to be an elegant card for an engagement or wedding, yet the stamped image is whimsical and the matching sentiment is funny. And as much as I adore these stamps, my favorite part about making this project is how I unexpectedly fell head-over-heels for the Coal Shimmerz!

Supplies:
Stamps: Ocean Friends (Kim Hughes Collection @ Cornish Heritage Farms)
Paper: Classic Crest Solar White 80# Cover Smooth (Neenah); Fig Swirl & Blackberry Swirl Smoothies (Bazzill Basics); Silver Sparkle CS (DCWV)
Paint/Ink: Coal Shimmerz (Shimmering Products); Paris Dusk Memento Dye Ink (Tsukineko)
Accessories: Large Circle & Scalloped Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirl Embossing Folder (Provo Craft); Flowers from the Bubbles Collection in Black (Prima Marketing); Red gems & pearl (K & Company); Black ric rac (May Arts); Dimensional adhesive (3L)

Looking at this closeup, it still surprises me that these sparkly paper Prima flowers started out a very light cream color. The Coal Shimmerz had excellent color coverage and made these sparkle like crazy! They almost look like the very metallic-steel-black-grey looking mineral called Hematite.

It's gorgeous and one of my new favorites. Happy Shimmering!

Some Sweet Baby Girl Cards

Officially, it is spring, but even here in Texas it has been quite cool the last day or two. Now, if it gets below 45 degrees, then I have to have a fire going. It's not because I like the ambience or the warmth or the sound. It is just more cost efficient :)

I made these cards a few weeks ago, and it has taken me this long to post them. Can you believe that? You would think life was hectic LOL

This first card was made for a baby shower for Molly Ritterbeck (aka missmollycreations.blogspot.com) . It didn't turn out exactly like I had wanted it to, but there were certain elements I did in fact like. First, I used Pink Shimmerz on the flowers on the lace, and of course on the flower! I was very surprised (I don't know why) that it adhered as well as it did, and it really popped. Now I did this card a couple of different ways, so I will show them both. Here they are:

Obviously my picture taking skills were a little lopsided this day :) But I really liked using Shimmerz on lace, and I will definitely be doing it again. Thank you for stopping by and being so supportive of the entire Shimmerz team.

Many Blessings~~~~ Danielle

Birthday Shimmerz

I can not get enough of the new Shimmerz colors, I have been waiting for a great brown for a while, and the Carmel seems to be the one I am always reaching for.

I colored the spots with my copic markers and then went over them with the Carmel Shimmerz. The color of the Shimmerz blends right over top so that you can still see the shading underneath.

I love how the Shimmerz are not overpowering and make for a nice subtle sparkle on the dress. If you havn't seen the new colors yet, run don't walk over to the Shimmerz website and check them out, they are fantastic (and you are going to love the browns *wink*).

Thanks Bunches for stopping by!

What A Happy Tree :)

I made this card for a blog hop during the weekend. It was a lot of fun to see all of the different designs and creations. What was even more amazing was to see so many designers listing Shimmerz on their supply lists! YAY Shimmerz!!! This is the card that I did:

Here is a close up on my Shimmerz Butterfly in Fire Engine Red (ok, I think this is my newest favorite color)

I really liked the way it came out. It was a very simple, but elegant card. The supplies I used were Bazzill, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder, Stampin' Up Frame Die Cut, Unity Stamps Tree, Butterfly, and Happy, Shimmerz, Stampin' Up! Ribbon, and Copic Markers.

I hope everyone had a very blessed weekend. I have just recently started to stamp, so first of all, I don't have much of a collection, but I am working on trying to get some more stamps and hopefully I will be posting more stamped projects. :)
Thank you for stopping by and looking!
Blessings~~~ Danielle

Color shading

I have to admit that I am a lover of white, but when it comes to my scrapbook pages I like a bit more color.

This page will go into a "Family Heritage" mini book that I am creating for my mom for Mother's Day and I thought that the Melissa Frances white resin flower piece would be awesome with some color for the page.

