Shimmery Glass!

Here is my attempt at one of those bottle people, only mine is a Bunny! I used one of those bottles that the flavored oils comes in. I added a 2" Styrofoam ball, cardboard for the ears, which I inked white, toothpicks for the whiskers, and brads for the eyes and nose. I decorated the bottle with some ribbon, part of an Easter Pick, more Daisy D's brads, and a Studio G stamp. I also filled the inside of the bottle up with crystal beads. But it was missing something?!! Yup, you got it!! SHIMMERZ!! (click on photos for a closer look)

I applied some Pixie Dust Shimmerz to the outside of the bottle and it looks so beautiful! I hope you like it!! Lets see some of the fun aways you use Shimmerz paints on your projects!! Just leave a link here on the blog to your creation!! We would love to see it!!

Have a wonderful night!!

Happy St Patricks Day

This card is 5.5 x 5.5 inches. I cut out the clover and curled the leafs with a pen to give it more dimension - adhered it to the circle shape with pop up dots. The clover and the scallops of the circle shape are painted with Shimmerz paints in Celery Green. Just a simple and fast card but with Shimmerz paints the card looks more time consuming as it actually was.

Stamps: 4 leaf clover, Lucky Terri Bug and sentiment is out of the great St. Patricks day set that Regina from The Cutting Cafe designed
Embellishments: Shimmerz paints in Celery Green, Wild Wasbi Ribbon, Making Memories, SU brads
Papers: Wild Wasabi, Heidi Swapp

Have a shimmerz weekend :-) hugs

Shimmerz on Transparency Paper

I just taught a class yesterday on how to stamp on transparency paper (you know the ones that they charge A LOT of money for) and I made a tag and a card. Plus, I went ahead and did some Easter items. I did an a egg card and a little baby chick Easter basket. I used Shimmerz on each one because the Shimmerz stuck to the transparency paper so well. There are so many things that you can not use on transparency papers, but Shimmerz is definitely not one of them :) It worked great. Here are my projects that I did.

I hope that y'all have a fantastic weekend :)
Many Blessings to each of you~~~ Danielle

Supply List:
Cardstock - Bazzill
Tag - 7 Gypsies
Basket - Hobby Lobby
Stamps - Stampin' Up!
Pens - Bic Permanent Markers & Sharpie (does not work very well on this)
Shimmerz - Pixie Dust on Heart Card, Egg Card, Little Chick Basket, Cupcakes on Tag

Hello...

Well, this is my first post here at the Shimmerz blog...and I am going to show you another way you can use Shimmerz in your projects. I decided to give my spice to a layout I created using my Shimmerz paints. I painted on top of my die-cut chipboard shape with my Angel Wings, just enough to cover it, and still allow for the colors to show through. I love the extra sparkle that it gives to my layout! So, if you are a scrapper as well as a card maker, you can start adding Shimmerz to you layouts as well!
Here is the finished project:
A close up of the Shimmerz added to the chipboard flower:

And a final close up of the collage, as you can see, I used a little Angel Wings on it as well:

Thanks for letting me share some work with you!

Thank you for visiting us today on the Shimmerz blog for your Inspiration how to use those wonderful paints!

This is a close up shot to show you how absolutely amazingly the Shimmerz paints work for the Magnolia wings :-) I used for my card here the "Pixie Dust" paint. Simply wonderful and not overpowering you can still see the lines of the stamped image underneath. (Click on the picture and you can see it in detail)

Everything old is new again!

If you have been scrapbooking and/or stamping for a while, you might be like me - equipped with enough supplies to quite possibly keep your grandchildren happy until they're grandparents! So why not pull out your foam stamps and give them a whirl with Shimmerz! You won't believe how easy it is, and what a great end result you get.

First, give your jar a nice shake to mix the paint. (Here I am using Royal Red - yum!) Then, when you open the lid, use that as your palette. It hardly takes any paint for a fantastic effect!

Next, just paint it onto your stamp!

Stamp as usual.

And look at the fantastic image you get!

Here, I just die cut the image, layered it (notice I edged that layer behind with more Royal Red - I just used what was left on my foam brush) and made a card around it. I love having multi-purpose cards like this on hand, so this is the perfect addition to my stash.

And just look at that shimmer - gorgeous!
I hope that I've inspired you to pull out your foam stamps and pair them up with your Shimmerz paints!

Be well, Jenn

Rocket Shimmer

Hi All! When I pulled out this spaceship stamp I knew I had to apply some Shimmerz paint to it! I colored it in first with my Copics and then applied some Shimmerz Blingz in Pink Poinsettia. I love how it really makes the spaceship POP! I then cut it out once it was dry and adhered the blinged out spaceship on the card with 3D glue dots to give it a more WOW factor. I took a close up shot to show how sparkly it is. The stamp image is from The Cat's Pajamas.
Until next time,
Ana Wohlfahrt

Shining Star!

I whipped this card together yesterday just to show you a little Aqua Marine Shimmerz!

First I covered the chipboard star with white cardstock and then I gave it a few good coats of Shimmerz paint. The paper is Fancy Pants, About a Boy. The black pearls are Prima. The ribbon is May Arts – I scrunched it over red-line adhesive. The sentiment is a rub-on.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring, Summer....

