Just a little shimmer!

You know what I love about Shimmerz? The fact that just a little bit can go a long way! Just take a look at this card.....

I've got a simple saying and a couple of butterflies (Impression Obsession) I have some fun dp (Basic Grey Eva), some bling and some metallic thread. Wait... there's more! I added some Angel Wings Shimmerz to give the wing just a little bit of pizazz! It's really sparkly in real life!See? It's the little things on butterfly wings to add some whimsy! While Shimmerz is a blast to paint with, even though it can be added to non-porous materials to add a glossy, sparkly sheen, and even though you can paint flowers or ribbon with it --this just goes to show, when you need just a little sparkle, you can pull out your paints for a bit of pizazz!

See you back here soon!

New Blingz!

Hi All! I am so excited about these new four Blingz colors!! They are so me. I love each one :) So to make my debut using them I decided to make a card that used all four colors. Really, it was super easy to incorporate all the colors in one card :) The darling little girl and pup is from The Greeting Farm and I colored her in with Copics. Then, I added some Pixie Dust Blingz on her necklace, Hi-Ho Silver on the puppy, Flashee Fuchsia on her dress and hat, and Hottie Pink on her bow. I tried to get a close up off all the shimmer by my picture doesn't do the sparkle justice! I really love how these colors bring the card to life. Well, off to play some more. Oh, and don't forget to sign up for a chance at the blog candy giveaway!
Unitl later,

Getting ready for MY favorite holiday...

Hey, with a last name of Love, what do you expect, right?

Ooh y'all! Are you as excited as I am about these new Blingz colors!? Yikes! These are going to be perfect for creating fantastic Shimmerz'd cards and stuff for your sweetie pie. :)

These little cupid girls from All That Scraps are just begging to be Shimmerz'd, right?! I used the new Pixie Dust Blingz on her wings and a bit of the Hottie Pink Blingz for her shoes and the Prima flower. Here is a bit closer so you can see just how sparkly these really are!

Don't forget to enter the blog candy on this post where you can win your own set of these new Blingz colors!

Have a happy day!

Lovin the new Blingz!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Shimmerz Paints has just released 4 brand new lovely colors of Blingz! The new colors are: Flashee Fuchsia, Hottie Pink, Hi-Ho Silver and Pixie Dust. These colors are PERFECT for your Valentine's Day creations or any other fun spring project you make. I aboslutely LOVE the new Pixie Dust Blingz! For my card I painted the cat and the open hearts with Pixie Dust Blingz. I also used Hottie Pink to paint the cat's nose and ears. I am so in love with these new colors!Card details: Stamps from DRS Designs, SU CS, CM cutting system, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Martha Stewart border punch, foam dimensionals, misc ribbon.

A couple more...

...projects that I created with the new Shimmerz Blingz colors:

This birthday card was created by taking a card base that matched the new Flashee Fuschia paint. I think this is from Stampin' Up!. It's from my old stash so I'm not sure. I cut some KI Memories lace cardstock (black swirls) and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the cupcake (from Hero Arts) in black and embossed it. I painted the top with Flashee Fuschia and the bottom with Hi-Ho Silver Shimmerz. The bling cherry is from Heidi Swapp. I then cut it out and adhered it to the die-cuts (made with the Making Memories Slice - Noteworthy design card). The sentiment (happy birthday) is one of the stamps that I designed for The Rubber Cafe that will be available very soon! It's just a little sneak peek of the 14 stamps I designed for them.

For this Valentine's Day card, I used patterned paper by Heidi Grace and layered it on black then white cardstock. I stamped the image (from Inkadinkadoo) in black ink and embossed it. I used Hottie Pink Shimmerz on the heart and Pixie Dust Shimmerz around the heart. I cut out the image, adhered it to a black circle made with a 3" circle punch. Then I added a little ribbon and a pin, added the circle to the card and voila!

Hottie Pink!?!

I just LOVE that name; the perfect name for the perfect Valentine's Day color! I also think that it is the perfect name to describe a woman's cheeks after a hot bath (or after reading Twilight! ;-)

How about a cute little Hottie Pink gift- it's a little sweet and a little salty!

I found this cute sucker bouquet at my local grocery store and thought they'd work perfectly for a decorated bottle of bath salts! I used a Making Memories storage jar and filled it with bath salts. I decorated the outside of the jar with two strips of Basic Grey Bittersweet paper, which I Blingz'd up a bit by painting it with Hottie Pink and Pixie Dust. Usually the scrapbooking paper that has the glitter, embossing, or extra texture is nearly twice as expensive as the standard plain-Jane scrapbooking paper - using Shimmerz/Blingz is an inexpensive, quick and easy way to jazz it up a bit! I used a nail and a hammer to punch a hole in the lid that was large enough to hold the bouquet of heart-shaped suckers. I added some Basic Grey chipboard heart stickers to the front of the bottle - I also painted these with Hottie Pink Blingz.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Shimmering Photo Frames

I have a huge stack of these canvas photo frames from Stampin' Up! in my craft room closet. I was saving them for "someday". Well that "someday" came yesterday when I turned them into Valentine's decor with a little acrylic paint, paper, stamps and of course, Shimmerz!