This is the resin piece before painting with Shimmerz and Blingz.

I used Under the Sea Blingz for the large flower and highlighted towards the center of the petals with Flashee Fushia. The other flowers are colored with Golden Wheat Shimmerz and the new Choc-o-lot Blingz. I used 3 light coats of the base colors-- allowing them to dry in between each coat then added the Choc-o-lot at the center base of the petals. The leaves are colored using Wintergreen Shimmerz. I love how the color built up in the crevices to make them darker as the paints created their own shading as it leveled out on the surface.

Once everything was dry I added a bit more of the Choc-o-lot around the outside edge of the resin piece then added it to my mini book page. Sorry that you can't see the wonderful shimmery effects--we need the sun to come out again!

Thanks for stopping by,
Linda :-)

Under the Sea...on my window

OK...confession time...whenever I get anything new, I have to use it immediately! If I get a new stamp, I ink it up and stamp it on a scrap paper just to see it! Same thing with products like Shimmerz. When I got my most recent order of Shimmerz and Blingz, I opened up every single jar and painted a blob onto a piece of cardstock just so I could see it right away!! Well...when I saw the new Under the Sea Blingz, I immediately though of the shades of blue and purple in hydrangeas. I adore these flowers!

For this card, I colored my image with Copic markers. On the flowers, I simply dotted a bit of violet and light blue marker on the flowers - I didn't color them all the way in, I just wanted a little bit of depth and shadow. Then I painted the Under the Sea Blingz over all the flowers! Wow!! I'm lovin' this color!!

I was really able to capture the sparkle of the Blingz in this photo below. Click on it to open a much larger view in a separate window - you can really see all the blues and purples reflect the light!

Thanks for letting me share with you - I'm really excited about these new colors. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, you can see them all on the new website!

Hugs, Jami

An Easter Gift Box

First I took a Michael’s $1 wood gift box and painted it with a quick coat of white acrylic paint. While it was still wet, I put a couple quick coats of Ultra Marine Shimmerz on it until it reached the color intensity that I was looking for. I could have painted the box with just the Shimmerz, but because the wood is porous the Shimmerz paint would act more like a stain, it would still be shimmery but that was not the look I was going for. I could have also just mixed the Shimmerz with the acrylic paint before painting it on, but I wasn’t sure how much to use, so I found just adding the Shimmerz to the wet paint worked best for me! It was a bit hard to pick up the shimmer on the wood with my camera….but it is there…..and it is beautiful!

For the Prima flowers, I did pre-mix the acrylic paint with the Shimmerz. It doesn’t take much Shimmerz to tint the paint if you are working in small quantities, which I was for the flowers. I LOVE how the paint made the flowers a bit on the stiff side - they kept their shape so well, and of course, I LOVE the shimmering creamy blue the two mixed together created! Once the paint was dry, I finished off the box with some Basic Grey paper, Nestabilities, the Imaginisce Bird, and Copics!

Easters on it's way...

For my project today I created a couple of fun little Easter treat bags. These are more than your ordinary bags though because they are homespun with muslin fabric scraps, embroidery, some stamping, and Shimmerz painting. How great would these look on your Easter table at each place setting?!!

I love fabric and thought that it would be fun to add some shimmer to it with my stamped images that are by Melissa Frances. I used the Pixie Dust and Flashee Fushia Blingz on the bunny image, then added the Under the Sea Blingz to the border betweeen the embroidery. For the chick image I used Golden Wheat Shimmerz, Under the Sea and Flashee Fushia Blingz. They went on the fabric like a breeze. I am definitely going to do this again.

I hope that this inspires you to do something shimmery for your Easter decorations!

Linda :-)

Thinking of you

For my card i was inspired by the big summery flowers i have received through Magnolia to make a card with. I thought Tilda running with out anything in her hands does look kind of empty so i punched some butterflies out of cardstock and painted those with Shimmerz "Blingz" Under the Sea. Looks really super shimmery and does match the papers fabulous. As you can see Tilda's arm did not fit into the oval... so i cut her out anyways and just colored on a second image the arm in, cut it out and glued it on the oval over the spot that was cut off.