Please, please let it hurry and be summer here! LOL Or at least spring!

Who else is ready for sunflowers and pails of water for plants and just being outside in the sunlight? Hint: ME! ME! ME!) ENOUGH with the winter, already. LOL!

So I made a fun spring/summer card and you know how hard it is to get something metallic to LOOK metallic on paper, right? Well, these Shimmerz paints and Blingz paints sure do help a lot! I have an old tin watering can that I use that looks strikingly similar to this one!

What I used: Great Impressions stamp, SU CS, SU PP, Copic markers, Hi-Ho Silver Blingz, Cuttlebug, Spellbinders dies, Prima flowers, and a brad. The sentiment is from Amy R. Stamps Warm and Cozy set from All That Scraps.

Happy Shimmerz-ing!

Gift Idea

Hello and happy Tuesday. Thank you for visiting today the Shimmerz Inspiration site.
I just took those pictures at 9 am this morning and the light is not very good so early but can you see how absolutely shiny and shimmery the paints from Shimmerz are??? i have used them yesterday the very first time and they are super easy to use. So, beginner approved lol! I used Pixie Dust on the bumble bee, the circle and the daisies and on the leaves and on the Designer paper i used some Celery paint. This way i was able to create my own glossy shimmery Designer paper with the paints. Now, the good thing about the Pixie Dust i noticed while i was using it is that even if i used over some Copic colored areas that it still shows me the actual coloring underneath. Unlike with the Copic Glitter pens where you are going to cover all the work you have done previously. I looove it!!!
Stamp: Magnolia Tilda from the "Shabby Chic" Collection, Sentiment: Reginas fabulus Circle Sentiments i used again the 1" circleEmbellishments: Shimmerz paints in Pixie Dust and Celery, Stampin up Ribbon,
Papers: Imaginice and Riding Hood Red
Tools: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Tiny Hearts Collectible Border punch, Crop a dile, SU Circle punches

Thank you for reading

Wings & Shimmerz

I am so excited to be posting to the Shimmerz blog, this is my first post and I am going to let you in on a secret of mine, haha. I love images with wings, and since I discovered Shimmerz it has only made those cute wings even better.

I start by coloring my image, I do not color anything that overlaps into the wings (like the hair). I then outline the inside of the wings with the lightest color I am coloring with. Here I used G24, but I use R81 a lot!!

I then take my blender and go over the marker line to make it fuzzy and faded. Push from the outside to the middle of the wing to drag the color in.

Once I have them as faded as I want I fill in my hair and outline the image with a grey for shadowing.

Then I take my Shimmerz (I used Pixie Dust Blingz) and paint the wings, this gives a little color shading and a whole lot of sparkle.

And here is my finished card, hopefully I have inspired you to give your winged stamps a bit of extra love with some Shimmerz!!

A Bouquet of Flowerz

Today was a good day :) I received in the mail, 20 jars of Shimmerz and Blingz that I had recently purchased. I was so excited....can you guess what I did all day??
The other night I had soup for dinner, and for some reason I thought, "Oh I should keep this can. I can probably alter it some way!". So, today I was playing with the new My Minds Eye Line Penny Lane, when I had a brainstorm. The entire collection is gorgeous because it is covered with flowers. Before I did anything else, I grabbed some white Bazzill flowers and decided to try out a few of the new colors. For each flower, I painted it one of the new colors. Oh my goodness, they turned out so amazing :) I showed my mother, my mother-in-law, and I tried to show my dad but he wasn't interested :(
A had a fairly large Bazzill flower and I painted it with Royal Red Shimmerz, and right then I had my inspiration. I decided that I wanted to make a bouquet of flowers. This is something that I have never attempted before, and it ended up being so easy.
Here is a picture of the bouquet (sorry about the lighting, the sun was going down):

All I did was wrap a strip of paper around the soup can, and cutting a thinner strip to put around the middle of the can. Then I attached the Bazzill with Shimmerz. Here is a close up of the flower:

Look at the way it sparkles and just sets the entire theme off. I love the way it turned out. For the flowers, I just punched different sizes of scallops and circles. Then for the stems I cut this pieces of white cardstock, folded each strip in half, and used my adhesive. When I was inserting them in the can I actually put toothpicks in between the folded cardstock so that it would be sturdy in the can. Then I stamped a sentiment, and I added a little Golden Wheat Shimmerz, added some pop dots and I was done. I really thought it came out cute. I started thinking about using actual floral sticks for this, and putting candy in it for the kids' teachers. There are so many ideas. I just wanted to share what I have been doing today. Thank y'all so much for stopping by, and looking at all of our work!
Much Love & Many Blessings~~~ Danielle

Jazzed Up

Hi All! Today I have a fun Anya card that has been all jazzed up with some Shimmerz Blingz paints in Flashee Fuchsia. I think Flashee Fuchsia is my favorite right now. I added the sparkle on her sweater and stockings. It really makes the card pop! I also add some paint on her rosy cheeks. I love metalic/shimmery makeup so I added some on Mrs. Teacher Anya. Well, that's all for today but I will be back with some more Shimmerz later :)
Hugs,
Ana

Shimmering Acetate!