For this frame I painted the frame with Heidi Swapp acrylic paint in "Betty". I then used a piece of old patterned paper that I've been saving for "someday" as well! Love this paper. It's by Teresa Collins for Junkitz which is no longer available but I'm all about using up my old stash this year! The heart stamp is from Stampin' Up! and the wings stamps are from Heidi Swapp. I stamped and embossed them in black on white cardstock. I then Shimmered them up with Hottie Pink Shimmerz in the heart and Hi-Ho Silver on the wings. I cut out the heart and wings and adhered it to my project with dimensional dots. For the chipboard letters on the bottom, I painted them with a quick coat of the "Betty" paint then a coat of Hottie Pink Shimmerz.

For this frame I used Hi-Ho Silver Shimmerz on the edges. I stamped the heart on white cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed the heart with Silver embossing powder from Ranger. I colored in the heart with Hottie Pink Shimmerz (my favorite, can you tell?) and colored in the wings with pixie dust. The text paper is new from Little Yellow Bicycle.

It is so cloudy and dreary today so you can't see the shimmer very much in these photos but you can see the fabulous texture of the paint. I didn't shake the paint on purpose so I could get the really chunky paint on the bottom of the jar!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hottie Pink...

...is my favorite of the new colors of Shimmerz Blingz!

For this card, I painted a chipboard crown from Scenic Route Paper Co. with some hot pink acrylic paint. I then gave it lots of shimmer with the new color, Hottie Pink. I used two coats. I tied a little bow of silver cording from Stampin' Up! and adhered the crown to a white card base made from Bazzill Swiss Dot. I added a little (well a lot!) of bling. The pink jewels on the tips of the crown are from Doodlebug designs. The flower is from Glitz designs. The line of pink on the bottom of the crown is cut from a large oval from Prima. And lastly, the "princess" bling is from me & my BIG ideas.

This is just the first of many projects I was inspired to create with the new Shimmerz Blingz so check back later for more creative ideas!

Hottie Love Bug

Shimmerz Paints has done it again!!!! Four new "Blingz" colors - to die for.... yum, yum. Here's a little sampling of "Hottie Pink". Along with a close up show all that "Hottie Pink" goodness.

Card Details: Rubber Stamps: "Love Bug" (Our Craft Lounge); Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah) and :Raspberry Fizz" (Papertrey Ink); Pattern Paper: "Butterfly Flat Paper" and Lime Garden Flat Paper" (K & Co); Ink: Graphite Black (Brilliance); Felt Ribbon and Flower Brads: "Berry Sweet" (K & CO); Colored with Copics, AND highlighted with "Hottie Pink" Blingz (Shimmerz Paints). Be sure to check out all the other designers' samples for this new FAB Four release!!!! Enjoy and Create!, Lila

Bring On The BLINGZ!

What do Flashee Fuchsia, Hottie Pink, Hi-Ho Silver and Pixie Dust all have in common? They are the new Valentine inspired Blingz from Shimmerz! And.... they are being released-- today!

To get ready for the release, I picked up one of my new favorite images - the large rose from Flourishes I Love Roses set and went to town with Flashee Fuchsia and Hottie Pink.

I started with pink and then used the fuchsia to shade in the rose. I can't tell you just much this baby sparkles! Many have asked - how much different are the Blingz from Shimmerz? Well, for starters it is a slightly thicker paint with a whole range of iridescent color packed inside the sparkle!

Take a look! Here's a close up!
To make the card, I used my Labels Two Nesties by Spellbinders to cut the shapes. I added some Antique Linen distress ink around the edge on the main ivory piece and then cut out and layered my rose on top. The leaves were painted with Key Lime, Olive and Sagebrush Shimmerz.

And... voila, a perfect card for your honey this Valentine's Day that is sure to sing.... with the Blingz!

Dragon Tails

Hi All! So I'm back with some more shimmery fun :) When I first saw this dragon from MFT I knew that he would be perfect with some Blingz Wintergreen paint. Once I finished coloring him in with my Copics I laid some paint over him and he suddenly came to life! I love how he turned out. Here is a close-up of all the shimmery goodness :)
Until next time,

Shimmerz....not just for the girlz!

I LOVE how Celery Shimmerz made this little guy look so magical! I colored the image with Prismacolor alcohol markers and then painted right over the top with the Shimmerz. This simple and plain card is now something even a little boy will love!

We've Got Winnerz!

Happy New Year!

We're kicking off the year by celebrating two more winners in our monthly Shimmerz Linkz program!

Winning five jars of Shimmerz or Blingz (her choice!) is Etha Schuette with these gorgeous ATCs she made for a swap! The birds really shine with Shimmerz!

And winning three jars of her choice is Janette Olen. She colored some adorable Santas that were featured on both a card and a Christmas ornament. Very cute!

Once again, both of our winners submitted multiple entries, so that seems to be the key to winning. We're now accepting entries for the January 2009 drawing.

Shimmer on!