Stamps: Magnolia Spring kit .. if you missed to purchase this wonderful kit in Sweden available through Magnolia-liocus.
Embellishments: Shimmerz "Blingz" Color: under the Sea,
flowers sent by Magnolia, SwedenPapers: Stampin up and DVCWPunch: Fiskars "Apron Lace" and Martha Stewart

Best Wishes

Shimmerz paints provided the perfect "vintage-y" (I know that's not a real word, but you know what I mean) accent to this card I made using some of the lovely Graphic 45 papers from their Communique line. I used Coffee Shimmerz on the black patterned paper to give it an antique look, and I used Gold Glimmer Blingz on the Prima flower to give it that old gilded look and make it pop.

And now I can't wait to play with the new Shimmerz and Blingz colors that I just got my grubby little hands on!! Woweee!!

Blue Bird of Spring

Several of the new Shimmerz colors arrived in my mailbox this week and they are fantastic!

This little Memory Box bird was just crying (cheeping) out for some sparkle, so I cracked open the new Under the Sea Blingz for him.

First, the image was stamped with Stazon ink on water color paper and painted with a light wash of SU inks. Then Under the Sea Blingz was painted onto the bird, Celery Shimmerz onto the leaves and Bubblegum Shimmerz onto the flowers. [Sorry this close up is a little dark, Spring has barely begun where I live.]
Head over to the new website and check out all those yummy new colors.

Happy Spring!

Mellow Ketto

So are you all loving the new Shimmerz colors as much as me? They are all so amazing, but the Mellow yellow blingz has to be my favorite of the entire batch.

I used it on Phoebe Kettos wings, I did not have to color the wings with a base color like I usually do. The Mellow Yellow Blingz was enough to give it a great color and shimmer. I also used the Mellow Yellow on the flower and Angel Wingz on the pink flower for a bit of extra sparkle.

Hope you all have a great Monday. Thanks bunches for stopping by today!!

Easter Bunch

If you love the Magnolia stamps.. i would love to invite you over to my blog.. i have a big Magnolia blog candy up for grasp. I will give away 6 packages filled with 3-4 brand new Magnolia stamps! So come on over to Pretty Pressings to check it out :-) and with some luck you have some new stamps to play with.
Hello and good morning! I would like to show you a card made with supplies that Magnolia, Sweden has sent me and using just a accessory stamp. I love to combine the stamps but i love to show them off just as a single motive. They are drawn so wonderfully if iTilda is sitting on them they cover up so much :-) on this image i left the eggs completely white and than painted them with Shimmerz "Golden Wheat". The shadows around the image are created with Copic sketch warm grey W0.

hugs
Claudia

Busy As A Bee

I just love using my Shimmerz Paints to highlight those ethereal parts of a stamped image like the wings on the bee and the Magnolia Tilda images below, it just has a perfect sparkle and coverage to give that delicate, shimmery feel.

You can see I've been busy this weekend :)

I love the way the Shimmerz paints catch the light.

Shiny Spring Mini Album

I am so excited for Spring this year, so I made a little mini album about our Spring Break from last year. This mini was so fun to make shimmer and shine! Maybe I went a bit overboard.....um on second thought nevermind, you can never have to much shine and sparkle. ;) What was I thinking?

For the polka dots on the leaf, I used Evergreen Shimmerz. I dipped the end of my paintbrush directly into my jar of Shimmerz and then just dabbed little dot's all over.

For a fun Sparkle on the edges of my album pages I used Pixie Dust Blingz to just lightly "dust" over my white paint. It really made the edges Pop!

Other colors I played with on this mini album were Bubblegum, Hottie Pink Blinz, Marigold, Green Olive, Sunflower, and my current favorite Under the Sea Blingz which is brand new! (so gorgeous) you have to try it!

I hope wherever you are the weather is beautiful for you! Happy Spring Everyone!!! Have a lovely day.
xoxo

Springtime makes me happy....