Everyone has their one product that they can't seem to do without on their projects. Ever since I was introduced to Shimmerz, it has been that product for me! It seems to find it's way into everything I do. Sometimes a lot, and sometimes just for a little touch of sparkle and shine.

When I embossed this acetate, and laid it against the black card stock, I knew it needed just a pop of color. I also needed a way to cover up the adhesive in that corner of the acetate. My first thought?? Will Shimmerz work on acetate??

You bet it does! I used the Royal Red Shimmerz and puddled it in the middle of the heart, then used a fine brush to spread it out around the edges. I let it dry for about 5 minutes (it does take just a bit longer to dry because I put it on so thick). When it was all dry, I added a second coat.

I am always amazed at how much coverage I get with the Shimmerz. Even with multiple coats, a little bit goes a long way! Before I open up a jar to use, I always shake it vigorously. Then I use what's on the inside of the lid to paint with. I have yet to need to dip my brush into the jar.

I just {heart} the look (corny pun intended) of the red shimmery heart on the acetate. Thanks for letting me share with you, and I hope this inspires you to try a little Shimmerz on your next project using acetate.

Hugs, Jami

Home Sweet Home With Shimmerz

This is my first post on the Shimmerz blog, and I have to say that I am quite excited to share with you my work :) This is a card that I created a couple of days ago for a challenge. The challenge was to do something Fun & Frilly, and even though I was ok with the way it turned out, I really felt like it was missing something. Yesterday, I decided to put a Shimmerz touch to it. The paper is from Webster's Pages, the cardstock is Bazzill, the brad is Basic Grey and the alphas are MM.
Here is the card:

This is a close up picture of the butterfly. I used Hottie Pink Blingz and Royal Red Shimmerz together, and went around the edge of the butterfly's wings. I am so pleased with the way the Shimmerz really brought life to the butterfly. Even the photo does not capture the elegance it exudes.

Finally, here is a close up of the flower. It was a blue flower, and I just touched over it with a little Pixie Dust Blingz.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that you have a Fabulous weekend :)

A Shimmery Spring!

Don't you just love the Spring? I love all the beautiful colors! The pink tulips, the grass getting greener, the pale blue skies! And why not give all those beautiful colors some shimmer too? There are so many beautiful colors of Shimmerz in shades of pinks, greens, blues, yellows and the list goes on! But there is also my favorite Angel Wings! It gives a pretty shimmer to any project!

Here is a card I made today for a challenge to use the color Green. I covered a Colorblok Flower shaped mini Chipboard album with some patterned paper by SEI. (I love to use Mini Albums as the base for my cards! So fun!!) I used some stamps by Imaginisce and the Welcome Sign is by Provo Craft. I colored in the stamped image with some Copics and then added some Angel Wings Shimmerz over it! (Tip: I use a waterbrush, minus the water, to add my Shimmerz. It has a nice pointy brush and is easy to apply Shimmerz wherever I want!)

In this photo you can see the shimmer it adds and how the image just glistens!!

And you can also mix different Shimmerz colors together! I had made this little Bird House to display in my home for Valentine's Day. The little birdie on it was part of a pick I purchased at Michael's. It was originally white. I added some Hottie Pink Blingz to it. And when that was dry, I added some Pink Poinsettia Blingz over that for even more added color and shimmer! I also applied some Pink Poinsettia Blingz to the cardstock Tag.
Here is a closer look at the birdie!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Just for fun!

It isn't often that I get to sit down and stamp just for fun. I usually have a specific project that I have to make or a deadline to meet. Not today...today I just stamped for fun!

I stamped the flower on the white cs circle and colored it with Prismacolor markers. I stamped it a second time on scratch paper and colored it the same but also painted it with Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz. I added self adhesive rhinestones and the decorative brad and then layered it over the first image with a foam dimensional.

Here is a close-up of the flower taken at an angle so you can see the shimmery effect the Hottie Pink Blingz adds.Supplies used: Flower stamp from Stampendous, Sentiment stamp from Firecracker Designs, SU CS, Basic Grey DP, Amuse self adhesive rhinestones, brad is from MM (I think), foam dimensionals, Hottie Pink Shimmerz Blingz, Nestibilities.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

What's Your Favorite "Neutral?"

When you look at the lightest colors of Shimmerz, you know that most of the time, these light colors are the ones we reach for to color over other things to add a bit of bling to our creations!

Well, you've heard about Pixie Dust Blingz and Angel Wings -- but did you ever think about Candlelight? It has an ivory cast to it but when you paint it on in a thin coat --- the ivory cast goes away and really brings out the color below and the sparkle is just too pretty for words! I think this color is underrated-- BIG TIME!

Above is a peek at a card I made recently using Candlelight on the flowers. When you look at it from a distance, you can't really see the shimmer and you would never think that I painted an ivory paint over top.

Look a bit closer and -- BAM! That sparkle is blinding and beautiful!

So, keep those Angel Wings and Pixie Dust jars close by, but every now and then -- you might just want to try my fave and have some crafting done by Candlelight! ;-)
